Been a little busy lately to do FR rides, and not here next week.
Next year should be better as we should have finished renovating

Just seemed a little odd to me that only Sly managed to get along on a night that did'nt get much better weather wise, may have been one of those instances that most people were busy and the rest did'nt feel like it I suppose.

Rain or shine, the front wheel's gotta go high! Queensland Cops carry guns so I have to get it out of the system here. The bridge challenge is almost sort now. Got 20 regional bridges on the list now and all are being done cleanly, apart from the Monstor Foxton bridge. Wanganui's main bridge has been the best so far! Foxton is the holy grail though given its length! 5 nicely executed variants of the "task" so far sorted.

I'll post up the link to the final vid cut on the Crazy Will Drift website the day I leave NZ in July.

And it shall, in the interests of keeping things publicly polite, be forever know as the "task". If we could all play the game with this point, that would be wheelie, wheelie good and appreciated.

I'm guessing it'll just be me again...lol

Luckily the Wed Night rides are still getting good crowds so I get my fix that way.

Maria looks to have a done deal on a Demonstrator 2009 CBR600RR with only 7km on the clock... thats 7000meters!!!! For AU$12,900 (New price AU$17000) with the usual dealer/factory warranties. Its Black too so shes pretty damn pleased with herself.

Insert away.... shes gone and ridden an R6 and this is her txt quote to me...

" I just rode an R6. Its a f#$kin animal!!! Its like your bike but on V and Cocaine!!!. F*^k the CBR I'm getting an R6! I LOVE IT!!"

That was after riding an old 99 R6 straight after the 08 and '10 model CBR's... got to love her choice of weekend activities. She was in and out over every dealer in Townsville all saturday wheeling, dealing, test riding and batting her cute eyelids at the sales staff.

It paid off.

Shes now pretty much signed off on an 08 R6 with 1000k on the clock in black with metallic red logos.

Wheelied my way to the ride last friday... everyone else bloused. Rain storm caught up so wheelied back through it home. That was the most fun in the rain I've had since MotoX!

Know what you mean. Still having fitment issues with my right exhaust and Motorxparts have ditched TBR. I'm communitcating by email with a manager at TBR but get impression I aint going to get much help hence why I can see why these guys in Auckland don't want to deal with them anymore.

When I have time and money I might pop over to Cycleworks see what they can do to fix the problem.

What's the issue? Mine went together sweet as...

Air leak comming from gasket. New gaskets and all but still an air leak. Funny enough I re-used the old battered gasket for my left pipe and it works fine without new gasket! No matter how tight the clamp bolt is, there is still a small leak but enough to cause temp inbalance between the cans.

Anyhow I'm apparantly not the only one who had fitment issues with TBR hence why Motoxparts ditched the brand.

Just Remember Guys what FNR started out as and what the focus was? to get people out riding and enjoy riding,Not to make people feel it was a race.....A short relxing ride after a weeks work to plan the weekends rides.... We are not all twenty year veterns... and its a great way for newbies to get a veterns advice, dont scare them off

THE STARTING POINT in the 1st post of this thread as below

Manawatu Friday Night Ride. (Be there or be in the square).
I've just had to give Dog's his Triumph back but we thought it would be a great idea to get people out for a cruisy easy short ride on a Thursday or Friday night and end up at a cafe for coffee and a chat

So, ideas and sugestions welcome, the basic idea being a short, no pressure ride around some of the great back roads round here.

All experience levels catered for, it would be great to see some of the newer riders out there and a great chance to pick up tips and hints from the more experienced.

Rides would probably be no more than an hour or so and be home before dark.

So get posting with your ideas guys, now's the time for those warm balmy evenings which are so good on the bikes

Yeah there's a lot of reasons why last seasons FNR's weren't as well patronized as the one previous, some of the above mentioned, also people couldn't be arsed getting their shit together on friday evenings, people had enough of it the previous season, shite weather, otherwise committed to other stuff and yes there were obviously people who felt pressure to ride quicker than they wanted too which is a shame but I don't know how many times it's been said, ride your own ride at your own pace etc... Whatever, a bit more organization might be in order if we get some bigger groups turning up, a bit of clarity as to where we are going etc.. Lead rider, tec, all that stuff needs to be looked at again. I must admit my enthusiasm had waned a bit by the end of last season, heres hoping for some decent weather and some good turn outs.

Absolutely:yes:. The old rides were mint easy rides (subject to rain, windgusts, and solar glare :sweatdrop: ) at the end of a Friday. Pace and spills seemed to get up little .

Hi Guys - Bush riders are kicking off there Twilight Road Rides Oct 9th. All riders welcome, organised with lead rider and TEC. Meeting @ Bisset Honda in Pahiatua 1pm. Rumoured to have Aaron Slight there. Ride will be out to Pongaroa, Dannevirke then onto Tui HQ for a bbq.
Last years inaugural season blossomed into regular great rides and turnouts I'm told. Sounds like a good thing to be part of. Alot of excellent Wairarapa roads to be explored (amongst others) as most of you would know.
For further info get onto there e mail list for ride updates.

Need a bit of a plan of where we are gonna go i guess, would be good to at least attempt organisation
How about a short one to start off with
Ashhurst, over the saddle, through balance, over the track to o cow tree and back to the Inn.
Done that before as a first ride for the year
Unless someone else has a better suggestion

Have a quick question re bike shops in Palmy - gee the situation has changed so much since 07 - what bike shops do you use/recommend for mechanicing? At this stage just thinking in terms of pre-sale inspection for any prospective bikes, particularly as they'll be older ones.

Hope to get out again with you soon!

Mate, it'd make one farkin' quick boat anchor. Part of me wishes my bike was a boat anchor, at least I wouldn't have to keep putting tires on it...

crickey your not wrong there last Time I seen you was after a rather quick trip too Gisborne.....Welcome back to village yes not much has changed...Yod is still convinced he has the best bike on earth

city honda is always good never had a problem there or you could try garry and neil at PNM in the back of the old phil turnbals..meanie will say AFC others will say Anza but we shouldn't talk about flying instructors like that  or you could get some of your local KB'rs too look just stay away from that cowboy fella that has a ZX9 he's bad news

Yeah that was a great trip! And I do remember arriving in Gissy in a rather prompt fashion. Bring on more of those trips!

Thanks for the bike shop tips. Currently looking at a GSXF750 on TM, needs a bit of TLC but $ is good and I like DIY! So I'll see how that goes - will keep you posted.

Re ashust inn, it's the wife's bday on Friday so might not get away with visit this week, but another week for sure!

I'll let you know what it's like after work. Bit windy at the moment, but nice and sunny. I won't be there tonight, as my bike is clean, fueled and ready for our 7am journey to Opunake.:bye:

Cheers Sarge, but this is what we have to look forward to. "Showers becoming heavy for a time in the afternoon and early evening, with thunderstorms south of the Mountain".:crybaby:

Weather at the moment is overcast and there's still a bit of wind. Not looking too bad for the FNR though.
