Sorry I didnt make it guys....was in Aucks and my bike battery packed up. so couldnt be bothered push starting it so parked it up for the night. And headed back today to Tauranga. Will make it up again soon for ATNR.

Twas a good ride,:scooter: Mr Bking took us up dale and down and through to Helensville, most of the Bikes were Aprillia RSVs of some type or another but a splatter of 250s and a Nice shiny new GSXer (ridden by one of a gentler persuasion) also attended, pace was reasonably behaved though one 250 rider did confess to some off the clock speeds:shit: (on a private road of course) trying to catch the odd Aprillia and 180rwhp B:facepalm:

Very good and hope to see you all again (all be it mostly in the dark from now on):yes:

Haha i was gunning my little 250 trying to keep up, all i could see was Aprillia's gunning past me on each straight we got too. Was a great ride though, the visibility at times made it a bit damn scary around some of those bends but i'm still here! Thanks guys

i dont mind riding at night . it makes it easier to see on coming traffic lol , the only down side is the cooler temperature makes it i little harder to keep the heat in ma tires ... but its all good it just means you have to push a little harder haha:D ,

well I had a nice ride, ended up at westgate just before 7 after all, rode the normal route through to Kaukapakapa, then onto Wellsford. Came back via SH1, did some low speed practice at North Harbour Stadium, then dropped by Bar Africa.

Westgate - Waipoua Forest - Twin Bridges. I'll probably leave Westgate at 9.00, unless I'm still sleeping in like I have been this week.

Looking to gas up & smoke a durrie at Wellsford, Dargaville, Opononi, Kaikohe, then it's anyone's guess from there - depending on how the day is going.

Experienced riders only please, this is a 550km day & I don't plan on stopping other than the above gas points (and the big fuck-off tree).

I'll not be held responsible for the actions of others and if there's more than a couple of us the usual applies (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/107628-The-Group-Ride-Guide). Tossers who like pulling mono's in traffic jams need not apply.

There is a slip that has happened as you leave opononi but that has an automated traffic light operating. Went round that route on Wednesday just been, in the car from Whangarei.

Road works on corners should be o.k - apparently it's the straights that you need to watch out for. That and Taniwha's.

It's raining, what a suprise. Before I have to go back to the drudgery of working life I'm going for a ride, either next Wednesday or Thursday when it's supposed to be sunny again. Westgate - Waipoua Forest - Twin Bridges. I'll probably leave Westgate at 9.00, unless I'm still sleeping in like I have been this week.

Looking to gas up & smoke a durrie at Wellsford, Dargaville, Opononi, Kaikohe, then it's anyone's guess from there - depending on how the day is going.

Experienced riders only please, this is a 550km day & I don't plan on stopping other than the above gas points (and the big fuck-off tree).

I made it all the way to Kaukapakapa with one shower/downpour which was for all of about 2-3k's of the ride, yet on the way back with the group to Wellsford we got absolutely soaked and the trip home was wet but fun, slotted in behind someone that was doing slightly faster than the speed limit and followed him home, also pushed my fuel tank and got 270k's which took 16.12litres of fuel in the tank to replenish and I only have a 17litre tank lol so if I had to go much further I might of ended up pushing my bike home :banana:

Nah, we piked & came back via Twin Bridges. There'a a really tight right hander half way down at the top of a rise with a little village right on it. I will not forget that corner in a hurry & I suspect Virgil won't either.

Didn't make it tonight, ended up taking ~9 hours to do the half coro from the shore and I'm buggered, one burst brake line, a torrential downpour, a water tank on the wrong side of the road up coro hill, and lots of irate holidaymakers. Add some tar bleed and stinking hot sun in the afternoon, just to make sure we got the full experience.

Yes I know the corner as it comes around the right and then goes down into a left hand sweeper, awesome fun both ways if you know its there.

Thank YOU, guys, - Madness, DidJit, Gunnyrob - had an awesome day, and couldn't have asked for better company. It was my first time in that part of the country, and the nice weather once we got out of Auckland made it a very nice journey indeed. Nice little cafe for brunch - The Office? Must make a point of stopping back there again sometime.

Then the lovely trip through the forest, a look at the giant kauri tree, and onward through beautiful Omapere and Opononi and the wide open roads beyond to Kaikohe. Not to mention that sharp little right-hander in the village - that got very exciting very quick, and apparently GPX's are quite capable of going off-road riding as well, who new huh?

Anyway, thanks again, I hope I did not slow you down too much, and looking foward to doing something similar again sometime soon.
