Your pants look much nicer on you than on Al:yes:...:gob::sweatdrop
The weekend was fantastic-lots of work done on the farm and sorting of things-out with the old and in with the new......:woohoo:

Definately too old to be playing against those speedy teenagers:angry2:-and it does hurt when you hit the floor/walls/someone else-no matter how old you are:sweatdrop I will just have to learn to leave them alone.....not:whistle:

Yes it was positive, it's a long story really, been 5 years of no contact due to her upsetting us. We feel it's time to move on, but hey, slowly does it I feel.

Remove the GST content and then you can honestly say your age(adding GST is your option as a manufacturer).
Took me ages as a kid to realise mum was 27yrs or so for 10 yrs.But you are told to respect parents eh?

Never too old though with teenagers and sport, age and experiance beats youth and speed at times.Except the parents on the sidelines whinging when little Joey gets tackled.

See Polly has entered the Vic Club racing next weekend at Taupo. I think its his first race meet and he is no wuss as he's entered in Post Classic and not Clubmans (good choice). Would be good if a few of you locals went up and supported him. Maybe a weekend ride?

Had a great day out on the bikes. Nice steady pace that can be maintained when there is just 2 of you. Swapped bikes with NZSarge and he broke the 9! Well not so much broke but more like run out of fuel. Note to self... when lending your bike make sure there is fuel in it. On the upside, Me on a ZX14 with half a tank of fuel is faster than Sarge on a ZX9r with no fuel.
Anyhow, good day on some fun roads. Attached pic is just for NZSarge. This is where we would have ended up had we not turned around. Dont know if it is sealed but it definitely doesnt loop. Might have to check it out one day.

Well from a whimps point of view, head colds aint fun,the large pints at Rexs are fun. When all had left it was good to chat to a couple of guys about the place.Actually donating the entry fee was always going to happen, ride or not.
Went back at 1/4 to 5 for feed and prizes, didn't win any, bloody hangi was great, meat spuds, and pumpkin with shitloads of bread. The atmosphere was great, talked to Rexs daughter and she is one tough lady, brave after her mum died Thursday.
Homemade firecrackers are great when you are outside and they are let off inside.
Saw Al,and his harem stop by on way back, but as most bikes had gone(3 inside)they pootled off, nice coffee to finish night.

Moving Maria into a new Apartment this morning so no riding.
Then we are spending the long weekend house sitting for Sarah, watching all her DVD's, experimenting with Feijoa Bicardis, Baileys and Hot Chocolate and various other forms of alcohol poisoning and practising my Braziliian Portuguese language lessons without slurring while trying to avoid falling down her front bank. All with no witnesses... should be a VERY interesting weekend.

Dash it I can't even get nicked for speeding without somebody catching on within hours. Yep $170 and no demerits for 123K. Came over the hill (speedo being a bit random) and didn't think I was speeding until Mr Plod :police:put his lights on and suggested a chat in his warm car.
The only downer in three days of awesome riding and apres riding:sunny:
Saturday was the CD mystery ride and we headed out to Vinegar hill via Ashurst and then looped off the Rangawahia turn over the bridge ( I decided to use the tracks instead of the middle this time) then left towards Toe Toe. De ja vue following a gold daytona and green kawasaki, still couldn't catch them and had a slight buttock clencher as I locked up on gravel into a corner, that stopped me thinking about mains electric fencing :Offtopic: For some strange reason I think of cattle stuff on that road.
Great lunch in Ohakune where I managed to agree to go to Brass Monkey next year (must have been dehydrated or something). Fields track was a bit gravelly but still a favourite ride :devil2: then down to Avoca Hotel for beers, chat and dodgy sing star.Would be good place to overnight again in summer, gardens , bbq, vernadah and they locked bikes out the back for us too.
Sunday dawned without the awful weather promised :2thumbsup: and when Trumpy was dragged out of bed and onto his bike it was only 11!!!
Nice meander through twisties to Fordell then split with the group at Hunterville and Horse and I headed to Turangi.
Desert road was cold and a bit icy but gorgeous seeing the mountain; snow covered and shrouded in clouds.
Horse headed home via National Park from Turangi (he can fill you in on that adventure  )
Taupo Napier was dry and quiet for the first 60k with a southerly blowing across it. Then I hit the snow :cold: but it was nothing too arduous for my first snow riding in 20 years. I still made Napier in 1hr20.
Cuppa or three with Pieman and exnapierchicky followed by hot pools, sauna and steam room are just the way to thaw out. Turned the chilly bits into pruned lobster just in time for wine and an italian:lol:
Ride home today was fun and uneventful apart from the not so secret run in with the police :innocent: Got me the hard luck award too!
Happy belated birthday Jono

