I wont be there, gotta take care of the old girl now she's for sale and the early nights.

Anyway got a pm from a Suzuki dealer in Masterton saying he has a blue VTR, 33,000km, 1 owner etc... and wanted to do a trade in for my bike. Unfourtunatly I can't afford a trade in just yet. Cool thing about this bike is the personalised plate MYVTR :blip:

Don't ask! Somehow Karman and I ended up at the Oringi intersection before the rest lol.

Honestly a good run. Should be telling myself off this time. I'll get Connie to give me a :argue: and a :spanking: Somehow the group got split with some going to the Dudly Arms and the rest going to the Black Stump, but well such is life as we know it. Must upgrade to GBs headlight back to standard. Its like having someone stand in front with a candle at the moment with the sealed beam unit. Hope everyone made it home safely.

It was good to see an XR1200 close up.

That was good, was in a bit of an odd funky mood tonight, came right at the Black stump though, dawned on me why I had a headache after we left for home, had'nt had anything to eat since about one o'clock friday morning.. Was feeling better after a few chips at the stump.

mint ride. the saddle was mint. surprised how good condition it was in. 86 fell into fine form as I failed to get rid of him on the saddle.
NZsarge - did notice you were a little off, switching from pootle mode to non-pootle mode back and forth. Still good run out to Oringi and then after that was mint. Something a bit un-nerving about seeing the big knee come out. Seems it is always followed by big smiles on the empending corner.
Change of plans mid ride (it is an ashhurst ride) ended us meeting up with supersonic at black stump. They are slowly getting biker friendly and was nice sitting outside in the park and food delivery was awesome too.
Good ride home in the dark through the gorge chasing the Daytona. Good way to finish the week.

2 to go. I hope someone posts a route online for next week so we dont get lost.

Excellent to see the Toolman out and about and awesome to see young Scott turning up whom I haven't seen for about 12yrs!!.

Well I've got to say that it was AWESOME to be back on a bike, and very nice that it was my old gold friend Daytona  Took awhile to get the rythym going, and it will still be sometime off as I'm lacking a lot of power in my hand and shoulder now. The doc says it will be months before it's anywhere close to where it was. Oh well that's life.

Superb evening through those back roads and cool catch up and natter.

Nice run through the gorge ending at the Brewers Apprentice for a beer and another yak.

Nice to see a certain red Honda hoisting her headlight on occasion too

or on a more serious note, why don't we split the rides into fast twistie lovers and the cruisers. As Al, Lance, myself, yod, sarge, Owl etc fit into the first group and , Horse, sarah, the learners, the average two up riders etc may wish to fit into the second group, all problems will be solved.

Still meet up at Ashurst as one group, with lots of people around, then say our hellos and goodbyes and go ride - and enjoy the riding.

Those that float between the groups can still do so, and this means all can still ride with thier friends without anyone being put under any undue duress as they can choose to go to the OTHER group. Should they be followed by circumstances that still cause duress, it will be pretty obvious to all present, and can be actioned or documented as required. No stress.

Honestly I have no probelms riding with either party and enjoy the company when on 2 wheels, but fail to see the necessity of having to ride with both at the same time. Its like chaining a dog up then beating and torturing it. The dog can't run away, it can't fight you either as your just out of reach. Hardly fair. Why do it at all. Unless you want to see the dog broken...

Its a simple plan that keeps everyone safe, avoids brain fade crashes and lets everyone avoid or enjoy watching me pull out on people thoughtlessly for one thing.

stink idea ... and yes i am way behind reading all this...

yeah I guess, but it seems to have ended ok with all on 2 wheels. Was trying to avoid another distraction caused crash, even though I could use a wrecked Daytona for parts right now. Just haven't worked out how to part the rider from the bike without breaking both.

Well we had an awesome night out at an engagement party, but ended up talking bikes all night and arguing over which is better, the triumph or the quiet achiever Honda CBF250. No clear winner, with all the guys for the 675 and all the girls behind Maria for the CBF - no taste for speed and curves I guess. What can you expect from a party of Toyota workers.

Got up this morning and MAN AM I MISSING THE BIKE!!!! Look at the weather!!!!!! Paying the price for thinking I'm clever with electrics now!!!!

Well I got home without any problems.
But a few hours latter I could smell petrol from the garage. I looked at the bike and it had a big puddle of petrol underneath. Opened up the doors to get rid of the smell/vapours. Then I took the tank off, the vacumn pipe looked to be squashed. So on the ride when the bike felt like it had run out of petrol the vacumn tap must have stopped letting fuel through, and then latter on in the garage it may have been stuck open?
I have moved the clutch hose which may have caused the problem as it is very close to the fuel tap pipes and have now put it back together and the bike appears to be OK.

