Thought it's been a while since I did a Thursday nighter. Weather was looking promising and I'm on early shift so rocked up at McD's at 6pm. No bikes to be seen . Had a burger ,waited til 6:30 pm and then went for a solo ride. Headed out to Miranda and then followed the East coast back to Howick , stopping at Maraetia for a coffee. Beautiful sunset . Just a bit of rain between Kaiaua and Kawakawa bay to make the roads slippery and " interesting" .

Hopefully next time I'm out I might see more of you .

Had a good day out Mark...500 Ks round trip, add in the the twp hour stop at Te kuiti and it was very pleasent. Boscos is great Cafe' if you're ever in the area.

Well this Sarf Dorkland Thursday night Ride is a real hoot! Myself and my number two daughters boyfriend went for a skid out to Waiuku and promptly got RAINED On yep, I kid you not,as soon as we turned off the Puke rd onto the Waiuku rd it fair bucketed down. But we're tough and we rode on.Stopped in Waiuku to make some running repairs to the coal burners front cow catcher and then headed off out to Puke on the other back road and had a ball, home via the usual route and am now ready to go again next week. So, who's keen???

It could happen again but we need to get something happening and to find a time slot that suits more of us. So, gennelman, ideas please?
I'm happy to co ordinate as long as we get something going forward.

Well JafaSaffer and Mongolian joined me at the BP, we waited till 6.55 pm and then headed off. Went up Runciman Rd, to Puke then out to the Paddy. The Hot rod guys were in and their cars were as always bloody beautiful and as always their hospitality was genuine and warm.
Enjoyed a quiet beer with the lads and then an even quieter ride back home in the very damp dark.
Yep, it DID RAIN! butt I'm pleased to report that no one pulled out or went home, so no soft cocks in this SATNR Contingent.
Rain got quite intense for a bit but by the time i got home I'd blow dried nicely.
Looking forward to next week fella's.

Mongolian and myself plan to go on Sunday. we will have a late start leave Pukekohe around 11am as I am staying in the city Saturday evening.

We are not planning on doing the entire loop but rather to go via Waihi through Tairua then back to Kopu.. But that could all change and we may end up doing the whole loop... will decide on Sunday.

That was most likely the Fat bikers ride through Clevedon to the Kiauia Pub. I think there was about 38 bikes, left Botany about 11am??

Due to various commitments like work or family, these rides happen on a when-they-can basis at the moment. You just ride your own ride — we wait for everybody (including the tail-end-charlie who keeps an eye on things from the rear) at the intersections of whichever route we happen to be taking. No pressure, just whatever pace suits you and the conditions. Maybe there'll be one or two more rides before daylight savings finishes — eh, lads! ;) — so just keep an eye on this thread from time to time.