Spent some of the weekend in Wellie-it very chilly so we went in the cage (86 still recovering from shock:blink:). It was a good drive down-warm, music blaring, lots of laughs and a surprisingly quick trip.
Birthday celebrations to a special lady, off to the Circa theatre for `theatre sports'...NZ had some gifted young people..walks on the waterfront and to Te Papa to check out the colossal squid (not that big but wouldn't want to meet it in a dark alley:shit:).
Good trip back, narrowly missing several men in blue (thanks dear<_<), lattes and giddays to Chanceyy and home to meet up with friends from Texas. Plans are in the wings for a USA jaunt....sounds like an amazing place:sunny:

Is called cops revenge, they figure all bikes speed, but get caught very few times, and them points have a way to appear, minor stuff up in printing ticket on cops behalf, doesn't matter what ticket says,he can even have wrong make of vehicle but it still stands,to my chagrin.

Meet in Palmerston North. I will consult with Gary about the time and place but I suggest 10 AM at the start of the Pahiatua Track.
Pahaitua Track - regroup in Pahiatua just before the main street.
Back roads to Alfredton, then Te Ore Ore (bypassing central Masterton).
Wainuioru and around to join the road north of Gladstone.
Gladstone (not the pub) to Longbush to Martinborough.
Lunch in Martinborough.
The Village Cafe - spacious, room for our gear, and a good menu.
North to Ponatahi, brief stops at Stonehenge Aotearoa and The Haunted House, back roads to Masterton.
Tiki Tour through the centre of Masterton and Queen Elizabeth Park.
Back roads to Mauriceville and Eketahuna.
Final regroup at the Tui Cafe, Mangatanoika.
Return to the Manawatu via the gorge or track.
Cheers Gary!

Sorry if I was a bit jaded, bourboun, chardonnay and brandy last night made getting up early this morning a tad of a challenge:sleep: The Pieman and Brett did a lovely job of dinner but the quiet evening turned into a bit of an all night session and I am getting too old for it!!
Anza shortly after nine to get the 'Bluebird' was a struggle but I made it and got to witness cheesy grins as R. Rattus and Pieman got their new wheels. Don't you love that, reminds you of when you picked up your latest love :2thumbsup:
Brunch at Cuba then as the Bretts headed back to Napier Horse and I decided to go for a spin. Pohongina valley east road has really cleared up and with the red devil on the back the beast was really great on the twisties even on the slightly damp roads.
We hit a slight shower apiti and then let it chase us home. Followed the tracks into Palmie for Horses fix.
Traffic was hell in the square so left the blue cleavage collection til next week

Sounds like some good riding going on there  Just back from Opunake where I had a most enjoyable day messing about in Kerry's workshop fitting grips, oiler, and talking crap. Grips are great and really helped! Almost got a ticket as I was just north of Bulls and thinking of dinner when I got flashed by the red and blues going in the opposite direction. He pulled over but no U turn. Just then passed another one on my side who pulled out after I went past. Followed for a few k but did nothing. Whew.

