I've posted on our thread to get Steve (ZRXer) to organise the southern jessies, I'm gonna be out of town.

There was talk of riding through to hells pizza as a bit of a remeberance ride, there was also talk of doing this in conjunction with the south Auckland ride but Im not sure what happened to any of these ideas.
The idea got lost in the mindless dribble from the real biker.
I'm making other arrangements because I'm not capable of trolling through the crap to find out whether this is rumour or not. Cheers dipshit (you know who you are).

that's OK mate, i fully understand that some here would want to keep it all a secret from me
here's a curve ball
my original post was in relation to a suggestion that the southerners might entertain the idea of joining you guys and gals on your ride.
would the opposite also be an idea, we do have some great roads down here in sth auckland and environs?
if we get out of town fast enough the machete wielding lunatics won't be an issue
qkchk organises this ride, so you may need to await her response??

6th December 2006, 09:45
As far as i was aware the idea that had been tabled was not that the too rides be combined but that the 2 rides finish at the same destination this week i.e. Hells in Kohi .......
Personally i think its a cool idea but like they have said unless the organisers (Qkchk or Dover) say otherwise the 2 rides will be as per usual and to the same destinations.

the sth auck organiser has asked someone else to check into it as he won't be around (something about a hairdressing appointment)
perhaps they'll manage to get something sorted in time but i wouldn't hold my breath

Dover - haircut??? Na. he gets his arse waxed... in fact he gets the trifecta - back crack and sack.
...and cheers. That's the first I knew of the cross ove with rides but it's good. Gives a better set of options if weather packs up on one of the days too

Yet again this thread is being spamed... put your weiners away and go play with each other in PD please...
Will be there for thursday ride, trolled through all the dribble on here and could not find any changes set in stone.. so I will be at shell as per usual.
The Wed ride being set up, is once a month starting next wednesday... ...not sure how it could clash with the joint rememberance ride this week???? Or have I got my dates wrong for the rememberance ride??

to be honest, most of us down here in macheteland rarely venture north. Firstly it takes so long to get across town to the better roads and secondly we have the perception that 'better roads' are few and far between up there.
the idea of topsy turvy is a good un
it'd be worthwhile for us to discover new m/cycle paradises up there and for you to discover them down here. foster the love man
I'm game and it'd give some of the angry's a chance to see which face to aim for

Bingo - as you said (kinda) ... you don't know what you don't know. There are some fucken awesome roads up here, and I know squat about the ones down there. Lots of Cops on the ones up here too... dammit.
Bugger the angry's. Ride. Some are going to be better than others and that's the way it is.

lots of cops up there is another reason we rarely venture your way.
i think you guys are described as cop magnets by the southerners and looking at it, that's a geography issue as much as anything.
you seem to have less start off options and therefore the snakes are more able to find you before you get going.
down here we have half a dozen quite different direction choices within a few km's of the meet point.
albany is a long way from Manukau but i'm keen to swap and learn if you guys are. hell, we even have a learner rider who's more than happy to ride from papakura to kaiaua then hit the motorways and look for roads north west all in the same night.
if you can get a few bods together for a ride tonight, i'm keen unless the southern men manage to organise something (yes, i suggested it).
That way the usual thursday ride would be able to be more of a memorial with no regrets about getting rid of pent up adrenaline. All dedicated bikers deserve a good send off and i hope if my time comes too soon, i'll get the same.

mate, i don't want a 40 hr job.
i'm happy selling mountainbikes and taking photos plus having extra time riding.
BTW: have you ever met a PR worker? They're like cops, labourers, IT workers, nurses, salesmen, mechanics, retail slaves etc: they all have opinions, political persuasions and can't be classified under one umbrella except their jobs; only bigots think otherwise.
so sure, if you guys wanna southerner along and can get a ride organised, i might come along. then you can tell me all about it in person.

Quite possibly - I went back and saw a fucken huge hole punched through the fence... but the bike parked on the road side of it, intact, still looking at the fence...
EH?
A previous incident had taken out the fence, DD just redecorated the lawn in front of it. Nothing too serious though - rear brake disconnected was it?

Same corner
Its a nasty corner, as it comes over a hill then sweeps right, then tightens up even further. The other week i braked for the first part of the turn, but when i tightened up, went 'screw this' and went across the grass :)
Even going slower on that corner last night it still nearly caught me out.
Maybe over the weekend we should go out and perfect that stretch of road eh?

