What happened chick? Is your body all good?

Body is sweet, a few bruises....

Setting up for corner, hit a gash in the road... the rest is HISTORY, sniff sniff

_Gina_
10th January 2007, 23:05
Sorry to hear it :(

What are you looking to replace with?

Croft
10th January 2007, 23:12
Took at ZX10r for a blat (nervous nanna putt putt) tonight, and ruled it out. Looking at a GSXR750 and CRB600rr next... what ya reckon?

_Gina_
10th January 2007, 23:28
This will sound like I am trying to be funny....but

CBR600 is a definite possibility, I have only ridden with you once. But I would guess that it is more than enough for you (as in: would take a bit until you out ride it) and it is a pretty well rounded and forgiving bike. Read some of the reviews in the bike mags, ride the bikes.....

What is important to you in a bike?

:sunny:

gijoe1313

:gob: Crikey Croft! You managed to sneak that one under the radar! Glad to hear you are okay? I bet you getting all those "I told you so" non-bikers giving you the finger wag now?

Ah well, least you can go shopping for a new biker and all - though I bet your insurance agent must be shaking his head

On ya for getting back into it :devil2:

Cheers guys for the ride, great fun and was nice pootling at the back! :scooter: Great to see a good turn out and catch up on the usual blatherskiting we get up to! Missed seeing Croft trying to roll a smoko for the crew - chur girl, you need to get your ride ASAP!

The roads were interesting, haven't been out that way in over three weeks (a record for me!) and was suprised at the amount of work being done  30kph? I misread it!

After the ride, blatted over to xerxesdaphat to check out progress on his ride and chew the fat...which reminds me, I haven't eaten dinner yet (damn, no munchies at the pub :crybaby:)

Spot you all on the next ride :woohoo:

PS - I cannot tell a lie, t'was I who left my SARs (Stupid Asian Retard Syndrome) infected Oxford Balamyclava!

PPS - Apologies to all those who wanted to see the bling bits on my ride, next time, next time!

Nice to see all you chaps again last night!

A good ride - great pics Oldguy! (have taken the one of me and made it my profile piccy - first photo of me on the Bandit :) )

nice Blingy bike GIJoe - looked awesome in that nice shade of red

And to cap it off, I got severely distracted by a certain celestial happening (Comet McNaught) that was looking spectacular with no streetlight intereference - a nice "guiding light" with which to ride home...

Hi guys and girls!

Sorry, been out of sight for a while. Since buying the house have had heaps to do, building decks, cutting down trees, painting cages (4 wheeled ones), then selling them, very busy in deed. Not even had the time to come on here till now.

Croft and BB, sorry to hear about your little skids, hope all is good.

Everyone else, good to see this is still going on,

Hopefully, the week after next I will join you guys for a bit of a blat. Need to get my 12k service first, but all should be good.

Take care, and catch ya's later.

Ozzie
26th January 2007, 17:36
Been a while since I've been on any rides. Still comuting, but had to cut back on the k's, didn't want to get hit with the service before christmas.

Only had the katana for 9 months tomorrow, did 11,000 ks in just over 6 months, and done a thousand in the last 2 1/2 months. Will be back to normal (ish) once the service is done.

But there is the house as well, the big plan for that is to do as much as possible in shortest time, revalue, refinance, and buy a gixer!!!!

So yeah, that's the story, probably was Kawhia, that was the second to last major ride I went on, and a good one at that.

Was so funny when we stopped at Mercer, the guy who had been tailing me was a bit thrown, he was sure that he had been following a guy :scooter:

Now I will make my own conclusion from that and assume that it was the riding not my arse!!!!

Sorry for the confusion, it's just too damn hot to ride with my cordura atm, so I keep "borrowing" Stifys gear...am going through the process of organising my own, but might need to have custom made stuff me thinks.

No bigger high than breathing in the wonderful aroma of burnt sulphur.

Confirmed "Darksider". The roar, the thunder and the flame, followed by that wonderful white cloud.

Cordite hasnt been used for a very long time.

I havent lob'd a howitzer in years. Could you be arrested for that nowadays?

"Yes officer it was me who lobbed one. I definitely had a lob on."

