Now you know how I felt at lunch time. Left work in the CBD after first checking it was still there. Quick ? blast up to Airlie rd and back again only to find that 3 mins after I left the CBD, it got posted. That's happened to me 2 day's in a row now.

So! As I came up to the roundabout after passing the windwand, a green snot bike went around the next roundabout in front of me and then turned left towards Mirimar rather than right to the airport.
I went and got the tag and did the same as you - A mad biker lane splitting obviously in a hurry. You could see all the cages saying to themselves - 'there goes Hawkeye, trying to get home to post the tag'.:lol:

I didn't race, because like you, I expected it to be gone. I lane split at a very sedate pace. Tonight there was an accident on SH2 which had the Motorway almost standing still just after Aotea. Made splitting very easy athough you do have to watch for the idiots who think the lane next to them is moving faster than theirs. Like you say, it's not worth taking risks just to get a tag. There will be plenty more to go for.

It might be worth considering some upload ground rules, its is one thing to have to get to some of these remote locations and then all the way back home for the upload, but I think once people could do it on site it may well kill the game off pretty quick -I could be wrong of course, it has happened once before .....:spanking:

re remote posting, I dont have this capability but dont have a problem with it. to me its no different than if a tag is posted 10 minutes from you then you have an advantage over somebody an hour away

no seriously. the iphone 3Gs was avalable in NZ from today... go buy one... then install the imageshack application... then you can go to the tag site, check if anyone had it yet... if not, take the photo... the upload from the exact site....

I'm about to :

1) put the sons cage up on jacks to change the UJ on the drive shaft (well supervise both sons doing it themselves because they want to learn) - Quality bonding time.

2) whilst supervising them, give the Katana some much needed TLC as she has been neglected somewhat with chasing tags.

However, the CB is still available so any tag that is within striking distance is open season.

Don't need one, got a BB. And yes I do use it like that, check to make sure
the tag hasn't gone yet before I head home. But so far I have resisted the urge to upload there and then on site as it gives an unfair advantage.

When I played the two holes along side the road, there must have been 40 bikes went passed in that short space of time. Perfect weather for both. This is more fun. More players including a group which are keeping it close to their home turf. I don't mind that, us Valley and Wainui boys (don't think there are any girls playing actively yet) have done this too.

Made the biggest sacrifice of all today. Pulled the Katana out of the garage. and was just about to jump aboard when I notice the slack on the chain. Went back inside to get the socket to loosen the wheel to tighten it when I heard the crash. The bike had rolled forward just enough to cause the side stand to fold. :cry::brick:
Superficial damage, nothing broken but the tail is now marked and the decals on the side looking worse for wear.

i ordered some new server racks a few months ago, they finally turned up while i was out for my afternoon ride.
then when trying to get them upstiars to the server room...

they dont fit in the lift

the server room is 5 floors up....

ok, lets get some moving guys in and take them up the stairs.

in the end, i have had to get a crain to get the racks onto the roof and into ther server room!!!

Hey, I have been watching this thread from the beginning, but my hand didn't let me ride until last Saturday (and it still hurts quite a bit)! It was so painful seeing all those tags going away and not being able to ride!!!

mmmmm, that's a good one aer0.........think I know where it is. it may not be a street view by there are some images on google that have confirmed my thoughts on where it is. Might have to pop out when I ge home if no one has picked it up by then.

I know this one but having just got in and having not worn the wets either going to work or coming home, my gear is currently in the drying cupboard.
