Laughing here as I have an image of the story of the Berenstein Bears "Bike Story" where Poppa Bear teaches his son how to ride when in actual fact it is how not to ride. Son keeps asking for his turn now, but Poppa keeps saying just one more lesson to learn as he rides the bike and ends up crashing. Of course you wont be doing any of that. Crashing, that is.

i'm hoping to b there but no promises...may have to spend some qual time with my beautiful wife and choice as boy...
pink ribbon ride was awesome so that kinda satisfies my ride needs for a bit...
po will love some fresh paint and the attention you can spare before you become a real dad...
i found some new bars so am waiting for those to arrive and then i'll probably spend more hours than necessary trying to swap them out...i found some manx z bars...not high but should pull back toward me a bit and will definitely be different...so come 30th nov we'll b set for thunder beach and a nites camping over in whitianga...

if u do ride please take care....the wind sucks when u come out of a shelter belt...and the cagers go a bit loopy in the wind (actually the cagers just seem to b loopy regardless). So ride safe and stay upright...

bbq...i'm thinking weekend thing...probably a saturday, maybe the theme is Secret aSASSin's Sate(satay) Hook Up and Ride...i built a bit of a barbeque thing on my last return from indonesia so we can have the authentic street style food from my wife's home town...even got the recipe for the Sate Sauce from the same guy that pushes the cart over there, sooooooooooooo you can be sure of a real taste of indonesia in our own backyard (less the rats and roaches, unless you're really keen then i'll see what i can arrange).
Byo booze if you choose, although for us we have chosen a largely alcohol free lifestyle. Sorry we don't cook nor can we cook pork (a religious thing sorry). A part from that you're all welcome.
I'll sort out a day and confer back with some options...let me know who is interested...cheers:woohoo:

Whats up with ya brake? They are a very simple unit if you need help with it.

Thanks, mates! One of the calipers has seized and the pads are worn down, so George is putting new ones in on Friday.

I got by on front brakes only on Saturday to the BBQ, but not something I want to do for a nice brisk ride.

The new chain/sprockets has made a world of difference in the Hornet's behaviour. No more (or a lot less) stuttering at the low revs and snatchy engagement of the clutch. The old chain had been stretched to its limits and beyond!

Have to say though that the new chain looks pretty rough (not gold, more like aluminum) and the sprockets look very ordinary. All for $270 from Moto One - I think I may have paid too much for it (should have gotten through George, who would've gotten me a DID chain and better sprockets, according to him). But oh well, at least it's working well... just don't know how long it'll last.

George has a habit of telling people they have bought shit product if you don't get it through him. You realise the gold is just a colouring? All chains are made from the same stuff and only in a couple of factorys. They just get different labels stuck on the boxes.

I personally wont use George, his pricing he makes up on the go.

I would be just rebuilding your caliper myself. Most brake calipers I have worked on just need a good internal clean if they are sticking. But that would be uncommon on Hornets. I cleaned mine out when i fitted the braided lines and at 70000ks they were like new inside.

Hell! I totally forgot. Next week.....

No worries... It was a winsome threesome last night, with xXGIBBOXx, me and new fella Douglas on his brand new Kawa green ER-6.

Looking forward to the return of our mentor(s) and fellow aSASSins next week.

Should make it next week, I managed to weasle my way into sitting my full license test on the 23rd by converting my Cook Island license I got over new years ;) (dw I've had my learners for 2 years just been slack/too busy to progress further, along with a few hiccups) but some more practice will be great