Shit almost forgot-

Saddle, Oringi(Sarge in lead so we don't get lost), left onto Hopeland rd, hang right out over the bridge to the Brewery. Natter at Dudley Arms(alternately The Black Stump). Pahiatua, long way around to Palmerston North via the "track", O'cowtree then home.

Good ride until being sent to one pub while almost everyone else went to another but that's KB I suppose

seems posting the ride route 300 times still cant please everyone.

No one was sent to any pub. I made it clear that I didnt think it appropraite some people should be on the ride and she, you and horse left the rest of the ride in the back of pahiatua of your own accord. The group, as a group decided to meet up with supersonic at the black stump.

Then after some decided not to go to Palmerston North at all, some didnt go over the track and some did. Dont lose sight about what these rides are about. They are mostly unorganized, spur of the moment, chance to unwind at the end of the week. They are not compulsory and are just for like-minded people to relax. Horse has already decided that *I* am responsible for childish behaviour (oh go figure) by ditching you guys last night and has requested that I not make any contact with him. Funny how I seem to recall it was you guys who left the group and having read the ride route plan as many times as bonez posted it it would seem that if no one showed up at the dudley arms then an alternative plan must have been followed. You could have jumped on your bike and run up to the black stump to join everyone else after you had left us and no one showed at dudley arms. In any case. Only 2 to go, hopefully sarah has got the message that I dont want to finish my week listening to her making up stories and dramas.

There is one more thing that needs to be made clear. I dont run the friday night rides. Neither does anyone else. The rides are now, and always have been informal and do not need formal organisation and are there for like-minded people to relax at the end of the week. If you are not like-minded or find that you are not getting on with others on the friday night ride then it is not compulsory to show up.

Horse
21st March 2009, 17:15
Still dealing with guilt, huh?

No one was sent to any pub.

We stopped at the intersection. Sarge said "anyone who doesn't want to wait can go on to the Dudley arms". So some of us left for the Dudley, and no-one else turned up. Pity no-one had a cellphone or had any means of transportation to ride the 30sec from the Brewery corner up to the Dudley to mention that the venue had changed.

There is one more thing that needs to be made clear. I dont run the friday night rides.

And yet you seem to think you get to dictate who can & can't go on the ride? What a colossal hypocrite.

phantom
21st March 2009, 18:19
seems posting the ride route 300 times still cant please everyone.

No one was sent to any pub. .

As has been mentioned by Horse , Sarge who was in the lead said for anyone who wanted to, to head onto the Dudley Arms. As a slower rider and someone who is keen to get to the bar as soon as possible I promptly left for the aforementioned establishment. I have no interest in getting involved in someone elses private disagreement but it is a KB ride and is advertised as such. Sending off one group in one direction while the rest of the ride goes somewhere else seems like an unusual way of running a group ride.

cowboyz
21st March 2009, 18:47
as always, I am not concerned with who is right and who is wrong. There is no point trying to put me out to be an asshole cause its like trying to prove water is wet. Everyone already knows this. If sarge indicated for you to go ahead he did so without the information that supersonic was at black stump setting up for the group. Once he had all the info and it was discussed with the group then the group made a decision to meet supersonic at black stump. If you want to wait at dudley arms and pine cause no one showed up then fine. You had other options, not withstanding, staying with the group or seeing for yourself if the group had gone to the alternative meeting place. Nothing was done in secret. I had an awesome ride and chat with friends over a drink and caught up with some guys I hadnt seen for a while. Looking forward to next week for another impromptu unorganised ride.

She has started the wednesday night rides which those who disagree with her position have left her to do her own thing. only ask the same in return. The Wednesday ride was set up to have a midweek run. Anybody is welcome just like FNR. The "issue" is between Al and Sarah. Everyone else should but out.

cowboyz
21st March 2009, 19:09
actually, The "all welcome" had been qualified several times in the past couple of years.

There has been previous riders who have been asked to not come due to dangerous riding. There has also been a couple who have opted out of the friday night rides due to not fitting in with the group dynamics.

Kinda felt confused seeing all these manawatu threads having all their titles changed and finding everyone fighting one another. Kinda really annoys me seeing people bad mouthing one another here. Don't know about this Sarah/86 issue, don't really care, not our business.

well then my answer will be right at home here... Jo and I are incompatable. Extremely incompatable. Lovely lady, nice kids, angry male friends, and she doesn't like me spending every moment busy on something for someone or the next person, as I seem to always be. But I still have Eleanor and her smoking wiring to keep me warm in the garage.

