One of the concept bikes Yamaha is putting out for this years Tokyo motor show. OR something like that. Mate of mine on the Vmax forum found it.
Powered by a V-twin of undisclosed capacity the article said. I reckon since the main body has the relative shape of the R1 or R6( tank, seat, tail) it should be powered by the motor of an R1 or R6. That ought to make it lot of fun.

And no I wont be getting it, I'de have to sit in traffic then.

But most people can handle their bikes/quads better than that.

That comment was purely from an aesthetical perspective, then again, it could be interesting to ride, if it somehow leans...

I reckon it must lean or else why would it have bike tyres with a round profile designed to lean in a corner insted of car tyres that have heaps of flat grip.

well only as 1 more hp, which is next to nothing really, that could due to temp/humity/etc etc.

But still found it interesting the full yoshi race system, simlar sorta hp than the dual two bros slip ons. since everything else on bikes is same, not to sure on km difference on both bikes tho

It actually worked out to be less than 1HP when I showed the 2 maps over laying each other.
Our '14 is producing its HP much faster and its torque is higher down low and near the top too.
Since Wazza's bike has higher kms one would surmise that it would have a higher reading due to it being a freer(loser) running motor.
Very odd indeed eh but all good.

I'd hate to see you two trying to give each other the learn. He's a competitive bugger, but man he can ride!

I did ask re that down at GP and apparently it has zero to do with it.
Maybe he has a "Friday bike"? Maybe the Two Bro duel half system works better with its configuration?
I dunno, don't really care as we didn't dyno it for wank factor, just to tune it.

Yeah maybe the dual system, is instead of the single is helping with pressure or something which help.

Still interesting, maybe goes to show a full system, isn't always the best opinion

Weather is not what I expected today, so not sure if people still want a ride or not this afternoon? Hopefully it will clear enough, I have new suspension adjustment to try out.
Be warned, there is a nasty diesel slick on the outside lane coming up the other side of the Kaimai's, about three corners before the top. Its a beauty and I would not recommend messing around with it.
I'll check the thread about 3.30-4pm to see if there are any takers for a ride tonight, if not, see you at Drivers (I havent been for a few weeks)

Well that was a great start to the long weekend.

Just thought I might as well shoot out for a little blat over the hill just to get back into the mix of things after not riding for a week or so.

So I warmed up the bike and headed up there, good weather, a little chilly though, but nevertheless better than what we've currently been having.

Got to the top and remembered that Unit mentioned a diesel spill on the steep side, so I took my time on the way down and only went a tiny bit quicker on the way up, thought I might as well scope things out. All clear, could see where the spill had been though, just near the top before the last set of really tight corners. Great. :scooter:

Shot back down at a medium place to just let the tyres warm up a bit before the fun started. Then the holiday traffic arrived. Feck!!! Didnt matter though because on the way up the majority of people were kind enough to get out of my way. On the way down however, people obviously didnt realise that the slow vehicle lanes aren't just for the trucks, sheesh. :angry2:

Anywho, on the way back up I noticed a black R6 had pulled over (he had a pillion) and let his mrs on the back off, probably to let her stretch or something, wrong lol. He left her there for about 10 minutes while he shot up and down a few times. Each time I went passed Id notice her standing there looking bored as hell, couldnt help but laugh... priorities eh?

To the rider of the maroon harley davidson, sorry if I pissed you off when I overtook you on the way down but it wasnt like you were going any quicker than the rest of the traffic, and it looked like your pegs were going to dig into the road if you leaned over any further than 10 degrees. Therefore there was no reason to act like a smartass shithead and blow past me that close while I was taking over another car. Just immature. I know you may feel like shit because you were overtaken by a 250 but having to make yourself feel better by riding dangerously isnt cool. :nono:

So I kept shooting up and down for a while, just focussing on smooth transitions from one side of the bike to the other, taking off the damn chicken strips that were still there....

Ended up spending a good hour and a half up there, and chopping down the strips to the point where I was quite happy  so headed home.

Good to see quite a few other bikes out there.

