9 bikes showed up. 3 had pillions. Did Halcombe Hill then Vineger Hill. Ended up at Murry's. Banged into a few old airforce cobbers, it was nice to catch up. Turns out "Half" is racing in the post classics at Taupo on Sunday.
Going to have serious attemped at shaking off this cold so no riding this weekend.

I work on the theory it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Yep. The hail on halcombe hill was a nice touch.seems to be a trend occuring on the friday night rides that involves me getting very wet.
Fined up a little on vinegar hill which is always a good road. Were you around for the police incident? For once I didnt get a ticket. It was pretty funny.

mint ride. 9 bikes. up halcombe hill the weather was not playing ball and got a bit of hail just to make things more interesting. Main roading it to get to vinegar hill come across Mr Police. Radar detector did its job and followed him for a while before he pulled over and let a few of us past and then followed us into hunterville.
All bikes made it to hunterville without a ticket but as we all regrouped in hunterville Mr Police decided to pick on a car entering hunterville. Funny as. Yod gave the friendly honda rider toot a few times and we were off to vinegar hill.
V. Hill was as good as it always is. Bit wet in places but got through it alright. Mrs C stopped for a bit to take some photos which have been added to my sig.
Into Murrys at fielding for a drink and a chat and before ya know it its nearing 10pm and we best head home. Fucking cold coming home but good night out.
Lets hope there in 1 friday night without rain this year!

No we bailed at SH1 stop,as fuel guage was entering red zone thought,no range to Hunterville and home if no gas station open, should've gassed up before, but at start gauge was showing over half, then at Feilding had dropped quick, due to wind etc.
We saw a cop just past Sanson, and was behind a car doing 105km.Wanted to try the new radar as well, till somecunt(chinese relative)flogged it Weds night.Worked bloody well in the car,so was keen to suss out on the bike.
If anyone has a dodgy f.ckwit offer a Bel RX65 detector without mounting bracket, buy it and get the details, obviously it will be cheap and have no serial numbers, but cops and I will be happpy.

What do you guys get up to on these rides? Do you travel far or late at night?( as in real late) It's just that I'm waiting on some new bike gear (pants, boots and pack) so I aint exactly properly kitted out yet.
And the way things seem to be going at ANZA:angry: I might be waiting a while for my pack to arrive, knew I should have got it from City Honda as it only took them less then 2 days to get the brackets and rack.

never a truer word spoken. we dont need someone standing up and telling everyone how to ride.

I probably have some gear you can borrow if you want. Live about 1 min from start point (and thats if you are walking). pm me if you are keen.

Usually <100km and then talk shit and go home when you feel like it. Could be done by 830 or 1030 depending on what stories are being told.

The rides were set up as a cruisy easy ride to catch up with each other at the end of the week. Normaly leaving Ashhurst Mobil between 6 and 6.30 on a Friday night and lasting about an hour or sometimes a little longer. Finish at a bar or cafe somewhere that serves coffee and wedges for a chat. I am normaly home before 9 An awesome ride for experienced as well as newbies, nobody gives a toss how well or crap you ride as long as you dont do anything stupid that puts others at risk. Turn up, youll love it.
Wont be there this week myself, im off to big boys toys in the big smoke :Punk:

Mint ride tonight. Katman would not have been impressed but it was fun and everyone made it back in one piece.
Those damn Hondas finding shortcuts need a talking too.
Was good being out with the Daytona again. Saddle is mint. (ish.. east side still shoddy) and the track needs some more work on it already.

Don't worry Al, apparantly Kawasaki have contracted Triumph to show them how it's done, begged em to use the factory even.
Excellent night out, great to get back on the Daytona, almost forgot what a good machine it is, demands a lot of concentration and style but it started to come back after awhile. Ashhurst cafe was very pleasant.

Well that explains a lot. So a Triumph is a wanna be kwaka or the cheaoper version of the kwaka (since most have a cylinder missing) A bit like the new Elba is F&P,s cheap range of appliances Kawasaki thought they would make a cheaper version and rebadge it. Maybe they are the factory rejects

I wont. I spent most of today on my bike so pretty shagged at the moment.
And on a side note, I tried out some ear plugs since I saw most of you guys wearing them and boy do they work! Seemed like my bike was going faster and the world outsid my helmet was quiet and calm.

With Summer here (I think) there may be some rides heading over your way. I suggest starting a thread "Wanganui weekly rides" or similar to get in touch with local riders.
Edited : Research shows you've done that. Great to see a keen new biker.
If we head over your way I'll send you a message.

Won't be doing any riding till I get a new front tyre. It appears I picked up a bald patch when I rode to Taupo last week so my front wobbles slightly at about 70km/h. It's noticable at all speeds but worse when hitting that 70km/h mark but smooths out at 100km/h.

Yes it is. Had a bit of entertainment coming through that bit. They should just put big judder bars there to smooth the road out. Would be better than whats there at the moment.
