hey KGB have you called the phone number to activate your copy of XP? you may need to call the 0800 number to get a support person to unlock your key. just tell them that you got a Virus or your Hard Drive died... they usualy reset Key's for those excuses...

na do what drogen said.We have done that before,and there is no problem getting a new key.either as drogen said,or even because you cant find the original sleeve or the key has become unreadeable on the machine.

I am having a little trouble trying to place it too.
The closest view I can reproduce is in Google Earth although it doesn't seem high enough above the motorway.
I will need to go for a ride and see if I can find this spot.

Yes:niceone: Location is on SV. However, you can't quite get to the exact spot I took the pic from in SV but it does give you the correct perspective. (You can get to within 25mtrs and then it jumps past).

The clue for me was trhe big red sign to the left(obscured by my bike i think).There is quite a distinctive house behind it.I used these two points to draw a line but as Cloggy said it just wasnt high enough.

Tried that - didn't go past the automated system though as I honestly don't know if my version of windows is actually legit. I did a registry edit and changed the key to another one which I had but then had issues activating windows. Another regedit (dodgy) and windows is now activated but still can't pass the authentication check to use updates.

@StoneY, your assistance would be greatly appreciated! I think the issue I'm having is the keys I have are OEM ones through work etc....

Farkn frustrating though.....as indicated by my sig.....

Sweetacre Drive at the top of Belmont.

That hairpin corner just before this tag used to be a ford through a small creek. And all that road used to be unsealed. Used to ride my mountainbike up there when I lived up Kelson.

I was going to put it at the telephone exchange on Major Drive in Kelson, almost right across the road from aer0's place to see if we could lurk him out of retirement. But unfortunately it was too dark to take a decent pic.