-Mike.

PS. anyone keen for a blat on Sunday? (would have to be back by 3pm, but could still make good use of the time ive got)

Ever seen lord of the rings?

Was driving back to Auckland after working out of our Tauranga office for the day. Saw you and R6 Guy up the Kaimas and then going back down. Looked like fun! Laughed when I saw R6 Dude's girl standing on the side of the road waiting for him to do his up and down thing.

Had lunch at Drivers. Was nice to eat my steak sandwich with DMNTDs boots in full view.:eek5:

I went to rotorua for lunch and then back over the kaimais via the okororie route.

I love doing that too! I tend to sit beside them for a sec, let them see I'm a GIRL and then gas it :Pokey: I've had a couple drive like retards because they didn't want a bike to pass them. Like they've got a shitshow against the mighty RSV...

Nice one, then again, doing it on an RSV isnt very hard is it?

I was up near redline most of the time leaning further than i ever had going nuts, and still only just managed to beat this dude. :eek5:

And he was cutting the centre line and using 2 lanes in places.

I have to admit that i had a huge grin when i took him on the outside, leaning enough, and being so close to his car that i probably could have stuck out my head a bit further and had a chat to him.

Is it the same one you have to do for a car licence as well?

Quartermile was telling me you have to drive a car and stuff in it, even for your bike licence. Thats retarded!

It's 4 x 2 hour class sessions then a one hour drive to see you took in what you learnt. The car part lasted 20 mins for me though, as most of the content is preparation for the full car test, so yeah, not really a motorcycle orientated course. It's really just a cash cow aimed at those who want to get their car licences quicker - I had 20 years on all on the course I was on. Some were my son's class mates lol.

Regardless, it's still not a bad course that makes you think more about "what if" and teaches you to see hazards as much more than visual. You are the biggest hazard sometimes. Recognising when you are feeling 'off' can save your life :)

I am going to make my son do it when he gets past 6 months on his Restricted.

Same one as for the cage licence, so its all car orientated.

I talked to the wife of the guy who's running it about the whole 'driving' part of the course, and they said since its mainly just hazard identification it should be ok for me to just jump in the passenger seat and do the same stuff without driving.

Which is good.

Find a mechanic you like Ralfy old boy and sick with them... watch out for young fullas who dont know shit and old fullas that are only around for the pay cheque.

If your only getting a service because its due for an oil change... tell them what work you want done... ie air-filter clean, new oil filter and oil, it's not much use going the whole 10 yards if its running fine.
But if its running a bit off get a diagnostic done, this should point out inject ballance problems, fuel mixture, temperature amoung other things.

Sweet photos guys I like one of saul and the sparks :niceone: looks like it was
a mint day :sunny: Looking forward to another track day with a few TGA crew.

Had a track day today but only got 3 & a bit sessions since the rain
decided to join in  Still a great day enjoyed the ride there as much as
going around the track :ride:

Only one bin but two bike's both are ok well one is the other got a broken
collar bone :pinch:

Well I must say I have discovered my brakes finally, always wondered why
there wasn't much feel turns out I was barely using them had the back lift on
me a few times :shit: but I do have to brag a little as I'm very pleased with
how my riding has improved over the last track day I did and it's nice to have
extra power, I can actually pass down the straights and under brakes :2thumbsup
Plus it's the first time my knee has touched every left hand turn :D well
maybe not the one at the end of the straight.
Now to work on cornering right, not worried bout getting my knee down
just need to build confidence.

Was good to see a good contingent of pep's represent the ride yesterday. It was an awesome turn out. I spoke with Daniels mum at the museum. She said that Daniel had spoken to them about the wire barriers on several occasions and how dangerous he thought they were. Big thanks goes to Felix, Jen, and yes Crashie too (for lobbying the Labour Party conference) there was obviously a lot of work done in the past week.
Has anyone got a sheet for getting more signatures on? Would be good to get Chris and Donna involved at Drivers Bar, given the promotion is safety for all road users where these barriers are concerned.
