Had a hour or so spare this arvo so ducked out to finish scubing my new tyres in,
Must say I'm glad I went back to a 190 rear, Requires a little firmer command to change direction quickly but the bike feels a lot more planted on the road over the 180.

One thing at a time, fix your vmax. Do you know whats wrong with it?

From what i have heard it was a "tap tap tap" that could be a very easy ( or the opposite ) fix..
Not a clue. Need a second job so I can put it in the shop and let them fix it. Not gonna do anything else until it's fixed and cleaned up. By then I'll be 25 and insurance will be cheaper.

Here's a random thought: I wonder if riding on the carpet in my garage would do the job? :stupid:

Think of all the advantages: it's toasty warm and dry, you can crank up the stereo, there's plenty of obstacles (to make corners), no cops, and it's never far from a food joint.

I guess on the downside, carpet burn would hurt like freakin' hell and the scenery isn't the most stimulating, or maybe that depends on who you've got in front of you :innocent:

I went for a spin via Te Puke > Whakatane > Awakeri > Rotorua > Pyes Pa to scrub in the Pilot Powers that went on my bike a few days ago. These things are friggin' awesome and the bike now takes itself round corners. Previously, I had to use shitloads of foot pressure to get it to do anything (damn Rensports )

Also got an Ohlins damper on the bike and I normally got wicked shakes along that piece of road. I got bugger all today, so that's money well spent!

Although I technically went for a ride with someone else, I spent 95 percent of the ride by myself. The guy I went with is a real stickler for the speed limit so it didn't take much to lose him.

It'd probably be Te Poi (turn off at the bottom of the Kaimais towards Hamilton), but it's often closed when you'd expect it to be open. The next closest would be Matamata or Tauriko.

TePoi has closed its pumps and pulled them out. Closest is probably Hinuera. Next closest, Matamata.

Well today's weather was deceiving. I decided to take the RSV for a spin around the block (Waihi > Paeroa > Te Aroha > Kaimais) to put a few more km on the new tyres. Get to Waihi and it's bloody raining  I decided I wasn't going to be deterred by rain so plodded on towards the gorge, which was damp and had a 30km speed limit half the way because of road works.

I got to the road between Paeroa and Te Aroha only to hit more rain and couldn't see where the hell I was going. Really should put something on my visor to make the rain run off it... I was a bit confused coming up to one of those single lane bridges because I could see something on it. I was thinking "WTF is it?" only to discover it was a Jersey calf staring straight at me. A quick stop while the farmer rounded it up and then I was back on my merry way.

Overall, it was a pretty sedate little pootle. :scooter:

What's yer vector, victor?

I did the Coro Loop today ... in a car :( Was a pristine day, would have been just right for a cruise, anyway, there are patches of loose gravel and dirt along the Thames Coast Road north of Waiomu. It's an extended '30 k' area but no one's working there, some patches were on corners on the riding line and could be slippery on a bike, so be careful if anyone takes the loop on the weekend.

One more thing, on my new tyres on the front, theres about a cm or two of tyre on the far sides (see pic) with no tread whatsoever. If i manage to use that part of the tyre (which im getting close) would i loose all grip and low side or is that part even stickier since its like a slick?

you wont notice a difference it probably will be stickier... unless you hit a wet patch where you will be fucked but even if it was fully treaded at that rideing angle you would still be fucked anyway. MAKE SURE UR TYRES ARE HOT it takes a good 5 min or rideing to get them hot.. ultimatly you really need a stickier tyre if thats how you ride all the time go to a bt101 or a bt014 both are really good but the 014s are better... make sure u got a nice tyre on the front i wouldnt race with that tyre on the front

If you're going through the gorge watch the surface at the Paeroa end in the 80 zone.

Nice to meet ya's thursday. Ta nodrog and DeMouNTeD for helping me sort bike out.
