just been mucking round wth the TT.

after a few hours I got fire! Pity it wasnt inside the motor!

So after putting the fire out Ive figured the folowing.

its got spark
its got air
its kinda got fuel.

well the fuel is going into the chamber and lighting but then coming back through the carb and starting a fire in the airbox.

I REALLY dont want to take the top off it... thinkng about ether but considering the fire usthad to put out Im thinking no. Tried towing it cause i got sick of kickstart and it is smoking heaps from the airbox. feels like it almost wants to go but not really. I think Im furher away that what I started tbh.


mightjust have to argu with the top of it and seeif I can get it off. just too see.

take tappet cover off before you rip the head off, you may be able to figure it out from there, cud be timing or the inlet valve not seating properly, those wud be my guesses anyway.

Shame about the damage Eleanor received from the VRod Race Special though! Two broken indicators and one video camera lens! Looked like a shotgun had hit it. Luckily no paint damage and I have spare mirrors! Hoping the Stone hit on the camera was caught on film... Man it was a day of getting hammered with rocks!

X2, thanks heaps to Sly and Enzo for one wicked as day, started a bit funny, and just carried on all day long, with jokes and laughs and anticts on our bikes. Once we had all meet up it was off to Waipawa for the thunder ride, which we made but due to lack of commucation it started 10 mins early, so half the bikes sitting on the side of the road and the rest in the parade???? Never mind, great to see 200 plus bikes taking up the whole town. (sorry forgot to take camera so no pictures).
Then I and April (who sponsered the rally and parade) gave out the spot prizes for the parade. I can say I saw some great look bikes, (even if they where HD's)
It was then off the start the Poker run round the local pubs, so it was a short walk to the first one (two as they wher in the same town). First drink of the day, not even 12pm yet! we got on the bikes down to Otane pub for card number two, by now my hand was looking not so good, never was any good at poker.
It was time to travel off to the next pub Pukehou, where we spit the breeze over a little drink. Hand was even worse, now but Enzo was looking good with three 8's, their is hope for the Manawatu riders yet.
Time to hit the best roads so far, one No 2 to the turn off to Boundary rd that meets up with Middle rd, just magic bit of tarmac with some great views to match. It was out our next stop of the day which is just got better and better. Sly bet us to the Patangata Pub and spyed the bridge of bridges and started to wheelie the whole bridge, but could not feel the grove after a few atempts, he gave in for now and we all headed in for lunch. After a little wait, as 100 plus bikies all had the same idea, I ended up with one hell off a burger that I am still thinking is the best I have had in years. Patanagata Pub is now on my radier for next year for a burger trip(Cowboyz, not as far as Rotoura but worthy).
After our perfect lunch Sly was feeling the groove and headed off to the bridge again, this time after a few more atempts he nailed that bridge from start to finish, estimate 800m long.
We headed off to the rally site for a quick hello to all the hardy campers, some still looking worse for wear, while others had just arrived. This made me want to settle in for the night but have made this a must do rally next year.
After having Pillon for most of the day (April which was a great Pillon, but as she meet up with her man she jump on his bike for the ride back) I was let lose for the trip back to Waipawa from the rally site where Sly and the HD had one hell of a race back. Go the Daytona!
Once in Waipawa I pick up my brother for my next pillon down to Pahiatua to pick up his civic (car).After we left Sly at Dannevirke as he was going main rd home, that left Enzo and I, with bro on back. We had a great run with Enzo using the back roads turning off at Oringi meat works ,it was along here that Enzo lives so it was down to just me, missed the turn off to Bluff rd quick u-turn then onto Bluff rd. These are pretty good roads too.
Once I had drop bro off 15 mins south of Pahiatua at 5pm it was then that I was ment to be at a dinner party with the family, taking more back roads that I use to travel when cutting hay as a contractor it was onto the track vai Mangamaire where I was loveing the freedom of not have pillon on the bike and had a fast run over the track to get home at 5.40pm in the house! only 40 mins late for dinner party. Bugger, but I had a primo day!:sunny:

Yep be around hit HW50 about 5.30 ish,as getting darkish,man +80 are great as well on full at night.Spent most of HW50 wary of invoice people after Fridays misdemeanor,but tacked behind a car from Tiko pub till Taradale so mostly at 110km,although one guy led me through Norsewood at great speed,but what an idiot when passing,he went down 50 as well,but easilly doing 160 at places,was thinking where's that bloody cop now.

Yeah, was following Sentox through there the other night, took a different line to him - it was pretty dodgy alright, I didn't figure out what it was until I saw it the next day. Usually the cages make tire tracks through it though, which is nice of them.

yup echo above, awesome weekend riding really and just felt soooooooooooooooooo good to be able to sit on the bike again :lol: fab day riding yesterday, and to top off a relaxing afternoon/ evening with Dogs & Mel, & guests

and roads wet today but managed to stay dry so dodged the rain coming home & just had to move over to get away from the wash coming off the big trucks :niceone:

Yeah nitrogen is all very good and wot not until you have a leak and then it's pointless unless you have access to top your leaking tire up with nitrogen (nitro and common as muck air don't mix well), air is free too. Don't forget by law you'll be required to have green valve caps too... just saying...
Used nitrogen in the tires on the old mans VW and I did'nt think it was worth the drama or cost in the end..

Nitrogen controls the heat in tyres,planes use it,also keeps pressures accurate,less leakage or similar.Have a friend who runs a tyre outlet,he didn't believe the hoopla about nitrogen,thought it was an add on sale from head office,but he put it in his ute,he had a school kid work on Weds after school,got the kid to check pressures and record them,put usually couple of psi weekly in tyres,then added nitro and the pressure has been pretty spot on.Costs $5 per tyre.

It was a mint day out at the track for the test day yesterday, a bit cold in the beginning but became comfortable enough quite quickly. I think Cowboyz day yielded some success, if nothing else we found out that 21 psi in the front tyre does not make for a good handling motorcycle...
Meet some decent sorts there and enjoyed viewing some track action and discovered that Buell 1125CR's crash quite well (in the instance of a lowish speed lowside anyway). Good day out.

Mint ride today. Weather looked half decent so I hit the track, Mangamaire, Taka's, Aka's and home. Heavy rain and wind up the Taka's, got soaked but the new jacket really is good, no water through it at all. Daytona running like a dream. Drying gear out now :yes:

I was reading the tread on the new 10, seems it's not anywhere near as radical as first thought but it's all just rumors at the moment, will be good to see it in the flesh, hope it's more competitive, would be good to see the Kwaka's up the pointy and in WSBK again.

Was beaut last night,sat behind a car(fun)who wanted to sit on 115-135km from 10km from Napier till James Line,great radar guard for me.And when a cop was ahead his radar detector glowed for all to see.

I doubt he'll be there Andrew but you can get ahold of him here on KB... eventually. His plugs are indeed more comfortable no question plus he'll do an in ear monitor for you if you want. He's some where down Kapiti way, should pay him a visit myself.
