I spotted and admired your bike as I went into Burger King for some dinner. When I came out, you had gone. I was parked over by the trailers and the carwash. There were a lot of cars hanging around at the time.

Don't know what it was like for you guys last week, but on the SATNR last we nearly froze! I Kid you not. Coldest I've ever been on a bike and I have ridden through some pretty awful stuff down on Pudding Lane ( Desert Road ) and other locale's over the years.
Actually didn't enjoy the ride, too busy staying warm, alert and alive on slipped out roads and huge expanses of metal. Deep Metal.

Not too bad but I recently bought a Fleece lined Highviz which makes a huge improvement. Along with hand guards and heated grips ect etc.

A lot of the south Auck roads seem to be in bad shape of late. Coast road to Kaiaua is nasty.

It was great to mix it up a bit ; having hot chocolate at the Bombay Autobahn for a changed.
we had dry roads there, rained while we were indoors and got home dry.

When you get out on the country roads in the dark, amazing how much light you get from the moon and it isn't full yet either.

I didn't have the foggiest how fast we were going. You sit way too close to the Speedo for me to be able to read it and the blood red dials are just as impossible to read as those on the Tuono.

One bike sprung an oil leak

I hope everyone got home safely.

Made it home sweet as washed the bike going to leave her on the rear stand over night and will go over her tomorrow night and check and tighten everything. And the engine light has gone out . Found out triumphs love to do that are you disconnect the battery. So yeah it was a "fun " night . Good ride apart from the drama

We can't argue - if you have a bike, you have indeed begun to sort your life out. We should warn you, life will never be the same.

I have just checked the front page. The only thing correct is the start point. We are still meeting at Z station on Taka St and Great South Road. From there we sometimes do carpark work at Southgate before deciding on what roads to practise on.
We have been a bit casual over winter and some times just gone for a pootle.

Very nice. if thats the case don't bother looking at the newer ones, 2014 onwards.
when you get the chance have a look at the 2017-18 F 800gsa.
Experience BMW in kingsland (pack of wankers imho) have a deal on at the moment, $24k bike for 1% interest $6000 a year type thing, no cancel penalty.
for what you pay for a newer 2015 -> f650, you will get twice the features, comfort, and travel distance on an F800 gsa, for a couple bucks more it is twice the bike especially if you sell it before the term runs out... cause its a $24k bike for $6k a year

I have a running and oil tight bike again ! After it sitting on the stand for way too long i replaced the water pipe seal ( it goes in to the block as the water pump and oil pump are in sump/back of the block ) and the counter shalf / front sprocket seal as it had sucked up some wire and had been beating on the seal for some time by the looks . And i got to buy new tools to fix the bike as well .so all going to plan i hope to make it next week . Hope all for you are good catch ya soon

Generally they were some time at a carpark doing some slow speed then a ride in country. Bit of mentoring has been known to take place.

Followed by a coffee somewhere.

I'm curious. What do you do?The general idea was to provide an opportunity for new or returning riders (or just anyone who wants to) to develop their skills with a bit of mentoring along the way. Generally starts with short trip to a local carpark to practice some low speed skills such as counter steering or emergency braking. After that, a reasonably sedate ride somewhere around rural South Auckland. Speed of the ride is tailored to the experience of those riding. The rural ride is aimed at practising roadcraft. Ride ends at a pub somewhere for a few quiets or a coffee, and a few yarns. Then home before the learners breach curfew.

Great video with some good tips. I never rode in the parts of Scotland they they're riding in, but doesn't look like I missed out on much. Some of those small villages they ride through are pretty depressing looking.

Was typically Tuesday nights at 7pm from the Z station in Takanini, but it's fizzled out lately.

Three of us turned up a few weeks ago, but don't think anyone has been going otherwise - or if they have, they don't post here.

To be fair the Ride Forever courses have really taken the place of these rides. Companies like Riderskills and Passmasters are doing a very good job of it out there.

Then there are those strange IAM Roadsmart lot that people seem to go to.
