I've got one of those (well not really, quite different) tucked up against a wall. Didn't know it was worth 2k lol. They are flat bottomed sketchy as FUCK fun machines.
And I bet his literally comes with 40 actual horses, just all dead, but freshly dead and ex race horses so worth a bit extra as cloning stock yeah

If it is genuine (and I have no reason to think it is not, but I'm no expert on these weapons) then it may well be worth this.
Modern replicas go for $500 ...
A similar period one (but in much better condition) is for sale at Bonhams and expected to fetch up to 60,000 POUNDS !!!

The blade has a very unusual fuller for the era that he is claiming (the is the groove along the blade to lighten the blade while preserving strength), secondly for a blade that is supposedly around 800 years old (he Mentions Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn) it is in remarkably good shape, compared to the one on the forum above.
Next he makes no mention of how the sword got into his possession (considering we are some 16,288 km from the Holy Lands and most countries now have heavy restrictions on taking any archeological find across borders)
Lastly - if it was a genuine auction, I wouldn't expect it to be on Trademe, people who collect this kind of thing and have the money to pay for antique swords are generally not those that browse trademe - generally they will be going to specialist auctions in person so they can independently verify the swords authenticity in person.
as an age for the sword, I would almost be willing to bet the buy now price that it isn't from the crusades, I reckon its probably only 100-400 years old at the most

Yeah - I saw that one. There is no value mentioned on that. It's interesting to note that that page says very few swords have been recovered from the holy land - further adding doubt to the one on trademe.

You generally can't buy the bearings separately on a roller bearing crank mate. Even though they're pressed together obviously. Have to buy the complete crank assembly with the roller bears etc. As a kid, I had a GPZ1100 that spun the alt rotor off the end of the crank wrecking the taper. Took it to a machinist to machine down, then to a chromer to have it built back up...specifically told the cunt to NOT dip any part of the crank into the acid bath other than the taper as it'd fuck the bearings. Turned up to collect it...and hello...the whole thing had been dipped totally fucking all of the bearings! Being young and not aware of my rights...I purchased a new one. $2100.00 later...and this was in 1984...
Should've burnt the cunts building down.

Now I was going to sell it for $5k not running as that is what I thought it was worth but had no interest. Could also be eBay knock off levers. Can be hard to tell the difference. The braided lines are nice but from what I can see looks like only the Front brake line. Can't remember how much doing braided lines on the Busa cost, it was somewhere around 1K but that included rear & clutch as well.

Who wants to buy a bike with nearly 3x the K's for about the same price? The bike will be up for shit like fork seals, brake disks, bearings, chains, sprockets, cush drives, basically most wear items that most people don't usually replace in the next 1-2 years. When you factor that in (cost of parts, cost of labour, your time to get the bike to the shop and back), even 8k is too expensive for it. It's worth 7k MAXIMUM.

thats me. the seller had deceptively set the opening bid at $3k: I wanted to get an idea of what he thought it was worth so bid it up to within 15% of reserve.
My view is that tardme should only allow you to set an opening bid that is reserve.... that way the first bid buys it and the frenzy commences.

agreed. They have been making them essentially unchanged since 1978 and so they would have paid for the tooling by now. Plus comparing the RRP ($9599 + ORC) to other far more complex bikes does make them pale by comparison.

Do you want to keep it for another year? Right now is a good time to be out on a bike, another couple of months there will be less buyers and therefore a harder sell (lower value). I would think even in the best market a non-LAMS 600 would be hard sell but even more so now with Suzuki's deals at the moment on new bikes.
Listing it at your rock bottom price rather than dropping your asking price every week or two. Let bidding decide if it's worth more while buyers are out looking for a bike. If you don't get any bidders keep the bike and ride it more...

I am not in a hurry to sell. Obviously the first price was way too high. I have dropped the price to see where the market actually is. I have no problem keeping the bike as its a nice bike and i dont ride enough to make a significant difference (in kms or condition) to the bike. Nothing to do with price but be wary of people wanting to come round to your house for a look/asking for a home address. Seems scumbag thieving fuckers delight in finding out where your baby is parked so they can visit it when you aren't home. Already had one dodgy email request for my address (got my DRZ250 for sale) that, when checked, changed to a whole different email address if replied to.

Why stop there? CAsey Stoner lives there too so theres likely at least one MOtoGP Duke and Honda there too. What about Gardiner?
According to something I read, most of that stuff goes in the crusher at the end of the season except their favoured riders (and maybe Championship winners) get to keep an example, and the Honda museum or equivalent.
