This happened to me the other day, not happy.
The latest scam in the area which is happening at the Westfield
St. Lukes shopping mall..
Two good looking 18+year old women come to your car as you are parking
your car; One starts wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, the other
comes to your window saying 'hi' while bending over with her breasts almost
coming out of her blouse, impossible not to look.
When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say no and beg you for a
ride to the City.
You agree and tell them to sit in the back.
On the way they start having sex in the back seat.
Then one of them jumps to the front seat & starts to perform oral sex on
you, while the other one steals your wallet.
I was robbed last Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
I couldn't find them Saturday or Sunday.
Be careful.

Well - for those that don't know.... I had an off... corner I know well, 45 kph right hander, slowing into and through it - back wheel locked up.
Replaying it over and over - I wouldn't change anything that I did... bit I'm nicely reminded of a maxim I was taught years ago... If you go into a corner too fast - you WILL fall off. No exceptions.
It was my bad. No one else, no excuses.
I'm ok - sore ribs RHS, a couple of purple fingers and the RF front and RHS fairings took a hit but it's not fatal (despite my drama queen antics afterwards). Probably financially a write off but who knows what I'll end up diong yet.
On the flip side of the story... I needed a reminder of how good people can be. Avoiding embarassment for those involved - just a very big thanks for the help from those involved - from TEC picking me up for the rest of the ride, to those involved in the pickup and recovery of my RF.

Glad you were happy on the back of the Big Beemer, thank goodness you're ok.
I must suggest that:
it's best to have a big bike do TEC due to oopsies like these
on a night ride, riders should take a light source
ensure the TEC has the leaders phone number before setting out
if the TEC does not appear at an intersection, chances are somethings gone tits.
Good to see the ATNR system works. All did well last night:Punk:

Ok now he's spoken up I have to tell a lil story.
"a person" shot home to pick up the trusty (or in this case quite sick) KB recovery van.
Found the bike basicly exactly where it was sposed to be and happily loaded it up.
Before "the crew" arrived he couldnt help noticing a rather distinctive imprint in the VERY soft mud and clay. Turning his lights back on and
YUP a perfect imprint of a MDU body.--
SO in a thousand years or so archeologists will be remembering this lil crash.

Hi Todd,
The ATNR is open to all bikes (all sizes and types) just as long as you can do 100kph on the open road. It just spoils the Tail End Charlies (last rider who helps keep us in a group, in the right direction) ride if someone comes along and putts along at 80kph. Come over for a chat and tag along, if youre not happy with the ride you can always peel off. (Most come for the ride and have stayed - some for nearly 3 years... still cant get rid of them)

Daylight Savings starts this Sunday! (28th Sept - 2 weeks earlier now)
From next Thursday (2nd Oct), we will have an 'Adventure' option to the ATNR.
This option is recommend for Adventure / Trail / Motard style bikes or whoever wants to get some practice riding on gravel roads. This will be done at YOUR own risk. As gravel can be sometimes unpredictable (Just like the rest of the ride)
There will more info about the roads included in the usual Pre-Ride Briefing.
How the ride works:
Joins the ATNR group for part of the first section but will remain at the back of the pack
Follow the main bunch of 'Road' ATNR riders to a certain point in the ride
'Adventure' peels off onto some gravel roads
We meet back up at the usual halfway point
Carry on with part 2 of the ride as per normal
As the group turnout increases, I will look at alternative routes and if number get large, maybe an alternate night to the ATNR.
Who's keen? Morcs? Gunnyrob? The Stranger? Who else has gravel sliders out there?

Amen to this. Was Tail end charlie again, but this time had to sit at 60 kmh for a zx-1400. If you don't feel happy riding at night, please get your own confidence levels up before coming along to big ride nights as you will dick around lots of others. (We almost had search parties out for us). It was obvious that someone was way out of thier comfort zone big time.

Doesn't surprise me Gunnyrob.
Did you use the same roads as last week? How was the surface tonight?
I was off my game last week, considering I was on a road I'd never ridden before, having been up since 0300 that morning, and on a bike I'd never ridden before (an ER-6n - I normally ride an RF900 like MDU's - TOTALLY different animal) and it was one of Frosty's ones for sale to boot.
There's a number of blind crests on that road with some interesting corners immediately following - I'm not the world's best night rider due to dodgy eyes but didn't go too badly - at or slightly over the open road speed limit nearly all the way (being a good boy LOL) - and I've got to admit when you're on a bike you don't know and you end up doing a few front end slides on a downhill corner it tends to knock the old confidence a bit. I daresay a big kwakka would be a hell of a handful on that road.
I did notice a couple regulars blow past me - was that Morcs on the DRZ motard - I can't remember - and the guy on the streetfightered gixxer thou (damn I can't remember the names).
Hopefully I'll get an invite to come back again sometime. I'd love to try that road when visibility was a bit better...

All are welcome back, especially now we have daylight saving in our favour & all rides from now should be in light allowing better road craft.
We get a lot of stick from those who observe the ATNR from afar without actually coming on the ride.
We don't want any "cock fights". We just want to have a good social ride. As Qckchk said, we do expect people to at least keep up to a reasonable speed at night (At 60kph we do muck people around)
As tail end charlie, I have to keep an eye on people at the back, but even so, I overtook the rider in question & tried to lead him through the corners & show him good lines.
Safety is the key:niceone:

Havent done the ATNR for ages, thought since im all legal like now, that I would make an apperance. Was great to catch up with you all, but BY GOD what has happened to the ride!!!!!
ATNR used to be the hang out of hooligans and nutters out for a night race, last night even the ginger got bored and left us alone, im sure I nodded off at one stage.
Oh well mayby if I ever ride a Honda or a Harley I will join in again
See yas at the pub

apparently you did it last week. I was behind you on the second part of the ride turning onto east coast road, and you blatantly carried on. I wasnt too bothered, but other people might get pissed.

Lol. I think i'm the reason you had to wait for ages at the point. Or TEC made the same mistake as me(turned wrong way at shell):pinch:
Its really important to find out how the ride is organised.
It gets confusing but its the first person behind the lead rider must stop at a turning point intersection. And that person normally gets pointed to stay at the intersection by the lead rider.
Better luck next time
