Had a great ride today to pukekohe to check out the classic bike festival. Andrew Shroud did a great stand up wheelie on the Britten:laugh: Some of those guys can certianly punt those old bikes along! It was bloody hot and the ride home was a scorcher so plenty of stops to hydrate. Cheers Leggs!

Went for a ride over to Hamilton to check out a bike. On the way home it started to rain and I had no wet weather gear, luck it was warm. The only thing that was on my mind though was to get the hell home. Coming up the straight just after the Ruahihi dam a copper was sitting in that road at the top of the brow and clocked me at 121kph.
Problem is, I didnt see him (it was raining after all), any way you get into those minor twisties by the bus building place then into a double passing lane, passed a few cars still doing 120ish, and still havent looked in my mirrors! Copper thought I was doing a runner now! At the top of the passing lane merging to a single I caught a truck. Now sitting behind a truck in the wet sucks big time so what do I do?, power on past of course!, and I crossed the double yellow line to avoid the spray. Started to slow for the 70k area at Tauriko and thats when I heard the sirens!! Oh FARK!!

Any way he let me keep my licence and I dont have to see a judge because he accepted my explaination that I just didnt see him hence I didnt stop. Wished I had seen him though cause I wouldnt have passed that bloody truck practically doubling my fine to $320.

Note to self: Look in mirrors more often!!

It was pretty tidy with only 12000kms on the clock and wont take piss all to get it back on the road. Basically only brake lever, clutch lever assembly, indicators. The dash is cracked at the back but works fine, fairings I dont need, the tank is dented so I will get another, the headlights all intact, a set of mirrors and I'm off!:banana: Piece of piss really!
The bike has no tar or anything on it, looks like its never been wet, the front tyre needs replacing but looking at the tyres its never been ridden hard at all.

Heres some pics of the VTR and some mock ups I have done.

I'm going to make a billet top yoke and add MX fatbars, and build a digital speedo into the tank.

Tried removing one radiator and puttng the other in front of the engine, but am going to have issues with the fan. So I have mocked up some possible fairing options and am leaning towards radiator shrounds and a seperate bellypan.

Was going to go minimal on the front but I dont think it would look right if we cant move the radiator so will use a headlight/mask unit rather that single lights. Braided brake lines for the front too and stubby cans exhaust.

Went up to Aucks and saw Nine Inch Nails on Tuesday(Awesome concert), took Wednesday off and rode back the long way, Kopu - Whangamata - Waihi, Not alot of traffic, not too hot, no really full on roadworks anywhere that mattered (minor unswept stretch near waihi) Thorougly enjoyed it! just focused on getting my lines right and Jons your uncle! :D

What an awesome day Sunday, didn't catch up with many of you lot but did see some gezza's I have not seen in a while so that was cool... Had a nice wee pootle up by myself (due to last minute change of plans) Then cruised back via the Oko by myself once again due to my companions fart arseing around :bleh: Really starting to enjoy riding again now, just in time for the busy season at work back onto 7 days a week again soon :cry: might as well put rego on hold over the winter I think :weep: Giddy up and see you all Thursday :D
