No sign of the WR yet?
I will be making a frame to mounts spots to down the track but I have spotlights I gave my brother that he didn't use, I have an LED headlight bulb but the KTM doesn't use the H3 bulb......might make it fit if the other light doesn't turn up soon :)
Not sure how far I would get on this tank....At least you can see the level on the safari tank :)

You trade the DR for a KTM?

time for a trip away!!
Good idea!
OK SATNR riders, anyone fancy a quiet pootle to Da Far Norf?
Maybe a Saturday midday ride off a coupla hours in the saddle to Whangarei, a night with mates and a chance to show off yer old bike or new one if thats the case at a rather large car park associated with an accomodation place I know of, up there.
So details.
Ride off on Saturday from the Auto Bahn BP on the Southern Motorway at Papakura at 12 OÇlock on the dot.
Norf via 16 perhaps stop for arvo tea at say Te Hana.
Arrive Whangarei about 3-4pm stash the bikes, set up the glad rags and out to the local scene.
This could happen as soon as next weekend, a weekend I believe will be blessed with fine weather.
Come on put your names on ere and lets see if we can make it work that quickly.
Murray, is there room at da inn?
Perhaps an in house dinner and breeky, with the house bar open for the group.
I can think of at least 2 who would be available and KEEN.;):2thumbsup:2thumbsup
Bit of a tcky tour round town if desired.

I would be keen. Can do with a cruise.
We are working on site Saturday morning. But I think i can organise it so it won't interfere.
Can't stay as have to be back Papakura 7pm on Sat
:wait: :chase:
Same problem this week with 7pm Papakura - won't be there this Thursday. :chase: (sigh of relief from the real bike riders)
I am interested in looking at the KTM and what you all think of it.
Oldguy about time you got that bike from under the lounge table. Give it a polish and let's be seeing it in the flesh. Sounds like you have had a visit from those undersireables lately.

Planned on attending tonight.
But overtaken by other unplanned agendas.
I did manage a bike ride during the day, which was nice even if the traffic was at a standstill for almost 15 minutes crawling along. Once moving and the traffic parted for me to cruise along alone.
Plan on the 2020 Southern Odyssey for kicks over the new year- top of the south island above Hokitika-CHCH line:bleh: 1100 km.

Well the ride left a bit later than 7pm, about 7.10pm, thought there were a couple of lost looking souls circling the car park looking for the SATNR ride, but no, waiting for their mates to come up, so they could ride to Pokeno.
Weather: Excellent.
Road Conditions: Amazing.
Traffic Density: So, Lowwww.
Route, short and sweet.
Next week should see the return of one or two of the older hands from Hol's and time away.
See you all then.

Kia ora everyone,
my name is Álvaro and I'm new to this forum. Actually I'm quite new to the motorbike world. It's something that have been going through my head for quite some time and finally I've decided to get my license this Saturday. I thought that a bike would be a good way to enjoy the awesome NZ scenery on weekends and a handy way to commute the rest of the week.
I was suggested to join this group as I will need help to learn, especially at first. To be honest, I'm a little bit scared so having someone to help me during my first months would be a big plus. I've been told you get together weekly.
Also tips on the first LAMS motorbike are appreciated :) I've seen that there're so many options (sports bikes, step-throughs,...)...
Regards,
Álvaro

Once you pass your learners look into the riderskills courses as they teach you a lot, Bronze is only $20 for a day course
As for bikes it depends a lot on your size and use what you get ;)

Safer - no worries. Sometimes these things happen. Other times the weather isnt suitable or whatever. We dont show either.
Nice pic of the bike Leathel. :):Punk:
I did enjoy the ride and the bike maintenance stuff, way different to the usual day job.
Old Guy, just read your thread about stolen bikes.
That's a shame.
Plenty of them that dont give a monkey's about other people's gear. And PC gone mad, hit them with a wet bus ticket.......
Anyhow hopefully you can get it sorted and a bit of Karma wouldn't come amiss.
C u soon hopefully, you can compare notes, with the other traille riders, it's a growing trend.
And maybe solve the numb arse syndrome.

Only 1 short road works south of Te Kuiti
Almost 0 dickheads, which was a relief.
The ride reinforced those skills picked up by riding with experienced others, like this thread.
Still got a long way to go, but its a huge improvement recently.
Nearly an hour off my previous time.
Kept to the limit and getting stops organised.
Bike ran just like a dream:Punk:

Made it back.
came back today, yesterday I wouldn’t have made it wind too strong, some of the gusts, whew.
despite the wind gusts, hail x 2, rain, the usual knumbnuts as you get closer to akl
only saw 1 car in ditch, and another set of ambo, police etc going to another event.
cold fingers.
all good.

:apint: Hey me ol mate, yah still out there holding the fort:niceone: As you may know I got both bikes back. Got the Honda back a week after it disappeared, and the WR about 2 weeks before we went into level 4 lockdown. Both bikes needing a little bit of work, to put back on the road (legally):( The Honda came back minus, 1 muffler no battery, wrecked ignition barrel, gas cap and rear seat lock, and missing number plate. I was very lucky to get a ignition barrel and gas cap with the matching key through a guy in the U.S. I had brought a new set of tyres , the plan is to get the rims painted or powdercoated, but nothing has happened as I suffer from rare condition called lack of motivation.
The WR needing fork seals, indicators x4, rear tail and stop light, rear tyre and rego plate. Ive fitted a new rear tyre and brought new fork seals and that's as far as I've got, that lack of motivation again:weep:
