nope its the BP station as Wuzards said...they have got some new installation there so there is a little driveway to some electrical /switching boxes....but the key to finding was the combination of the little tree ,the overhead gantry for the train wires and the transformer up the pole..all findeable in street view(not in the same pic though!)

Exactly as I had figured it too, End of the Esplanade first, then realised that I had seen a Shed Display at mitre 10 Mega. Good Tag Mate, and well done to all who made it to the Number 1/300 Tag meet today.

there are only a few places that are up high enough to look down on another suburb...my first thouights were Karepa street in Brooklyn ,bu that wasnt right,If you zoom in to Drogens pic you can see houses down below to the left and high hills in the distance...so i tried Horokiwi as that is highh enough to look down on Korokoro/Maungaraki and Found it cos in satelite view there are only a few housed on the rhs side of the raod with large trees .I also sorta knew that it wasnt right up the top somehow

Nah not me, I get a carpark at work, so it's still economical to take the car. I live up the north end of UH on Fergusson Drive, just past Rimutex. There is another RVF that lives in Welly but heads north each day. His one is way better condition than mine.

agreed...whilst the challenge of a "tough" is a buzz i think it turns a lot of people off.If you look at a tag and have no idea where it is then you cant do anything until the tag is taken,and a new one posted.There will always be tags that only local will recognise but thats the nature of the game.I recognise your tagfor two reasons.I had a mate who had this view from his house,and i used to work in a place immediately in front of that distintive landmark.

gawd you guys are hard task masters....less than two hours.I got the tag and went to Upper Hutt Library to post it up....When i got back to the bike i just HAD to try the NZ tag which was The Church at Reikio Rangi at the Waikanae end of The Akatarawa Road....I nearly Stopped at the library at Paraparaumu (still woulda missed out),then tried a few likeley spots on the way home for a new pan O rama.

Man, Talk about practicing my u turn skills.... So many dead end streets in Whitby. 20 minutes of being lost before I finally had the nouse to look closely at the background hill peak to work out the angle, then an appreciation for the elevation finally got me there. Nice Hide.

Actually there was an easier way....granted you had to have an idea where in Whitby it was,but as soon as you go up Spinnaker Drive(actually i think i saw it from Paremate Road),you can see the half (re) built house.
As for u turns I started doing them in Mervyn Pl,off Grays Road.The ol PD is remarkably stable at low speed,just drag the rear brake,lean away from the turn and turn the bars full lock.
Was gonna post a clue with anchor tied in there somewhere.

I like these ones,its EASY to think that its straightforward from the original tagger POV(no pun intended) but to recreate the view is difficult.My Upper Hutt of mrchips isnt 100 per cent,I stopped at a little road side area just tdown from the top ,decided it wasnt right then went up one corner.In actual fact i think Mr Chips shot was from the very top.My one is easy once you get the general area cos the building site allows the only clear view ,and is a X marking the spot in itself

I suspect that young Scout was in that photo as well ??? I only got as close as this and it was to dangerous to take a pic like Drogens shot (even for me )so i guess its still there till daylight hours.
