Yeah I'll be packing a few extra AA's and maybe even a Li-Ion or two. Failing that just watch your step over the 800m of extention lead the 675 will be sporting!
Be my last NZ trackday and Maria will be back in NZ briefly for it two so have to be there even if I have to get Sparkles lil 125 to tow it!
and OWL... my batteries dont die... they're Japanese, its the cheap assed reg/rec that some crackhead Hickley Community College Dropout, aka the Chief Truimph R&D Tech, decided to park out of the airflow sandwiched behind the engine block and in front of the exhaust that surprisingly keeps getting hot. Cor Blimey, whod've thought could eva happen guv'na?
Cant wait to see MV Agusta's attempt at this otherwise brilliant chassis/engine format. Can't be as electrically challenged as the Brits one. Maybe Lada should have been subcontracted that task...

Are you going to do this on the outlap or while we are waiting for clear track like you did last time or you going to come play at the front in a fair competition?
Your original filter would have a certain flow rate inspite of it being ram air, by putting a free' flowing filter on would it not let it flow more air? I mean that's the point of putting any aftermarket filter on.
Flowing more air would'nt it run leaner particularly when the ramming of air comes into effect? Just a thought... :D
Im thinking it will just feed it more fuel. We will find out wednesday!

Well just being talking to cowboyz and say's normally ya book it and cost 50 75, but i think you can split the garage in half, so that you half the price too. You can get stables that are free, with power if you have long cord. So will see what I can get when out there.
Did ya want to see if you can come in with us?? I was going to see on price, but most likely go for stable.

TIME TO THINK ABOUT CORNERING
Look to where you want to go, not to to where you want to avoid. Examples of things you want to avoid are the rider in front, oncoming traffic and the road surface just in front. Where you want to go is the exit to the corner. If your focus is too close then your line through the corner will be erratic and disconcerting. Look to the exit and you'll be amazed how much difference it makes. To help with this we will be encouraging a 3-4 second split between riders to remove at least one of the distractions that might cause you to focus too close.
Never chop the throttle or brake mid corner. If you are too fast into a corner then braking and/or chopping the throttle mid corner is more likely to result in a bin than simply carrying the extra speed and hanging on. Stability in a corner depends a lot on the distribution of weight between front and rear tires. In particular there should be more weight on the larger rear tire. If you brake or roll off the throttle you transfer more weight to the front tire and compress the front shocks. Trust me, this is bad in a corner especially if it's done quickly (in a panic). To maintain the correct balance of weight front-to-rear you need to be accelerating smoothly. We will be encouraging you to reduce your corner entry speed such that you can exit the corner around 10kph faster than you started - ie accelerate gently through the corner.
If you don't understand or want to know more then please ask. Others may also benefit from the explanations given. The speeds we will be leading will provide opportunity to explore these concepts with margin for error. This will not be a fast ride - not even slightly - so save the blat for another time.

Yip, I learned what it sounds like when ya hit the bottom of the forks, guess that's what happens when all the weight is on the front going down hill and you hit the difference in surfaces between road and bridge. Not FMS at all, gave me the heebee geebees.:angry2:

NoTriumphs allowed on the road is why you haven't done it,and you need a passport at border patrol(the pub).
If I recall there is a dinner, bed, brekky promo for $100 or so at the pub,but also camping facilities close.Or in Stratford there is the old hospital which is a backpackers. Can do a few backroads from Stratford to Hawera and mostly staying off highway, then also just out of Hawera is a couple of farmstays/backpackers that I know of.Also if staying the night at these the legendary Tawhiti museum is nearby, and well worth a look, then a few roads to SH3 at Mokoia.

ummmm 941/14 = 67km/hr average........... It might *look* like a long way on the map but its not that hard a ride. Forgotten highway has a repuation but its only the saddle that slows ya down. The rest is mint at 100k/hr. fields track is only like 20km.. Napier/taupo and home as well as taranki are easy 100km/average.. well 90 anyhow. Let me know which 2 days you want to do it and Ill pick ya up second time around.
Plus breaks on that 14 will be 18hrs then the average speeds drops even more to some 52km/hr easy right. All I am saying is why do it at such a rate when ya can make it enjoyable and not....................:wait:
What the hell fine lets do it in one day then.:ride::apumpin::gob::woohoo:

now ya talking. lets say we try an average 80k/hr moving. That leaves 2.5 hours for breaks. you wanna take up smoking? I vote for a day ride. Not adverse to missing fields track either. western access and back to taupo could be entertaining.

1,000km is very doable in 12 hours without being silly. You still get a half hour lunch break but keep the rest of the stops to just gas & a slash. I figure slightly longer for this because of the FH & Fields track, otherwise it's a walk in the park. 80km/h average is what I always budget on for rides like the Southern X but in reality you tend to do better than that on good roads.
I like Sarge's suggestion for those that do not want to do the full distance or feel rushed.

We need to find common ground with the public so that they feel compelled to join our cause. Bike registration is the sideshow. A flawed funding model is the main event. See here for more. (http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B6bLC8EGLnkYODA5OGEwYTgtMDdlYS00NGRjL Tk1ODktNzdjNzM4OTk2M2E1&hl=en)

It's the Gentlemen/Gentlewomen's of Leisure Club. Designed for those who find themselves with some free time during the day or night. The headquarters are situated at a cafe of the members choice, normally Cafe Cuba, Moxies, Barista, Cafe Express, or the Coffee Club. Or any other location, depending on the whim of the members involved. It's informal, relaxed, and leisurely. Topics of discussion range widely and usually weekend rides are mentioned.
