Yep thats right Mark. Repo is about not paying. Impoundment has some odd laws around it, and can be 'managed' if ya know them. Having said that, if you owe money, and your bike is impounded, then the finance company has to bust the bike out of impoundment to uphold their claim, otherwise if they let it slide, they forfeit to the crown also

i have some personal experience with this situation and it prevented my bike from being crushed. just say when your in court you sold it before the date it got impounded. the ownership of a vehicle is not transfered when the papers are put thru, it is transfered when the agreement is made and the money handed over. so they cannot touch the vehicle, the only way they can touch it is put a caviate or a hold over the vehicle while you still own it which means you cannot sell it or dispose of it so he would have to say he has already sold the bike before he has gone to court.
but aslong as you can give them a number of a friend who will say they bought it off you at that date then you should have no problem they cannot confiscate or crush a vehicle thats not urs. then buy the bike back off him later

Not sure about insurance on your type of bike, Im sure there must be a thread about it do a search on insurance. Mine is $950 a year $500 excess. Who are you insured through?

he asked his lawer he said sweet no loss i went next time and said are you sure as knowing this law well he says dont count a forbid as a disqualified

Does feel like nothing other than revenue collecting in this sort of situation doesnt it. A warning would have sufficed, and probably had more effect. At least after a warning one goes 'whew, that was lucky, better slow down', but after a bullshit ticket one tends to go 'fuck the revenue collecting bastards' and twists the throttle.

Always a great afternoon. Had to take the spare bike again (ho hum :rolleyes:) as my beautiful ZX14 was gone back up Norf, oh well, Im learning heaps on the MV.

Had a mint weekend in Taupo, far tooo much piss drinking! Has anyone riden up the bruce rode to whakapapa? Mate it is awesome! Smooth as a race track, great scenery. Had a race down the mountain with the engines switched of (ghost racing!), it was wierd riding and it being so quite you could talk to each other! getting speeds of up to about 80ish.

The corporal isnt sounding so great, lucky I had to trailer the bike home anyway cause it might not have made it! Something has come unstuck inside the left side engine case. I expect its the stator or what ever cover? Something is hitting the engine case from the inside, I am hoping it just a loose bolt or something easy that wont stop me form going to the track day this friday. Oh well at least it still did a mean 4th gear burnout! 1 tyre down 3 more ready to go!

This is the thing, alot of people think that getting ya knee down=going fast, but it can actually stop you getting faster.

If you watch the GP guys they touch there knee down and then pull it up as there lean angle increase's.

Most of the peep's I see get there knee down and stop there, their knee actually stops them from leaning over further.

I followed both you and your mate in both of the groups...
