Spotted them in the latest Ozzie bike mag a week or so ago and they certainly sound tempting. List price over there was a little cheaper than PR2s IIRC, (but who knows what that means over here), sound like a good all round tyre but it all depends how long they last really.

Not sure yet really, I've had a very good run with the angels, I haven't had a worry with them at all and I've commuted to town is some pretty average weather.
Meanie mentioned PR2's, it will be one of the two, ANZA quoted $10 difference between the two so not sure yet, I'm swaying toward PR2's just to give them a try, just to see if I can beat 11000 km on them:laugh:

Yesterday Monaime and I head thru to Roys Hill (Hawkes Bay) for Flag Marshall training.
Left Ashhurst at 7.10am, great run thru to Dannevirke for a quick coffee, then headed off to HB via Highway 50, awesome ride, traffic minimum, weather perfect, arrived Roys Hill
9am.
Attended training session, then off to Mstrs and Tarts for coffee, then headed home.
By this time the weather had started to pack in, rain from Tinokino, temp had dropped (yes I really need heated hand grips), stopped at Dannevirke to refuel, Sarge and his mate Paul were at BP, so quick chat with them. And off we head, rained all the way home.
Great day out, great company and best of all..........Glad to have a good ride on my bike after so long.

Yeah, depends on a lot of things as to how well your tires last. I got 9k out of my PR2 rear tyre but it probably had another 1k left in it. Which is by far the best milage i've gotten out of a rear tyre. Best thing is now they come in a 190/55 rear too which is a profile i'd be keen to try on my bike.

Yeah, I did a bit of research first and what I found was positive, so that combined with the price certainly made it appealing. It even came with a small spacer to bring it up to matching height for the Yuasa version it replaces (5mm diff.)

not necessarily, there's no way i'd get 15k out of PR2's, 11-12k max
Me too...loving my Angels at the mo (2,000ishkm). Should be worn out by early next year...
Yeah, depends on a lot of things as to how well your tires last. I got 9k out of my PR2 rear tyre but it probably had another 1k left in it. Which is by far the best milage i've gotten out of a rear tyre. Best thing is now they come in a 190/55 rear too which is a profile i'd be keen to try on my bike.

how they heck do they manage this?
I have over 13,000 miles on my PR2s. They are getting close to changing.
that's over 20000kms!!
and how about this guy!!
The mileage has been phenomenal - I got 25,000 miles out of a set once, vs. 10,000 for the OEM Continentals on the bike
over 40000kms on a set?? what's he doing? pushing the fucking thing??
i guess their roads may be a *little* smoother?

Right, for those that are interested, looking at the weather forecast this morning Sunday is looking like a starter.
Coming from where ever you are meet at Dannevirke BP at 10:00am depart 10:30.
Lunch hopefully at the Porangahau pub with any luck and then on to Waipukurau and back to Vegas through a route we can discuss then. Depending on who turns up if anyone this will be a ride at you own pace ride but with numerous stopping points for regathering so don't panic if you want to ride a slower ride, that's all good. It would be prudent though to take extra care given the weather we've been having as I personally have no idea what the road conditions are like, there'll be plenty of time so..

Stoped for a ciggy, where a lovley man on a BMW stopped to check I was alright. Through Awahuri road & Green road, then through Rongotea and out to Sparkies for a Lemon Lime & Bitters. Back into town and off to Rex's for a drink before home time.

that was the question that needed answering today so Mo & I went on a mission to find it this aft (along with a good ride to get ready for the capital 1000k) East was the plan
off to the Bay we headed & yup absolutely stunning weather at Pataengta pub :niceone: so short wee refreshement & time to jump on the bike for a non stop ride back home. Rather windy but easily dealt with, just been a while since riding in it. Get to Dannivegas & temp has dropped about 10 degrees - love the heated handgrips
Get close to woodville & realise the Grand Challenge riders are heading north east spotted Wuzards Eugene, good luck dude !!
Left Mo at end of her road & heading home when I spied this car driving erratically behind me .. himmm opened throttle & left for dead, slowed through Tokomaru and headed out other side and this car was bout 2 feet of the back wheel .. hmmmmm
the stupid idiot passed me on the blind corner .. :nono: backed right off .. did not want a bar of that behaviour .. to be honest I thought I would come around the corner & find them written off.
These young idiots speed up & slowed down all the way to shannon & thought fark it, managed to pop back infront of them before laws hill althought they tried to shut me out :finger: then passing lane up laws hills - :bye: then cracked up even further when the vehicle in front of them pulled out on the hill too. was tempted to sit outside home with my helmet off so they know it was a old chick that learned them
So Great afternoon of riding, awesome company  and yay we found the sun !!

Sounds like it was a good days riding for all, and good on an old chick for dealing to the lads :chase:
I woke up feeling like shite which got worse as the day went on. However, I did manage a ride into town in the morning and test rode a DR650 at Freedom. Mo and I are looking at getting into some adventure riding and the DR seems like one option.
I took it through some twisties and up some gravel and yeah, good way to go  Reminded me of my boyhood XL250 with a bit more more grunt. So, I'm trolling TM for something suitable to explore the gravel with.

