Nah 3rd time man but was nice to have a wee ride before having a chat 'n bourbon.

Problem with drag strips (Maru St in this case) they usually only have 1 exit.

Just wanted to say thanks Jimbo for organising the ride yesterday. It was a really good bunch of bikes/people and also nice we stuck together so well. The whole ride was just what I needed to finally try to get into the groove with the Aprilia. Some of those mid island roads really reminded me of some of the awesome Norfland roads we have left behind, I will be hunting them out again soon.
Enjoyed blasting home on the ZX10 as much as DMNTD enjoyed nana-ing home on the Aprilia. Looking forward to more of these Towelronga rides soon.:rockon:

We did actually consider riding to the top of the Kaimai's at sunset and getting some pic's but we thought about it too late and would have missed it by the time we got ready and got up there. Well finally getting out of this place and into a house near Bay fair where my bike will only be sharing the garage with 2 other bikes and my tools.

Me, my dad and my brother just signed a lease agreement for a tidy little three bedroom home and moving in tomorrow. So I may be offline for a while untill we get internet set up there.

I think all of you are on my buddy list so you can see my cell number in my profile if you want to get ahold of me before I get online again. Hopefully someone will be nice and keep me informed on what pub we are meeting at and any rides going on I might be interested in.

Sounds like a good ride - I'm still going to join in on a ride soon - promise,
- I should've yesterday - I had to work in the morning and decided late yesterday afternoon to go for a quick ride round the back of the lakes.
Roads were perfect and dry and so we did go 'quick' - coming back I binned it on a tight left hander. Slowed up too quick and straightened up - was crossing centre line and see a ute coming - It was a case of hitting him head on or dropping bike - took the latter option - hence I'm able to post this. Stupid! Stupid!
Lucky it was a left hander - Only a bit scratched up on the left and indicator gone as well as gear change busted. Managed to ride home but had a painful night - hurt rib and pulled shoulder.
Hopefully see ya all on Thursday night.

He said it got a bit wobbly but no drama's...Yvonne came to the rescue in the trusty ol ute and they went back to Kopu pub for a bit :sunny:

Your right on all counts, awesome riding with Dragonfly everytime, I smiled for our group when we saw the fuzz cause we was being good citizens as we usually are:yes: , and yep, I reckon there is definately a nationwide challenge on to see if that burger can be beaten. In fact Im specially going to go back and order one so we can post a pic and see who else can come up with better. Well, after everything looking to go smoothly for tomorrow, my fucking bike catches fire outside of dicksmith on 11th. Regulator rectifier is completly fucked now and the bike only runs for aslong as the charge in the battery lasts.

Didn't even get a chance to scrub in the new tyre. Mark and Rick will be laughing their asses off reading this, the shit I've given them while off thier bikes.

So for those that were gonna be riding up with me from Summit BP for the Westpac run, I wont be there. Wont even be able to ride till I get a new reg/rec and god only knows when that is gonna be.

Funny thing, pushing the bike along the causeway twords bay park (where I was when the battery went flat, just after the bridge then the uphill where it opens to two lanes) A guy on a BMW K100 going the other way turned around and came back to see what was up then went home to get his trailer and while waiting for him a guy on a silver and grey R1 (also going the other way) also came back to see what was up. But the 4 cruisers that went past heading the same way as me just road on past without so much as a wave.



But on a possitve note, the new tyre has a bit more profile to the tread so I don't have to worry about running off the edge of it as often.

At least yours gave you warning. Mine died without warning so I carried on riding and the @#$ng thing cut out at night in the gorge between Waihi and Paeroa. If your reg/rect gets too hot like my viffer one you might want to fit a small PC cooling fan or a big heatsink to the replacement. It's a piece of p!$$ to do. Seems to have stopped my new one melting.
