The bum wipe that drove that car should have their leg amputated without any anassetic, oh and a bloody great blow to the head with a hammer just so he gets a bit of what he/she has dished out this morning. An eye for an eye? why the hell not.

Relieved to hear it Caseye. Awww man alive-poor bugga that copped it, hope they're really taking care of em in MM Hosp and eventually gets a good prosthy. NZs tool small, think they'll catch the death proof wannabe, i'd like to think they'd hand themselves in, dearly hope to read they weren't a drunk driver or anyone i know. Very sad business, aghast that they gapped it-would weigh heavily on my conscience. Yeap, riders a hard bastard with a will of fookn steel mate-balls of titanium. Too many drivers with insufficient driving skills, an ego problem and shitty mentality out there esp out south. Beware the back straights of Clevedon Papakura near where the roadworks cones are before ya hit Ardmore turn off..prayers for the maimed rider and their family..

Hey Maakz - Foot's better now, thanks. X-rays confirm no broken bones, just crushed tendon and such. They gave me painkillers for a week but the pain was mostly gone after a couple of days - just very tender now. Nasty stuff, that Voltaren, so I was glad to be off it ASAP.

Hobbling almost at walking speed now. I can ride my bike, so will be there at SASS tonight. :headbang:

Honestly, it just doesn't feel like it has that many! I must need a faster bike!

Good old panadol, that staple of paranoids and parents everywhere for ails of any kind. :niceone:

That or a big shot of whiskey: My theory is based on the fact alcohol is used as an antiseptic, and when we're sick, germs in our body travel around in our blood stream. Soooo... when we drink, alcohol enters our blood stream and travels all around our body, thereby effectively neutralising any bugs in our system. Also helps us sleep and look better too. :blip:

Well, I made it through my 6R without a hitch (except for the first quarter when they pulled me over and said I was going too slow! That and I should stick to the right-tyre track of the lane more often).

Marks given for consistent mirror checks, indication, stopping with both legs down, and hazard ID (including watching out for/staring at potential hazards during the non-hazard ID section of the test). Funny though, there were three testers who came along, one senior and two junior/trainees, imagine my surprise!

And they made me do a total of FOUR (well-executed IMHO  ) U-turns! (They must have liked my u-turns! :bleh:)

(muck aside). Gentle pootle to blow out the annoyance at coming to the conclusion that i have a luggage problem. :brick: Back lights are custom so inhibit bags and sissyback/rack/rigid mounts being put on at relative standard costs - will also mean i'll have to compromise MYs lines, thus causing ma wee sitch. :( Damnation. Well, while she did not make the ride she has just headed off to the car park. Hope you get to see the gay as Nonda there Maakz , I'd like to know , what you think.
Remember it's dark and that during the daytime and with a bit of SUN around she really does come alive and exhibits at least three distinct colours.

30th May 2012, 21:58
Well yuss, had the chance to check out the new mint NONDA replete with new paint jobby..albeit under lights outside watering hole..hmmm-apple red, tinge of sunset orange with a hint of mauve sheen and gloss. Nice..and i like the witchy decal on the tank, but the wings? Guess it distinguishes it from the others. A 'rejuvenated' NONDA, quite styly if i may say so. Guys are aghast at my obsession with colour; btw SPOKES i like the deep cherry colour of the Bandi, you look comfy on the new ride.

nzspokes
8th June 2012, 20:56
So the guys that are coming on Sunday, this may be the longest you have ridden in one day. So a few tips.

Ride your own ride. If the group is traveling outside your comfort zone, back off. You learn the most traveling at 75% of your limit. Nobody on this ride will give you grief for being to slow.

At stops, get off your bike and walk around a bit if you have time.

Remember to drink water when you can. Not gallons, just enough to stop dehydration.

If your cold and getting colder stop. Put on warmer gear or ask someone for help.

Keep an eye on your fuel. Ride distance will be approximately 260ks. There will be opportunities to refuel.

It is compulsory to have fun.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

nzspokes
9th June 2012, 16:28
Little update, times ive said are leaving times so please turn up 10 mins before. We wont have time to fuel up, have a coffee/ciggy etc at meet points.

As said before we will top up at Waimauku 5 ks from the start of the main ride.

Bring gear for all weather conditions as we may get some rain and cold en-route.

GIBBOX Mate-bad luck with the back...yep, alternate the wheat pack with some mild stretching and take some anti inflam, maybe slap on some deep heat and see how ya go. Acupuncture...Movements good, laying up is the worst thing ta do.

Tonights SASS-good to see some new faces, hope to see yous next week or when ya can make it, y'all come back now y'hear!! Anyone else out there, ESPECIALLY learners and those getting back into it-don't be shy, come along...we go for a ride, practice some slow speed skills afterward, enjoy a chinwag and cap it off with a drink/munch at our local watering hole. Aint no exclusivity here-respect the rules-road-ride and each other. Be prepared to give it a go and have a laugh.

Points for tonight-Beware of buslanes and crazed cagers..check ya mirrors constantly, watch whats goin on around ya, anticipate the hazards, scan ur horizon, look where ya wanna go, remember the 5 stages of emergency breaking and relax. See uz next week.

No idea, started feeling it around Thursday and it got worse and worse over the weekend. Just felt like there was something in my eye.

Ended up riding home last night just to get my bike back home but it was one of the worst pains of my life, like someone constantly sticking a needle in your eye.

So it's the train for me for the rest of the week unfortunately.

Ouch - you had no eye-dea how that happened? Too much riding with your visor up? Eye hope you feel better really quickly!

I'll be in my last DD class tonight. After that it's the DD practical, and then sit for my Full!

Will be along to SASS next week...

Tigadee, did I just buy a large red helmet off Trade Me from you? If so, you should have advertised it on here so you didn't have to pay Trade Me fees. :)

Ha! Wuz that you?

Yes, indeed. Didn't know what kind of response there'd be here, so didn't. But you're right, so next time...

It's a small world. ;) We exchanged emails, but I had my father come around and pick the helmet up since he lives off your road. I still haven't grabbed it off him yet. I might head over and have dinner with them tonight and get it.

I looked here first for a helmet for sale, and while I would have hoped for a large red helmet like the one you had for sale to match my bike, I would have taken any at a good price from the forums so I could get my boyfriend riding on the back of my bike. Turns out I was supporting someone that uses the Kiwi Biker forums anyway, so I'm doubly happy.

I fractured my spine and put 8 disks out of place crowd surfing at a Metallica concert. It screwed me up for years, and it was by chance that I tried a yoga class at my gym, and for the first time in a decade I found myself without back pain. I did it regularly for a year and it didn't come back. I wish I had been recommended it by a doctor.

Ah, I'd hate to think how much wasted time and frustration there is if you added all the first year biker's kill switch problems together. It'd be ridiculously high.

And if KB'd gotten a gold coin donation for every time that happened to a KBers, we'd be having KB sunday BBQs all through summer!

Are you feeling any better today?

Which one of you is getting the matching helmet though? I thought your silver helmet was pretty cool..

I tried on the helmet last night when I picked it up from my parents - while enjoying one of their lamb roasts while I was there. It doesn't quite match the bike and doesn't feel as comfortable as my silver helmet (which matched my old silver Suzuki GSXR 600 that was stolen in London last year.) I bought some red gloves off TradeMe too. Since my boyfriend has a motorcycle jacket with a little bit of red on it he can use both of them.

Different? From the talk that goes on in these forums I thought KiwiBiker was filled with fags. ;)