Just back from a mint day on the bike. Kaitaia to here via the 'naki - just one card to get at Lake Ferry.
Road conditions for you other mob:
Napier-Wairoa, very badly knocked around with slips etc. Be very careful if wet.
East Cape, not too bad. Lotta bumpy around by Te Puia Springs.
Big diversion about 40-50km East of Opotoki, may be delays and definitely some off-road riding.
Mangamuks, patches of gravel & new seal (was mint in the rain this morning)
Awakino gorge, mint!
Mt Messenger - damn wet when I was there
Everywhere else, a lot of road works and delays...

Yeah at the end of the day I thought the Road 2 is definitely the better tyre but if push comes to shove the Angel might offer a jot more road feel. I also felt that the handling of my bike deteriorated more than any other tyre i've used toward the end of the tires life. I'm slowly but surely becoming suitably impressed the the Power Pures but they are definitely no touring tyre, that said they are wearing evenly and resisting flat spotting like I hoped they would, the front is holding it's shape very well too. I have to take it with a grain of salt at the moment though as this is the first new set of tires to go on since the suspension upgrade and it'll be more obvious what going on if I run different tires next time.

Yep, PR2's FTW! I also felt that the rear was moving around a bit on me - particularly on dodgier roads (funny that). It was a little like not quite getting the pressure's right - I think a higher in the rear may have helped. I have no complaints about the front Angel (must check it's wear too) and both were good in the wet.
how long was the detour?
Probably only 2km but they are working on the road and a big flash sign warns of 30 minute delays. We were there at about 5:30ish and although they were still farting about we went straight around the detour with no hold-ups except for photos.

Well it starts off with a hair cut, (I soooo needed one). Then it was a call to Freedom to see if my part arrived (sorry just a tool, c spanner) and got talking to Dion about the Demo day. Next thing I know I at Freedom signing up to take the GSXR 750 out for a ride.
FMS of a bike, but the rubber on this one were shoot, so over all handling was average, but the power and the easy use of it too, WOW. You really feel as if you are controling the bike not the over way round, (see next one).
The only other problem which is totally fixable in two mins was the throttle cable was lose so the on off the gas was hit and miss.
So the ride, straight back roads to ash vagas to see the power and stopping, Man oh man, perfect. THis bike was awesome, not over powered nor under powered. But very much a rocket if you wanted it too. Yeah baby. After some fun it was off to find some twistes so the saddle springs to mind here, (twice just cause I can). Holding the bike in third was the go first time over, which was a good run to learn bike and check conditions for return trip, he he. The old tyres really showed up here, which was a bugger, so was not the best run but really got an understanding of the bike. SO next run dropped down a gear or two for slower corners, Holy Shit the 750 takes off the a mad cat. FMS. On the return trip to freedom via town I had play with Mappping on bike, totally see were these can come in handy, really like to power delivery in C mode, so smooth.
I think with new rubber that bike would be a wicked bike for roads like that. (and tracks, he he)
After arriving back at Freedom and the break down ofth eride with Dion, he turns round and says right you like to take the GSXR 1000 now?
Oh hell yes was the reply, so back on with the lid after bike was warmed up, it was the same roads again.
Now this bike was so different as it had new rubber been a 2010, the 750 was 09, it also had Big piston's up front, the handling was just unreal, turn on a coin type stuff. Also the throttle cable had been tighten too so the response was way crisper than the 750.
So it was down the long starights towards Ash Vagas, open her up, shit quick change up reving like mad, hold on it only says 10k another 6 more on rev limit, no way thats mad. So I give it another go, lower gear to try to keep speed down (yeah right), I can say above 10k that bike takes off even faster than standing still or rolling start. Crap new paints!
ANyway off to saddle road, I was faster over the saddle than the 750 this time, (tyres I think made a difference here) but was not feeling in as much control as the 750. The thou was so quick out of the corners I found myself short shifting most of the time.
On the second run I keep her in 2 gear and found myself arriving to fast to most corners, but I guess if you had one you would get use to that.
So after a few runs over saddle it was back to Freedom to return the bike :bye:.
Cruzing down the main road I had a play with the mapping thing, heaps of diff from A mode to C mode, (should have put it in this from the start, Yeah right) I found the thou very easy to ride at 100 k in 6th, it even stayed their, unlike the CBR1000 which keep crepping up. You could easly pass cars with out th eneed the change gears, but if you need too you can, if not just to feel the power:innocent:.
Back at Freedom, long chats with guys their and just about brought me a 750 :gob:, but saddly I had to say no:crybaby:, but will be saving my coins now to get me one.:woohoo:
On a side note, they are having a massive sale on tomorrow and sat. So get down and have a look, as I understand it up to and over 50% on some items, like lids, boots and gloves.:woohoo:

PS I saw ya YOD!
FMS of a day
Just sounds like any old day i reckon.

Sounds like an absolute MINT test ride. I'm tempted to take the 750 for a fang myself just to see how they've evolved. Whats this about Cowboyz not owning a Zuki? Other way round isn't it (lol)
