I finally made it to a SASS night after a bit of a break. :banana:Nice little pootle round the Franklin backblocks then to the watering hole. Interesting 'conversation' :girlfight: - nice to catch up with longtime asSASSins :niceone: and see a couple new faces.

Haha healthy debate is good for the soul. What's the point in having opinions if you don't voice them. And it's not as fun if people agree with you. So much better when your up against someone who's more articulate and knowledgeable on the topic!!!

Very bumpy road. Thanks for the advice on cornering and breaking/slowing down/not hurting parts of my baby I didn't know existed lol.

You dont always ride on nice well street lighted streets when riding. It all adds to the flavor. Me, I like rides like that. :shifty:

Baby steps for me I think. That was pushing my skill level (or lack thereof).

Was very much a learning curve.

*pun entirely intended* :p

Suspiria de profundis, longum iter est per praeceptia, experientia docet-autem, imprudentia, inscientia est opinion praeiundicata nunc innupta dextera ab propaganda. Rusty but I think you'll get the gist.

Debate is healthy and having an opinion is an admirable quality. I can see you enjoy provocation and challenge, we're a mixed bunch and are definitely up to talking turkey..but we usually talk shit, catch up and knock sum back at watering holes. Seriousity gets put on the back burner unless its bike talk. However Missy, you come back ya hear, it'll be good for expanding ur horizons and we can work on ur baby steps, cornering and night riding. :niceone:Once you get ur technique right, ur confidence up and are familiar with the roads by night it'll be better and you'll feel more at ease. The repetitive nature of the route helps so that unknown factor is taken out of play and you can concentrate on your riding moves. You'll also get used to the way each of us rides, and will learn to anticipate how each rider fuses adaptation to their bike, with technique and style. We don't ride to race, we're practicing technique and unless you do something totally bizarre and have a brain explosion that puts others at risk, we're not there to judge. :msn-wink:But we are blunt in delivering truths. Forewarned.:headbang:

nzspokes
22nd July 2013, 22:34
Phillip from Riderskills (who is the best trainer in the world) has offered to Sass learner riders some free training under the set up of the CBTA. So this is to help L platers prepare for the restricted test. Cost on this is nothing, nada, nil. This offer is something that you dont see often, even more so with the team from Riderskills. They are the best.

I would normally recommend Phillip from Riderskills as I believe he is the best in the business. That makes this deal amazing.

But for non-L platers Riderskills is still the best, may not be the cheapest but quality is never the lowest price.

Contact Phillip directly on 021 710 792 or info@riderskills.co.nz.

No sorry. SASS ends up being too much of a late night for me being sick. And a friend has just passed his licence today so figured I'd take him on a short north run. If I can stop sniffing enough to ride my way home.

Oh Spoke, Gibbox and I wondered bout cha. Figured it was either ur tyre or electrics. Bummer-any idea how it occurred or something random run over? Thankfully never had that yet. BUT, have had someone let my front tyre down but did the girly thing and rang AA. Oh btw, for those of you who venture to High St car park in the CBD, beware the exit barrier arms. They've figured out that motorbikes will get in and park for free in clear spaces and they've figured out they can't enforce breach order notices cos motorcyclists aren't technically in breach if they don't take a ticket (that's evidence of contractual agreement)...SO...what they're doing is lengthening the barrier arms and putting rigid pole bollards on the other sides, to prevent motorcyclist flouting the pay policy and so that bikes have difficulty getting around the arms. At the moment the right hand exit lanes have enough to get around, but that'll change soon. Last week same arm barriers, this week, one new set. They won't post notice, so don't take it for granted or you'll be in a pickle.

I tried taking a ticket and paying legit at a different parking lot. My bike didn't register on their sensor and it wouldn't give me a ticket. So I just went around. Bit of a dilemma if you can't go around and can't get a ticket.

Hey yáll, great to meet Danzano and Zippo tonight. Sorry bout the we pit stop enroute on the last section, hit something then fudged a downshift after and got para bout my wheel getting a flatty. Wheel felt heavy and lagging but not out of kilter as with a major puncture, possible slow leak, so we'll see by the morrow. Anyhoo, split off from the pack round Manix and headed for light source at petrol station for the quick check and then made for home. Hope the car park sesh was good and yous were able to hit the watering hole after. Danzano and Zippo, yous looked pretty slick out there. Um impressed by the lights you have D...not so bright as to be overpowering but good output and dispersal. :2thumbsup

Bumma bout the no shows Sis, next week. BTW, who did i pass on the Hill Rd overbridge? I'd just come off the motorway heading towards Southmall and a bike blatted by giving me a toot, couldn't quite make it out in the dark?

OMG very trying night. Two a$$hole cars blocked me in at the Victoria St car park building (near work) by parking like retards on phenobarbital-late model green Rav 4 -TD3429 & a black Audi DJR679 boxed me in. If they hadn't parked like dunces, there'd be ample room to get out, but it was obvious they'd parked to deliberately box me in. :violin:The Rav had parked a meter away from its front end park barrier and the Audi had parked on diagonal into the yellow lined wedge adjacent. :Oi:AND before you ask, the other spot I've gravitated towards lately was taken by another bike, to be fair, first come first serve so I was $hit outta luck this morning...then there's the fact that grown up bikes can't fit in the MDZ (motorcycle designated zone) entry way much less compete with the High St scooter mafia that packs it out. :blink:SO, after trying to negotiate car park and Council bureaucratic hierarchy for 20 mins, i'm able to corner the hapless and hopeless rent a cop night 'watch' guy who passes for security. That twig of a male whose kneck I could snap without breaking a sweat, cos he's a F%#@*EN PIGMY, says to me you can get out if you ride over the bollards and squeeze through any of the gaps. Duh, 260kg plus Harley with westerns just aint gonna fit through there genius!! Put down the KRAK pipe stupid.:weird: MOFO then decides he can't give a F*@K and buggaz off. His parting shot, um not parked in the MDZ and i'm not a paying customer, therefore its my problem...HOLD UP? WTF did you just say? :angry2:

Tried to serve me with a breach notice for not paying-urm, I didn't take a ticket and therefore didn't have a contractual agreement (which worked against me:facepalm:) and then said i'd breached Council building rules...Inept-clueless and probably with a smirk he scuttled back to his dinky little pseudo cage parked round the corner. 48 mins later, 7 phone calls, 5 assistance calls on ticket machines, several universal bird signs to the CCTV cameras on both fingers and 20 camera pics later of 'evidence', i'm able to hightail it out of there when a car several spaces over moves. LUCKY lucky, cos its $100 for the towing contractor to be called out, and the onus is on YOU if ur technically not a customer...guy didn't give a toss about the two parked cars, one of which was in a yellow kiddie friendly carpark and parked diagonally like a banana. GO figure. So on the way down, petty as it was, I gave the rent a cop :finger:an ear full of pipe noise in an enclosed space...down 6 floors.:headbang: SO NOT my night.<_<

So, beware my fellow motorcyclists who deign to sully the Victoria St park building, of entitled Auckland F&@%$tard cagers :tugger:who park like they're trippin AND rent a cops:tugger: for the Super $HITTY Council who have penile dysfunction. If you find yourself in real trouble in this car park building esp at night, even with the CCTV cameras and ticketing machines with emergency assistance buttons, DO NOT expect help from rent a cop and co, know that you WILL die before they lift a finger to help and then Council will absolve themselves of any culpability. :shake:

CHRIST ALMIGHTY - MY and I are total beacons for negative male attention these days...had ta find my happy place in order to get home, otherwise it'd be jail or the morgue. 3 years parking in the same spot then BAM...total cluster F@#K. No doubt the harassment will continue for as long as I continue to park in this building...but not that much choice and i also don't think it'll matter where I park, the problems will continue. I rocked up to a free space last week, regularly used by other bikes-its out of the way, no yellow lines, no impediment to pedestrians or other commuter vehicles, so no problem or so I thought. Well, R.o.C parked up 2 meters out of his park just enough to make parking in that available free space too dodgy to enter/exit. I wasn't gonna tempt fate, but it seems there's not much luv for bikes. Would that MY could have pride of place like Sergio, at least Sergio is admired and appreciated, MYs gonna end up being defaced non too soon. AND YES< this is cathartic whinging on a grand scale.

You know what you need, Maakz?

A Tazer... The shock will induce short-term memory loss and they won't remember what happened, while you get the satisfaction of taking them down. :devil2: Just make sure you're in the CCTVs' blind spots...

Otherwise, a less violent but equally satisfying solution is laxative pills put into a mint box... Sweetly offer some to them as a 'peace offering'... As you ride away, you'll laugh out loud to the view in your mirrors of them scurrying to the toilet! Bwhahahahaha!

Meanwhile, here's something to calm your jangled nerves...

I have to admit that I am soooo fortunate to be able to park Sergio in a safe place. And where his lines can be admired.
The morning sun shines in on the chrome, glinting and winking at passers-by. He often has admirers and I find even myself walking past, thinking Sergio is not looking too bad, or looking BAD, depending on your age and upbringing.

It's interesting how more often cars move out of the way now on this bike than the old one. Was a great night. And nearly a full moon.

By the way, I have done that trip I was talking about. Did it today.
As with all rides, still a bit "buzzed"

I will bring the pics next SASS.
I wanted to do funnier things with my bike but I didn't want to put my bike in danger.
Did a few shots, like lying on the ground and taking photos. Wearing bike gear has its uses.
That Adrian Worsley Studio is only open Sat & Sun 10-3.
We might just have to make a special SASS trip one weekend.
From what I could see, cool stuff.

I doubt I will be there. I have some injections going on that may effect my riding for a few days tomorrow.

Below is a statement that has come up in another thread which I like a lot. Has to do with head checks but relevant to all riding.

Stolen from Gremlin.

You should never go somewhere where your eyes haven't already been.

I was keen to have a ride (hadn't all week) tomorrow AND I've finally adjusted my chain yesterday (been so busy with helping the sister-in-law move house and with the daughters sick). Think I did a good job but need to make another check with a more accurate measuring instrument to make sure the alignment's good. But of course the weather has to suck tomorrow... :(

But can still meet up for beer 'n chips tomorrow night... :niceone:

Spokes - Hope you come right... and that they don't insist on acupuncture!

needles suck and looks like the weather is also going to suck...sorry but wont b there to enjoy the chips if the weather does custard-out...
but on a lighter note haven't we been blessed with some good riding weather over the last few weeks/months...
if it's nice i'll ride...if not then i'll prolly shoot some freaks on the xbox with my boy...:headbang:

Ah, nothing like a little video game violence to bring about some male bonding... Have fun, TheAntidote!

Have to count me out tonight for the chips and beer, I'm afraid. My whole family's down with a bug - luckily I'm been spared, so I get to play doctor... Whoopee! :doctor: Ja, zer doktor is een!