OK guys n gals!
This Thursday 21st December will be the last ATNR for the year. The ATNR will start up again on the 11th Jan 07. For those unable to attend this last ride, have a safe Xmas and New Year - See you in 2007!
What: Last ride for 2006 followed by a Drink at the Speights Ale House :apint:
When: Thurs 21st Dec
Where: The normal spot - Shell Westgate
Time: The usual time - 6.30pm, kick tyres then depart 7pm :chase:
Why: It's the last ride for the year! :yeah:
How: On two wheels silly! :ride:
The deal:
Since this is the last ride of the year, we will be riding all the roads that have been used in the ATNR. You can expect us at the pub 9.00ish instead of the usual 8.30pm. All I can say of the roads we will be riding, there will be a figure-of-eight track after the Dairy Flat Road re-group. However a full breifing will occur before we leave Westgate No mention of the roads we ride on here please!
:wari::Punk: Let's make it a good one! :Punk: :wari:

OK Folks,
At this stage (unless there is heavy rain) the ride will be going ahead as planned................
I cannot promise that it wont rain, however the forecast is in our favour at this stage it should be clearing up and with this brisk SW coming through it may pass over faster than expected.........(so to explain, most of the crap weather should of passed already..)
Just a couple of things to note tonight:
1. Medium - High Winds
Its blowing strongly over on the North Shore and remember a good portion of the ride is over here. Also take into consideration that we do ride amongst the valleys, so expect downdrafts/higher winds than in the city :weird:
2. Holiday Traffic
Some of the roads we will take tonight are known to other road users - Cages included. A couple of roads are known as short-cuts to the North so the roads may be heavier than previous nights.
3. Longer Ride Tonight
Please make sure you fill your bike up at Westgate or where ever, expect to do around 90-120kms tonight. If you dont wish to ride that far we will have two groups split off at Dairy Flat as per a normal night.

I'm planning on doing an unofficial run along this little bit of road tomorrow night.
Anyone wishing to join my cousin and I are more than welcome. New riders welcome we will both have pillions so the ride will be sedate.
If we have extra riders I will ensure the pointer system will be used.
Leaving normal time 7:00pm from Shell Westgate
By the way we are only intending to do the ride but if anybody wishes they are welcome to join us at home (Attwood Rd off Paremoremo Rd, Albany)for a BBQ afterward. BYO everything.
Please use the calandar entry to indicate if you will be joining us for the ride no rsvp necessary for the BBQ

Hey people, didn't come to the meet last night (due to lack of funds for proper road tyres) but I'm pretty sure I saw some of you at the Four Square in Riverhead?I was coming out of the street just next to the dairy on my KLX250 :scooter: and gave a few of you a wave.
Was that you lot?

Wohooooooo that was fun last night.
I wasn't last.......
I even past 2 bikes......... now that is a change, as usually everyone passes me........
The road that we do the quick right turn on, after going over that brow of a hill until we get back to Peak Rd.... sorry if I held anyone up on that particular road...... Its not a section of that part of the ride that I like.... too many parts to the road that have been left all patchy... Mind you once I have done it a few more times I may change my mind about it.
A great night at the pub.......
I thought as Skidmark came back from where ever he had shot off to for those few minutes...... that he was being chased by the cops........ as he came flying back, all we heard was sirens flying past......... but alas they weren't after him.......
He even managed to have bolts falling off his borrowed bike and the rubber off the righthand side footpeg. Hope you didnt leave it at the pub......SM, I was considering selling it back to you.....

Thanks to Mandownunder for letting me ride on his bitch pad!
Was my first time and loved it!! It's such a different feeling being at the back and not being in control of the bike. Could actually look around and enjoy the scenery as well as see how another rider takes lines. Was such an eye opener for me. I learnt alot.
As for the pics, was my first attempt for that as well, with a bit more practise the pics will improve....aww Im such a virgin at everything!!:innocent:
So if I get to ride the bitch pad next week (fingers crossed), I'll try taking some action shots of riders riding if it pans out that way.!!

Just the first 5 mins, rest is boring as i was going slow to concentrate on my cornering that night (these vids help me learn my corners better).

Very keen to turn up for a blat this week. Been busting to join in for ages, just haven't had the spare time. Where is 'Shell Westgate' - since I don't know Auckland that well (actually some would say I don't know shit about anything....)