Oh and I was going to pull off the temporary "Jo's ass here" logos on the back to replace with the proper 675 logos but when Maria came round to help me layup the belly graphics she couldn't help herself and pulled it off and rearranged some of the letters. Had to remove it after that!

20-30 year old Honda of course. CB250T or CB750F(DOHC) Think there's a mechanical CB750(SOHC) one too.

I've found New Era Electronics on Tremaine Av good to deal with. Recommended by a bike shop. Had their problematic electical work done by NEE. They're the local Can Am agents I beleive too. Do cars, jetskis, motorbikes plus more.

New battery should be sorted monday

New HID headlights should be sorted wednesday

New reg/rec should be here from the States no later than the week after.

A bit behind here. I go away :no:for a couple of days and everyone has so much fun. Bike is looking good Sly, best of luck with getting it going quickly.

Is LOST the new Friday catchphrase? No that's not an exclusive FNR thing but a typical Manawatu KB ride thing ;). I've noticed a common theme though. It always seems to happen on rides originating in Ashhurst:dodge: Of course I've never been lost because I know exactly where I am....................

Spent the evening with the kids helping/hindering me going over the D675 with a fine tooth comb, tightening, cleaning, greasing and tidying everything that looked like it needed it or soon would/could. Then finished the graphics off.

Funny how missing someone can keep you awake at night. Yesterday I did 24hrs up with the gym, work then working on the Supra for D1NZ's RD1 night race at Whenuapai. We finished it at 7.45am this morning, it left for Auckland with a crew high on V's and I went to work. Then tonight the potential other half reminds me shes still alive and travelling round NZ and now I'm wide awake, still up mucking with the bike and gear. 40hrs so far!

Designing the Drift Team pit shirts now for Roberte Embroidery to make for us and tagging the kids push bikes

Nice ride last night. I've always had a problem getting my helmet and gloves on quickly so I got left behind again. Caught up without too many problems though and had a nice run through the twisties. Couldn't be arsed hitting any pace as my rear's totally shot and I don't want to see a pile of golden rubble on the side of the road. Seeing blue rubble (well pics of blue rubble) on the side of the road was bad enough.

Decided on the short route while the hard core's took the long way and had a brilliant squirt through Halcombe road where Sarge impressed with his new warp drive :gob: Following close behind Cowboyz is always good fun and this time, just for good measure he threw out some schrapnel to make things interesting. getting sick of squaring off tyres commuting so yes, commuting in car now. Seem to have a very busy life in the next little while so will not have time for weekend riding. Will have to get out at some stage but will probably be reserved for longer rides.

Really enjoyed the ride itself. Still nowhere near where I was pre accident. Got my ass well and truly kicked by Sly, but my rear tyre is absolutely shagged. Still wouldn't have saved me tho :niceone:

Feeling sorry for the poor old git my consolation prize was a decent fang on the 675 through to the Black Stump.

Impressions. Very quick, great power to weight ratio. Very high saddle, very light, very responsive. Very easy to steer. Lot's of pretty lights on the dash. Luuuverly sound

Thanks all for a great season of FNR's.

Bloody typical fuel company wankers, shaft any sole trader types,so as to close them and keep monopoly, assuming this is not company owned outlet.

Had a mate who owned a country garage, selling fuel and repairs, caltex said when he said he was going to be selling fuel for 87c/ltr and all others at 90c/ltr(1990-91),thus be cheapest in the province, you have to sell at 90c/ltr to be same and keep margins. He replied his wife would man the pumps, and sales from shop were at normal markup, and the garage would pay the overheads, living expences etc.Basically he could make money at 87c/ltr as he wasn't drawing wages from that side, and as his wife wasn't needing a wage, fell on deaf ears, and threats of removing tanks if he sold less than 89c/ltr.

Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.
When I think it could be nicer being red, or
yellow or gold-
or something much more colorful like that.

It's not easy bein' green.
It seems you blend in with so many other
ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water-
or stars in the sky.

But green's the color of Spring.
And green can be cool and friendly-like.
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
like a mountain, or tall like a tree.

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why?
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine,
it's beautiful!
And I think it's what I want to be.

And green can be big like an ocean, or important
like a mountain, or tall like a tree.

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why?
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine,
it's beautiful!
And I think it's what I want to be.

anyone out there got a multimeter I can borrow for 30secs? Lucus, the Prince of F#@king Darkness has returned to possess Eleanor and the battery is either not charging off the bike or is being drained thoughout the day.

Want to know which curse of plague and pestilence she suffers from to determine if I'll go to the TOMMC ride tomorrow. A quick check for 14.4V while running will answer this current mystery and help me determine which exorcism rites I need to follow to once again banish the evil b@#tard back to the nine hells of Kawasaki whence his foul presence did come forth from!
