Now while wheeling the bike is (yawn, sigh :calm:) neither smart or clever I gotta say that after downloading a new map with my tuneboy software (which is fantastic) I can now get the girlz bike skyward and in control in third with out any crests or bumps.

Now while this is fairly easy on a 1000cc bike I have not been able to do this on any 600 that I have had.

I'm a bit rapped really.:hug:

Well my nice first (decent) ride since I got Ratty :wari: It was so Fantasticly great to get out and about, I still have to do a bit more practice to get used to it all again, both body and mind. Rode with a bunch of peeps I had not riden with before, as well Saul and Blackbird 2, Oh and Korn met us at Tirua. Was a bit of a nice suprise to get to a major intersection and find a group of bikes waiting for me.. I dare say they will get over that within a couple more rides however ;).
We left Tauraunga went Waihi, Whanga, Tirua, Coroglen, Kopu Te Aroha back road, Oko, then Kaimais home :scooter: No bins, no flats, pure bliss of an uneventful ride :sunny: Couldn't have asked for anything more, though if I could A spa would have been good when I got home to soothe the old muscles that hadn't been used in a while. :laugh:
Was great to finally ride with Naughty ... she rocked and Rolled! (well for the couple of minutes I did keep up with her after leaving.. i think it was Tirua) :hug:

Question! If the memorial ride is organised by Bikers Against Drunk Driving, why are we going to a pub? I will go along and support it because I worked with one of the fallin, Toni. But having a stop over at a pub seems a bit hypocritical, as much as I love the Oko, and riding after a few beers!! (hmm maybe they need to vet riders too?) Either way I am part of the posuer crew and , well, I like to pose! and what better way to do it than with 400 other bikers..

I was looking forward to participating in the BADD memorial run today, but the weather is far too shit and it just wouldnt have been much fun. Cant actually believe they still ran it when they appeared to have contingency paln in place and a postponement date. Oh well next year. The Corporal and I had a minute silence for the fallin riders.

I know the place well and I've seen the bike in there. They usually clean them up before sale but they have imported a lot of 250s at the moment so some sit for a while. I would say it is in alright condition but I wouldn't be surprised if it hasnt been run for years, some of those bikes sit in Japan for years before being exported to here.

Well I arrived here today to get away from the bad weather and guess what, there are thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow, which will not impress me as Im getting my new hair do in the morning. Half my bloody luck, I want a refund from the Aussie government for false advertising, come to the gold coast for sunshine, yea right. I guess you guys are going to have nothing but beautiful weather for the next five days.
Anyway, food is cheap, beer is horrifically expensive ($18 for a 1/2 doz of some strange sounding lager), except if you drink at the pub, then a scooner is ony $3.50, or a middy $2.00! Now I know why all the Aussie sit in the pubs all day. Yep, it was busy at 10am this morning. Off to Pacific Fair and Surfers tomorrow, then Brisbane on Saturday.

Well it was a mint day for it boys! I'm bloody jealous.

I think I have fixed all the engine leaks in the Corporal, I will take it for a spin in the morning to check it out, then I just might have to do a trip over to the oko just to give it a shakedown run and make sure all is good. Once I have done that, about another 150k and it will be run in then it is all on!!!:2guns:

Hired a car and went down to Byron Bay today. Now I really fell in love with that place. Awesome little town and there must be some great riding roads around as there were plenty of bikes pulling in. Have seen nothing but cruisers up here in Coolangatta,but saw some real bikes down at Byron. The beach and surrounding area is more like NZ. We drove down a secondary highway from Murwillingbah which was indeed a great motorcycling road, exept for the fact the speed limit was 90ks. I havent seen a highway patrol the whole time Ive been here though, but they have loads of speed cameras everywhere especially on the Pacific Highway. Heading home tomorrow (have to no money left). Would love to come back and try some of these off the main track roads though. Oh, and I saw a 1098s tri colour, with a PACK RACK! I know, I almost told the guy off!

Well I couldnt make it on the Coro ride since I spent Saturday out and about riding but I did get over to Oko and made several runs up and down the Kaimais.

No rain for us!!! It was a bit windy and cold at the Kaimai look out but Oko was bloody awesome, laying on the grass with a few beers listening to music:Punk: what a beeter way to spend a sunday!

The Coroporal now has nearing 400k on it so Sunday was time to open her up and see what she could do. Holy f#ck! It was awsome, soooo much more torque than before the bike got the big torque wobble in between gear changes and I actually had to hang on for dear life!!:eek: The bike is better than I thought it would be!

Another great day out. Finished the day off with swapsies so g could rape my bike and make it do wheelies. Apart from nearly flipping it, which I didnt get on camera the rest of the footage...well the wheelie action was disappointing. But in my favour he said "thats a great bike."!! :laugh:

Thanks for the comments on the Corporal!! I had a great day out, the new front tyre does the business and has built my confidence, not quite able to keep up with Saul, Jimbo or Newblade yet but I think I'm getting faster.

I had one big arse scary moment when a van with a trailler did a U turn in front of me in Tairua, it was a full lock up at 80k, managed to keep the bike upright and stop 1 meter from the van. Yes I was yelling and swearing at the driver considering there were like 8 of us and I was second to last and he still pulled out! What the!