Got pulled the other night on the M/way. Undertaking, not indicating, going a little fast. Spent a pleasant 1/2 hour talking to a very nice gentleman who advised me of the errors of my way and then proceeded to swap tales of bikes and biking days. I consider myself told off and am most contrite. What really supprised me was the number of cages that slowed down to have a sneakie at what was going on.

Needless to say I will be availing myself of his advice, until the next lapse of concentration or the next f#@king 4x4 plays silly buggers with me.

Just a question here for those of you who actually drive those 4 wheeled monstrocities. Do they teach you how to serpantine down the road? NZ's fuel bill could be cut by 1/4 if the average NZ driver learnt basic geometry, ie the quickest route between two points is a STRAIGHT line, not wandering from side to side between the two white lines that define a lane.

By Undertaking I presume you mean overtaking on the left (not embalming and conducting funerals!)

Odd. This is the only country in the world dumb enough for that to be legal - can I assume it was merely for want of indicating?

I think it is more called "filtering" here. The gap between cages was large, unforunately due to the average NZ cage driver proceeding in a sepentine manner in lane (whatever happened to "KEEP LEFT"), I crossed the white line and passed the car to my right while still in the same lane. A no-no. As to indicating or the lack of I put that down to bad habits picked up over the last few years on the Auckland motorway, Again the cage drivers seem to not indicate or to indicate once they have started their manouver in case they have cut someone off. Unfortunately in my haste to escape these drivers I copied their bad habits.

The speed whilst not exceeding the speed limit set on the highway was considered a little fast for the circumstances.

Yes I was let off with a stern warning. I thank the gentleman concerned for his tolerance and his obvious genuine concern ov er a member of the bike riding family. He was more worried that if a cage had of hit me I would have come off worse.

BTW this gentleman watches us here on KB and knows a few of us through the course of his employment and our topics of conversation.

Correct. This has been covered a lot on KB. You may pass on the right of a vehicle, in same lane, but NOT the left. $150 for passing on the left.

I thank the gentleman concerned for his tolerance and his obvious genuine concern over a member of the bike riding family.
Lucky. All I have had is cops that say they ride.. well... one was a bike cop, so there could be truth in that  They all pretty much went nuts at me, and threatened careless/dangerous charges (I began to think it was standard procedure to do that).

Of course it's legal here. They don't check their right before pulling out and then indicating [*1] so it's surely no more dangerous undertaking them.

[1] And yes, most do it in that order over here.

i love to go to a country where it isnt legal, and drive at 25kph on the motorway in the far right lane.... wonder how long before someone "illegally" overtook on the left....

You'd be amazed at how quickly a) the cops pull you over, or b) you get forced off the road and bashed..... depending on which country

Yes, I was considering doing the ol'white line tango on the motorway south from spaghetti junction this arvo...but had to pull my head in when popo :Police: were present! Pootled along slowly behind another biker ... until Mt Wellington freed up and :scooter: we did!

Now...where shall I mount stebel #2 ... :innocent:

Nice ride peoples! Glad to see that courtesy of waiting for TEC is alive and well :sweatdrop ... watching you mad fullas and fulleresses hooning it around with sunstrike even had me :eek5: at times

I loved the mad salute Idleidolidyll gave the ecilops down Pap-Cleve's way ... the reaction I saw was priceless! The popo started to reach into his pocket for his keys...and then I gave him a little pootling wave and he broke into a big :D Passed five of them we did!

The merry ride through to Albany was a stop-start affair, methinks the cagers were being slightly burned by the exhaust notes of all the big bikes! I just smoked them out with my dirty little ol'Daisy

Nice meeting up with the North Crew - very civilised affair with a grand stately setting and bikers aplenty! Was waiting to see if III was gunna get/give the learn to anybody ... but  Bogus! Anti-climatic methinks! :weep:

It was the South Auckland Thursday Night Riders on tour!
Must do Hamiltron and Tauranga next aye guys!!!!

Good ride tonight, was cool to shoot up to meet the ATNR crew and catch up with a few people you don't get to see that often. :)

GI Joe - You are welcome, the waiting for the TEC is what all good rides are all about.

Nice to meet the new guy on the cool as Aprillia (sorry forgot your name dude).

And look forward to seeing Draco next Thursday.

Funniest moment of the night was when we arrived at Pub at Albany and we noisily announced "Super IdleIdolIdyl" to the group, few smiles on peoples faces.
