On my way back (the tide was low) I hit a sand bar and got chucked over the front... sand in my undies and a nice crowd laughing (once I stood up) on the beach... got a few pats on the back from people with tears in their eyes.

Hello T passing on the inside is fine if you are racing:rockon:

Police are horrified by two incidents involving drunk drivers last night - one who sped off at more than 200kmh ... Police say a man who exceeded 200kmh on his Suzuki motorcycle in an effort to flee them is lucky to be alive ... The 36 year old from Te Aroha .... fled Police near Matapihi ... arrested by dog handlers in Papamoa after taking his motorcycle off-raod and onto a grass section.... was charged with an excess breath alcohol level, reckless driving and failing to stop. Police said it was not the first time the man had been charged with drink driving.

Who would y'all recomend for replacing fork springs, oil and seals that is fairly local and has a decent turn around?
I'm considering sending them to Shaun but not sure what if his skills will really be needed without the bike there aswell.
I think all bike shops know how to do forks, if you want it done cheap then just buy the seals and stuff yourself and find the cheapest shop to do it. But in saying that, it will probably cost very simular everywhere... wouldn't it?
I know where I'd go but i bet you wouldnt go there =P
Anyone NOT working on thursday that has a full licience?
I may be requiring a ride to Manukau leaving Tauranga at about 9:30am.

lol if I didn't definately need the money from working tomorrow I would take the day off just to be the first to see him with it. (and so I can say he has to let me ride it for a bit in exchange for driving his ute back)
But it's finally come time to start upgrades nd mods and proper fixes to my bike so...
And Mark, I don't know shit about fors so think I'm gonna let the profesionals handle it. Once I figure out wich springs nd emulators I'm gonna get I'll PM Shaun to ask him what he thinks and if he really does need the bike there or not.

Fair enough, i saw the mechanic at GP Honda doing some yesterday, he had the forks off the bike. But yeah, ask Shaun. Good stuff.
Man i hope i can ride my bike tomorrow to riders, i have to go to tech, get home, do some stuff, put my engine back together from the conrod up. Im guessing that will take me a while..... I think i may turn up a little late, if at all. lol.

Carefull you don't rush though. I rushed the last time I put my engine back together and I must not have setthe gasket in there right for it to start leaking oil as bad as it was.

Im not even replacing any gaskets because that would involve me having to get them made up. The original gaskets should be fine, but im gonna put some gasket sealer around them anyway just in case. The gasket below the cylinder ( the one below the head gasket ) already had gasket sealer on it, so im just gonna rip all that sealer off and put some new stuff on it. Should be all good, its not like i havent bunged up gaskets before with sealer *remembers how many bottles of gasket cement went on old dirt bike carburetor when it started to leak*

I took my forks in to the Motorcycle/Chopper shop who were in behind GP Honda, now at Papamoa.
I cannot recommend them enough, friendly people, even didn't cringe too much when I mentioned the bike was a CX500! Mick did the job and apparently it was a prick to undertake as the previous owner did a botch job.

Very nice, congratulations.
Talking to a guy a couple of weeks ago when we went to the cape and he reckons its the best bike he has ever owned, gets around Puke really quick.
He reckons the only thing is don't drive past to many gas stations as it only has a small tank.
From memory only get about 160/180kms per tank.
Reckons they are a dream to ride and handle really well.

I have always found the lady at GP Honda to be very helpful and gives you the best price she can. I will defently be going there next time i need a new tyre. She is very good with that computer, always looking for the price on bits and pieces for me. But in saying that, if you are just buying one tyre, you will probably be paying a very simular price for the tyre where ever you go.
See what DMNTDs opinion is, as legend has it he is the man to speak to when wanting a "phat" deal on tyres.

I'll probably be shot down for interrupting the dialogue here but seeing as this is the "Tauranga" meeting place, I'll go anyway...
I need a new front tyre, WOF is due and the road was a bit slippery today, it gave me the shits on one occasion.
Any suggestions who to go to? It's 100/90-19. Ideally I will take the wheel off and drop it in for someone to change while I'm at work.
Cheers!
Worth ringing round the bike shops and see who will give you the best price,
sometimes it depends on which brand and type of tire your after for the type
of riding you do.

They're pretty good at getting random sizes.

Good suggestions all, I'll call Smiths and GP tomorrow and see what they have to offer. I'm a nana rider, none of this peg scraping business, the CX wouldn't have any idea what a stoppie was or even what it feels like to be on only one wheel, front or back ... not that it is capable of doing any of that lol.

Personally Smiths usual have some of best prices on tires, and other accessiours, (espically if you are on a budget), Brian in the shop can act like an cunt, but he is a good guy, and his head is full of alot of knowledge.

I just dont like it how i went in there to get my bike checked out because my battery wasnt charging. When i went to pick it up i paid, turned the bike on, rode up the road 100meters and then petrol started pissing all over the engine. They "forgot" to hock up the petrol lines. Kinda put me off that place

It is capable of doing that... and Smiths is hard to beat on price (unless you go to Hamilton) a good tip is to drop it off early and tell them you'll be back at lunch time... that way when you finish work they'll have it ready for you.
Points to note:
Tyres - Smiths, but always ring around
Helpful service and info - Karen?!? (BJ's missus) at GB Honda shes on our side
Mechanic - Eric (works from home, where ever the fuck that is) Karen?!? can help you find him.
I'll give you $50 for your bike...

I'm going to meet them in Paeroa at 11:15am so looking to LEAVE The Summit at 10:30am sharp.

Jesus, if I miss it, I miss it - no TV is worthwhile recording so I can relive the moment if I happen to HAVE A LIFE while it's on :bleh:

Man that ride was FUN. Learned more on the Pie-rower>Whangamata lunch>Coroglen ride then I have from ever learned riding alone. Great to follow you experienced guys around a bit and have a yack and steal your secret riding tricks. I might have to take the week off so I can go riding more. Hope it's less windy though.
Nice to meet some of the Auckland guys too.

In this dime-a-dozen world
With you they must've broke the mold
Cause you're the only one I've met
that I would kill to call my own.
Let it be known, I'm not aggressive nor possessive
All I know is, I would kill to make you mine
and I am usually not this bold
Let it be known, let it be known...
Let it be known, let it be known...
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all
I'm rather small and all my shortcomings stand tall
I've crawled upon my hands & knees
out of the fear that I could fall
and through it all it's left me withered,
feeling bitter, bought and sold,
been told I'm not the nicest person
that you'll ever get to know
Let it be known, let it be known...
Let it be known, let it be known...
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all
No, anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all
Weaving through this dust
I trust nobody else but us
I must admit it'd take some years
for me to walk without this crutch
So on and such, I'd still be fucked
If I am forced to walk alone
And should I crumble at your feet
I'll hold us both accountable
Let it be known, let it be known...
Let it be known, let it be known...
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything and
I never wanted to be anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all
Anybody's anything at all, at all
Anybody's anything at all
No, anybody's anything at all
