had a few 'scary' moments on the second leg of ride, and just about clipped a curb on one of the intersections... arrrggghhh need a bigger bike!!!

Thanks almost one and all that attended last night.
I was for the first time in ages enjoying a good slow ride with some really good riding.
Then my world changed forever --some truely evil man offered me a ride on his bike.
Not just any bike--a Buell Lightning.
OMG what a bloody nice bike to ride --Ive never in my life felt so totally connected to a motorcycle. It honestly felt like my wrists were attached to the front axle -the steering imput was that precise.
A testiment to the bike was how at home I felt --within two corners I knew it would lean to africa and would stop on a dime.
ANYONE that says the yanks dont build nice bikes NEEDS to ride one.

All I can say is--Blackbuel you are a truely evil man--and thanks for entrusting me with ya beast

1. Ive been doing this ride since Sept '05
2. Nearly every Thursday (with exception of xmas break and the odd day off)
3. Done it in the rain, sun, night, daylight
4. Ive been riding for xx years now

Dont expect to be able to ride at the leaders pace, just ask the other guys who have binned it........ ;) You guys are doin fine, dont think you are goin 'too slow or holdin the pack up' we have all been in the same shoes. I'd rather you were known as 'the guys who are improving their riding skills' instead of the 'twit who just binned it cause they were riding outside of their experience/skill level'............ ya cant go riding on a broken bike with broken bones..........

Its all good tho... I was overseas 4 of those 6 weeks. Just a little frustrating that I couldnt get out much before I left. It was firmly stated and said more than a few times... 'if you injure yourself, you will be letting down your country'... So instead of arguing about it... I did as they wished.
I leave again in 6 weeks time... so i'll be enjoying as much riding as I can till they get all worried that something 'MIGHT' happen and get on my case agin!!!!

i have a lil route that leaves westgate and heads out to murawai and back.... most of it is twistys or sweepers....a few straights here and there...... might have to head out for a trial run on the weekend and see how it goes

What about doing (keystone19's road) Riverhead/Coasteville Rd up to kaikeatia Flat Rd along that to Peak Rd and back down Old North Rd shoot over towards Murawai from that side road back down 16 back up Riverhead Rd down to Albany.. Tis a bit of a circuit..... :rofl:

I belive that last night was the best thursday night ride that i have been on:yes: ( had my fair share of them)

Just the shear number of bikes on the run.:scooter:

And then to find that i was at the front of the group( twice), then waiting for everyone to come past waving :bye: as they all blast off into the distance. Untill the last person came around then it was my turn to blast off catching up with the rest of the group:innocent:

So if my weather analysis is correct, we could be okay.

Theres 3 cold fronts pushing across us west to east, bringing a huge amount of rain with it, now that rain is obviously over us at the moment, but there is a strong westerly carrying it, so it could just blow over in time, and there doesnt look like there is anything following this lot of rain, leaving us with maybe just wind to worry about.
