A nice quiet little pootle with a quick stop for a chat, drink and a quick blat back home!

I'm getting use to riding on me own, turned up at the autobahn, no one there, (must be a few work doo's on to night), waited around for about 15 min. still no one turned up, so decide to just go for a little ride myself, was on scrub in duty, as I got new rubber on, need them scrubbed in before I head down to Wanganui.

Was cruising round the site and noticed what you're riding and had to say something along the line of "SNAP". I'm also the proud owner of a 2005 Repsol and, surprise, surprise, belong to the same gender as you. I bought mine new feb06 and we've just clocked over 27700 k's of pure heaven. Did 2,500 k's over the christmas break on some of the best SI roads, Lindus, Haast, Arthurs x2, Karamea Bluff, Lewis, Buller Gorge. Pity I had to come back work to support the "licorice allsort".

No such thing as 'pretending to be dad' . Oddly enough my daughter & I were talking about the times gone by this evening . I was amazed @ what she had remembered that we had done together years ago. She is 16 now & still comes out with me for a squirt on a bike quite often.
There is always another ride, but time with the kids is fleeting, enjoy it while you can

your more than welcome, we are lucky out this way, we have so many choices, when it comes to where we want to go on any particular ride. and most peps that come on our rides know the area well, or know how to get the pub if they get left behind.
My hat off to the Qks, they do a great job, I don't mind joining there rides, just another option for a thursday nite ride for me

Snap - I was coming back along Alfriston rd 80km zone doing about 100km coming into the round about and mister plod:Police: is going round and heads back towards Manurewa. So I have no choice but to follow him up the hill at 50km with that sinking feeling, I'm also thinking I must be blinding him as my front light is very bright.

Next thing he pulls to the left and on go the lights, I thinking o shit as I go pass, But no it's not me he's after as he does a U turn and heads after the boy racer who had been coming the other way.:laugh::laugh:

All in all a great South Auckland ride and Oldguy didn't get to ride with those other strange mates of his.

The South Auckland Solo Thursday Night ride, the idea was for people to express interest, and say they are going to come along, but not turn up, but what the f**k happens they turned up.
I had to change all my plans.

I'll be there tonight at the Autobahn out the front of the cafe at 6.55pm.

Trying to get some stuff done but aim to go so please don't piss off before 7.00pm. Don't want to be out after dark though. There aint no way I'm spending $100 on a visor to see better in the dark when I hardly ever go in the dark anyway.

So, I'm in for a quick one to one and half hour squirt and back home again if that's ok.

Anyhows, rode to Autobahn and no-one there ... I thought as much (everyone buggered off) ... and I did the ride anyhows ... through Drury/Mercer and the Hunuas and checked out the Clevedon pub in case any likely bods there...

Meant to be a short loop around 27 Kauiau and back over Clevedon but got turned back on 27 cos a road closure for 4 hours, real bad accident, cars, trucks etc.
Went back to Mercer down Island Road, Findlay road etc and clocked about 190kms in the end.

Nice cop at Mercer in HP told us where and not where to go and asked us both to gun the bikes so he could hear the exhausts. I said how fast and he replied, go for it mate :)

So of course we did.

Ended up riding in the dark thought, not much chop with a dodgy visor. Oh, Stify managed to reduce the marsupial population by one more. Split a possy down the middle in the Orere point gorge :)

Good to get out for a good blast after a crap day at work.

To me its just the way to and from work everyday. Some days I sort of go into overdrive and dont really remember the ride in detail.

I must admit though it has helped me scrub my chicken stripes off my tires.

I been pootling around those routes all the time ... and now its blardy table tennis coaching season ... my Thursdays are now taken up ferrying players to the venue and giving them match winning tips (read : a swift cuff to the ear and "its about winning! I've got no time for losers!")