better a change of undies than a fine eh!?
had the man-grips on a couple of times today, bit frosty on the digits when I chose the summer gloves on the way up then even frostier in the winter gloves after the sun disappeared on the way back....there's nothing like a warm pair of man-grips to keep you company on a chilly ride

The Desert Road itself is in good condition as I saw a lot of work has been done on The Three Sisters when I came from Auckland on bus but driver said it will be all snow in two weeks so I guess snow on the road next week.
Then again SH4 wasn't in good condition as a lot of works going on so the Hornet got mud everywhere. Then there was the large amounts of shiney patches on parts of the highway. My wheel slipped out while going around a 100km/h bend in the wet and I was only doing 80km/h.
Have a safe trip.

awesome ride today. been a while since I been that far in a day. It got fairly fucking cold around parts but the good bits were fantastic. Awakino rocks! Mt messenger was a bit average. Really enjoyed surf highway and following Yod down 8 mile was just magic. All finished off with a "spirited" V Hill run.
run into paulmac in hawera who gave us coffee and let us park a heap of kwakas outside the zooki shop for a bit (and one honda)
and then caught boob johnson escaping the rat race in his car just out of awakino. Good to have a brief catch up.
My pics are in my sig.

Apologies for bailing yesterday, to be fair I should have never turned up as I knew I was'nt really in the mood for a long ride. Too little sleep and in a decidedly average mood was'nt really a great recipe for a 850km ride so by the time we got to the main drag other side of Halcome I was realizing I no business being there. I stopped in at Manfeild yesterday and it took until 11am until my toes warmed up again.
Glad to here you all enjoyed the day yesterday though, and to be fair it was a decent day out at Manfeild too, I learnt a couple of things to boot.
1. My new textile jack is is no good (for me) if you don't have the means to attach it to your pants as it rides up like crazy and I think probably my leather jacket is warmer so all in all I might (might) have bought myself an expensive liner for my leather jacket, ya live and lean I suppose.
2. My winter gloves are a real pain in the arse to put on but probably a bit better than I gave them credit for at keep the cold out and not that I rode though any heavy rain yesterday but seem to be waterproof thus far.

How much did said gloves set you back? I bought myself some Oxford glove insert thingies that you wear inside your normal gloves. Still got wet at the end of my trip up to Auckland but hands were warm.

I too went shopping for warmer hands yesterday. In the end I settled for the cheaper option of thermal inserts. I'll give that a go and see how I get on. Won't make much difference in the wet though so ultimately I'll be up for new gloves or a pair of Rain-Offs to keep out the wet.

all good. it was an adventure alright. got really cold in the middle of the island. its better to bail than crash. I have some new designer scratches on the left hand side of the 9. First time in over 60,000km the fairings have been introduced to the road. It was the bizzareist lie down I have ever seen but I was pretty pissed off. I parked under the sign at pio pio for a photo shoot then walked up the road to get my camera then took a photo and then waited for everyone else to get their bikes sorted and walked back to it to hear monie yelling to catch my bike. I was about 30m away and nothing I could do except watch my bike fall over at 0.00003km/hr. Broke my indicator which was a real hassle cause then I couldnt use it for the rest of the trip!
Following Yod up 8 mile cheered me up a little bit.
Have to look at a paint job for it now.

You too Sarge! I started to head north yesterday afternoon, but ended up with a frozen aching hand. Decided stuff this and headed home.:cold:
I bought a whole pile of electrical stuff to install those "Man Grips", but they are going to be a mission. I'm starting to wonder if I wasted my time and money. That new controller by the way is a "click" type, so I wouldn't imagine you'd have to hold the buttons down. Just a shame the supplied bracket is completely useless, so I'll have to make my own if I install them.
I contacted Kerry on Friday about my starting issue. He gave me some good battery advice (Be patient) and that may have been the issue. Failing that, he narrowed it down to the starter motor (dirty/worn) or sprag clutch $$$$$ beyond belief. Cross fingers!
