As some of you will know I’ve had a bit of a crash up at the Coromandel hill on Wednesday. Im keeping some details of it off KB. But basically I came off at about 70-80k’s and went off the road blah blah blah…… Thames hospital on Wednesday, Waikato on Thursday etc.

I’ve got nothing on Calvin (you tough bastard) I was lucky to come off so well.

So I’ve got 20 something stitches inside my mouth, holding my bottom lip and chin onto my jaw. Then some more on my right hand from where something (probably a rock on the side of the road) sliced straight through my glove and made a good steak thickness bit of meat stick up off my palm. At the moment I’m getting around on an office chair because my left foot/ ankle and right knee are a little bit munted so I can only stand up but cant walk by myself. Also because a wheelchair is too wide to fit in the doors at our place.

But other than that its just a case of feeling like shit and a few cuts and bruises etc A few of which are on my face (I might have gone head first I don’t know, I cant remember the impact I was knocked out for a bit) So its good that the important bits like my neck/back weren’t damaged. I’m glad that it didn’t turn out worse.

They may just write it off Mike because it doesnt take much as stated earlier. Take the repair cost off the insured price and make them an offer under that, you just might be surprised. As long as the main frame and front end are straight it could be worth it. You may get it back on the road for bugger all! It would look like its been binned but it would be warrantable. Then on sell it and to top up your new bike fund.

On another note, a little word of warning about the Coro loop... Mate got chased and nabbed by the law in Tairua (cuffed and stuffed, court on Friday...) apparently they have had enough of the Coro GP and are cracking down...dont take this lightly as unfortunately they mean business this time!!

Anyway here is a vid of a mate doing a burnout, but the tyre was a steel belted and when the belts let go it wrapped around the chain and hub as well as cutting the hugger, smahing the taillight, wrecked the number plate and left a few scratches on the tail section. Doh! He wasnt too worried, before that he was doing cool rolling burnouts!

Just called into Bay City tonight and they said of all the bikes they have checked no problems, there has only been one in the country so far thats had to be fixed. Seems the machine was set to tighten bolts etc too tight, hopefully yours and mine arent in that small batch, chances are we are all good. Also sussed out cost for 24,000km service today, ouch :crybaby: as mine is now due. Im off to Aussie in August so bike will be parked up till I get back probably and I know how many pennies are left in my pocket (I'll keep thinking bike service while Im away, probably a good think will stop me buying stupid stuff made by Australians :shutup:).

DMNTD showed off his evasion skills when my Kerker can decided it didnt want to be part of my bike anymore and bounced down the road!:Oops: Lucky it didnt hit the new 1098! I'm sure I would have gotten more than and earfull!!!
