Well done on the Trackday Mike was a blast taking pics of you guys. Dude you should have done a stint in the fast group tho. You were pretty much fastest in intermediate group. Weekend of great enjoyment can't wait for next. Thinking I might have to buy a suzuki tho.

Thanks a lot for taking those photos mate, awesome. Heaps of them to since it might be my last track day.
Will try and do a couple more over summer but see how it goes.

I don't think you'd do as well on an M109 though.

Weather looks a bit dodgy at the moment but it's cleared up by the arvo the last few days so I'll see you folks at the same bat time same bat channel today.

Thinking about it, I think I did it today on another gravel road (sigh) as I checked the oil before I left and it was full (I did about 170Km after I left DeMouNTeD's). It sure aint now and there's oil all over the zorts. Wish I'd got the hole in the guard fixed straight away though.

Umm....I need a lovely assistant to help me get the thing off so I can take it to local alloy shop to (hopefully) get it fixed.

I called *555 on one of the mufti's.
He chased a cage for an admittedly stupid & potentially dangerous manouvre, however, Mr Rozzer's driving was erratic, panicked, badly thought-out, impulsive & waaaay too close to other vehicles, he drove far worse than the 'offender'. even had a good look at passing a car towing a boat on a left hander!:nono:

When I gave them the details, you should'a heard the silence at other end when they realised the rego was 'one of theirs'

As some of you may know, i got into a bit of trouble with the pigs and got sent to court for "sustained loss of traction" which has a minimum loss of licence time of 6 months. Well i got a lawyer, and they went to court for me, and i got LET OFF

Anyway, I have decided to move on from the car because i think it is going to get smashed next year parked on the side of the road in the middle of palmy ( my reason for selling my bike haha ) and instead get another bike and pad lock it to the house around the back and make a shed for it.

Sorry to hear about the spill Jacob, best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Is the bike a right off? Insurance?
Maybe catch up Thurs.
You might need some lesssons off C about having spills with little damage to yourself man :Pokey:

The cut in his leg look somewhat the same as DMNTD's, this time I was of sound enough mind to try and take a photo, however my phone was to flat :( Does sound like a common injury as Steve said he has had one similar as well.. Just glad you are okay J .. Insurance will fix/replace the bike so no worries there, it didn't look too bad except the fact the frame had a ding... Hope they find the person who caused it! :angry2:

Mom's got photos. Just getting them off the phone and onto pc will take some work.
Calling Insurance company as I type to try and sort that out, hopefully it's fixable. The dent in the frame is my biggest worry.

Damn lousy drivers. Cheers to Donna and Chris for alerting Olivia and her for brining Steve around.

9 stiches in my leg and I have no idea what the bike looks like.

My jacket held up damn well, not even a suff mark. Helmet has a crack in the outer shell near the forehead and explains the fuzziness of my morning and the first few ours afterwards. Leg has a deep gash looks like from the foot peg.

And no DMNTD, I'm not dead so keep your hands off my bike unless you're gonna help the insurance guys with it.

Thats shit bro.

If you want help fixing your bike, gimme a txt, I have experience lol.

Yep you got it, some dumb arse trucker (two actually) have gone and ruined our GP run :bash::angry:. 7am this morning and Im heading over the hill, slow trip as fog on top was very thick.
Two trucks and trailers stopped in the left lane heading up the Kaimai's on the Waikato side.

Condition Report
From bottom to top heading towards the BOP there are 15 turns over 3kms.
Turn 8 spill is right across both lanes and running forward in left hand lane
Turns 10 and 11, spill is across both lanes in turn 10 and runs up around turn 11 in the left hand lane. Spills are wide.
Turns 13 and 14, spill continuous in left hand lane.
Yep you got it, all the yummy corners :crybaby::angry2:
Easy to see at the moment because they have sprinkled whatever it is they sprinkle on this shit, but once it rains, there will be no evidence its there when dry.
I'd say we are going to have to be extremely careful over the next few months until it wears away,

I'm eyeing up the Hamilton one though. $2k cheaper than the one I had with 10k less Kms on it, full race kit and still has the gold rims. Even if it is a year older than mine, still a fucking good buy.

Just spent a week in a bach up at Matarangi with Reid and his family and one other family. Took my bike up on the tralier and Reids wife Kate took her CBR600.

Weather was outstanding, forecast for the start was for shit but it only rained at night. I did a run Matarangi to Coroglen for a beer, Matarangi to Tairua for a beer and 2 anti-clock loops covering around 600km for the week. The whole loop is 195km of outstanding twisties, fantastic riding and definately taking my bike on holiday again!

Its got to be as much fun as you can have with your pants on!:scooter:

st1300 first trip

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

as some of you will know i have brought a st1300 after having the R1 for a year.
as much as i liked the short runs on the R1 i missed the long rides even more!
well my first long ride was this weekend.

0430, leave mount maunganui head to gisbourne through opotiki then the gouge, arrive for breakfast 0720, then headed to mahia peninsula, from there to napier for lunch, it was raining when i left the mount on & off till i got to gisbourne then it was blue sky all the way,
from napier it was off to taupo for dinner & a bed for the night.
sunday was off to rotorua, kawerau, whakatane, then home,
what an awsome ride, one of many comming up! just on 1,000kms.
very impresed with the milage of the st1300, got to gisbourne 283kms toped the tank back up $20.

I was planning the Opotiki/Gisbourne, Napier leg for this Thursday, sounds brilliant. And your miliage/cost/range sounds very much the same as the 14.
Glad your enjoying touring again, its fun.

Hey sarge, It's well worth the trip further if not all the way round. Down side is that a lot of the road when get to the west coast is 80km and a bit more traffic.
Road often has a bit of loose chip on it but bugger all and it gets a bit norrow in places, Personally I pay more attention to the scenery on that side. But that's just my opinion.

Cheers Ralph,
A bunch of us from down here are doing a road trip over Waitangi weekend which will include the Coro loop, expecting quite a lot of traffic. I'm pretty sure that we'll be going up the west side first which sounds like the way to go and enjoy the roads on the east later on in the day.

Check back a couple of posts for my experience there. Thames to Coromandel would be the worst of the roads as it is quite bumpy and pretty narrow in parts although the scenery is awesome. Coromandel to Tairua is my favorite with heaps of great twisties, Kopu/hikui road is cool as is Hikui to waihi.

Travelling from Tauranga as we do we never bother with the West side. The Witianga to Coromandel town is just like the rest of the east side, yummy yummy twisties. Take time out to enjoy a seafood lunch in Coromandel town, its fresh as it gets. The passes over the hills are really active riding, enjoyed at a variety of pace, type of bike and skill level. It's still a good hike from Coromandel Town to Whitianga, and a big day to do the whole loop but a very satisfying days riding.
Enjoy your trip

I would advise you keep an eye out for bumblebee :Police:type cars as they are giving the area hell, seeing 1/3 of all motorcycle ACC accident claims come out of that area. They are stopping motorcyclist and handing out safe riding tips as well as checking you and your bike out.:stupid: It appears that the locals are particularly happy:laugh: about it as they are sick of speeding through low speed built up areas.

After introin myself I found she was a guest to our lovely city frm Tauranga. We had a chat and headed our own wayz, however i must say if the riders frm your parts were all this stunning. I will definately make the ride to check ya's Out
