Cheers for the ride last night guys. It was a lot of fun! Special thanks to Barry for the Kerry Wallis info. It turns out that Kerry is also an expert with the tuning software I have, so he may have some really useful information.
If I don’t see you guys on the road this weekend, I’ll no doubt see you sometime after Easter.:spudwave:
Oh, before I forget. Nice jacket Bonez!!!Do you think it makes me look slimmer? Seriously, I'm happy with it. Pockets for Africa though ah? The cell phone wallet is a nice touch. May even convince me to buy one ;). I'm a neo-Luddite at heart though.

Time to get the trusty leather jacket in to get mended and all spruced up for the next 10 years.

Sorry for not making it to the Cafe but I was very concerned there might be a downpour. I hope you didn't scare all those blondies at the other table Bonez.

Eh, look at you ya bloody cleveage spotter!

On my bestiss behaviour. Bloody damn good cleavage to be seen though. Well worth it.
Very lovely to be sure :niceone::D

Excellent ride people, enjoyed that road even if the road was a little slippery in the odd spot, did anyone else have any slidey moments?:shifty:

Whos hitting the trackday on Sunday? For $40 you'd be mad NOT to. Its the perfect time for anyone new to riding or new to their current bike to take it out in assured one way traffic, with help on hand if need be, to get to grips with a few techniques etc. And the novice class is a pretty good place to start.

No gravel, no sheep, no cars, no surprises and plenty of advise on hand.

You'd need a pretty good reason NOT to be there really.

If the weather is going to be ok i'll be there but not to ride on the track. Just to spectate. I enjoy watching people ride 'round the track but it does'nt carry a great deal interest for me.

Arguably the Manawtu RRRS would be a much better place to gain expert advice since 99.99% of the riding most people do is on the road, not the track.

Bit of a pity you (Meanie) and Monie did'nt make it last night is was a good outing nice roads, bit slippery on the road from Apiti to the main drag though..well I thought so anyway, had the arse step out on me between Dog's place and Apiti too. Been having a play around with suspension settings today and I think there's been some worthwhile improvements.:niceone:

Well, went to Ashurst via Phil Turnbulls tonight (had to drop off last weekends DVD+RW's of the AMA SX and Superbikes - HUGE START CRASH and a Truimph kicking butt in the 600's!! - Anyone else wanting to be added to my distribution list let me know, GP is coming...)

Anyways, met up with the other guy from Feilding, the one with the Busa and the records in Drag racing that still stand today. We waited around to see if anyone would show between 6pm and 6.30pm at Mobil, but other than the locals riding by on a Speed Triple and a ZX 636, nothing was stirring.

So we went back to Feilding, he went home, I headed into the Halcombe hills then back home. A little boring

Anyone riding tomorrow? Me and Lis are picking up a CBR250R in the morning to get setup for our licence tests next week, then we will be off riding... anywhere. Anyone else?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Well we just got home from our ride, went to the Hutt via Shannon, Paecok and home over the takas, Masterton, Mangamaire, Balance and the goerge.
What an awesome night for a ride, a little breezy but no sign of rain anywhere. Its midnight, we just got home and having a coffee.
Life is good

Yep, GP plus, hope the price don't scare the be-jesus out of you though..
My Clover gloves are more comfortable and a little cheaper (but not much) but nice and effective kit rarely come cheap.

We will be at Phil Turnbull's in an hour or so, checking out some new boots and dropping off another DVD (WSBKs Phillip Island round) Dave to pick up, while waiting for the borrowed CBR250R gets a WoF (with luck). So if anyones going for a ride let us know, txt me or Lis on 027 242 0059 for me and 027 224 0603 for Lis.

Unless you want to come and do the paras with me and a guy from palmy ,he is coming over here at about 12?

Will be having lunch/stop in ratahei then probly go back down the same way or detour from oakune backroads to the para's.

no schedule's just whatever comes to mind as we go along.

Bloody hot day it was today eh! ended up going up the parapara's and to oakune then we took a few random backroads back down to wanganui again, friggern great roads ive never even heard of.

Had a guy fly past me on the way up the para's on a gsxr1000 and a Full Suzuki team Leather Kit on, it was really amazing to see someone rideing that fast along such rugged roads, <_< ive got alot more rideing to do i think ...Anyway turned out the guy was Shane from Whitelock Suzuki so no wonder he was flying along :pinch: he did say he was a fast rider

We ended up trying on boots all morning and watching my budget almost double until I found a comfortable pair, and rode around town on the 250 getting used to it for the licence test. Both riding into the speedway tonight.

Longer ride tomorrow I think... back blocks of halcombe are calling the 400's name.

The problems will arise when you become complacent or a bad habit creeps in, like me alwasy taking my hands off the bars, or trying to balance while stationary instead of placing my feet down and for Lis, she stops with only one foot on the ground. You have to use both for the test.

Practice day today for riding correctly... aka anally

I've been racing bikes since knee high to a grasshopper, BMX, MTB, 125 MX, 250 MX, 125 SX both here and overseas (10th in the Northern Territories MX Champs (OZ) in 2000 on a loaned YZ125 while on deployment in Timor) so yes we are on 400's and no we aren't up to legal speed.

New bikes? Not really, I love the 400 and so does she. If they made a 600 or 650 version of a firestorm that would suit her.
If I ever bought a new bike it would probably be an 08 Ten Kate replica Hannspree CBR600RR.

try the Feilding test, where they take you to the steepest hill here, make you ride up halfway. stop. Cut the engine. restart. Pull away and perform the U Turn as your going up the hill.

We have one for crap talk, one for weekend rides and one for friday night rides - Oops I mean, the Manwatu smart peoples friday night ride.
The Friday night ride is easier to keep track of because it always leaves from Ashhurst Mobil and always at 6pm so the only info needed to troll for is the route and most of the time no one cares where we are going.
