I had alot of fun, I'm just sorry that my bike ran out of fuel and buggered up the tail end charlie... Hopefully I get her fixed for next time!
Run out of fuel .... I wish I couldnt still remember the time when I did that on a group ride ... I wonder if they still remember :blink:

Tail End Charlie only works if TEC can communicate with Lead Rider.
I have friend in Taupo who rides in a group who have CB radios.
I bought a CB radio for that purpose. Is anyone else interested too.
You need to be a bit techie as its likely to involve a soldering iron :)

This is possible. I have just got home from taking it in to the shop. Left it there for the guys to give a decent service and figure out what the problem is. Was dropping a cylinder while sitting at the shop idling... So I will probably end up bikeless for my x-mas break :(
On a positive note, had a talk with Heath and he is going to let me pay it off so I can hopefully get back out on the road sooner!

Funny I've never had any problem with them, always been value for money & in fact my preferred workshop in Hams.

Apparently the speedo cable was a little loose on the engine block and thats where it was losing oil. Even though it was a system they were unlikely to have touched during the service, they fixed it without charging. So I am rather pleased!

Don't count on me for tomorrow. I got caught out in the big 'shower' (read heavy rain) at lunchtime, so all my good gear got a bit soaked. If my boots and gloves dry out in time I can make it, but I don't want to try to do that run with winter gloves on! (or plain work boots. Ok for around town, but I'd rather proper boots at 100kms).

All good brother. Hit some grit on the road, front slipped a bit so panicked pulled brakes bike went upright and I overshot the corner into the ditch.:Oops:

I was not going too fast almost saved it but ran out of road just lost my balance enough for the scooter to slide a wee bit. Bruised ribs, foot, and side of shin. No gear damage. Rode home just fine.

Visible damage seems minor but need to get the bike to have the vital parts checked. Hope they get it sorted quick.. I'm on leave.. I want to go ride!

Time to put KiwiBike Insurance to the test.

My bikes out of action again - Coming back from the Hotel Ohakune my battery stopped getting charged so had to crash start at Te Kuiti. Got home all right but obviously something needs fixing. Hopefully its only the brushes as we took the alternator cover off yesterday and one off the brushes is worn past the "replace now" line. However Ham Honda and Boyds had no parts and it seems they are a bit scarce. Phone Econohonda on Monday but it looks like it may be a wait for overseas delivery (possibly 2 weeks). Need to get it ready for the big East Coast trip anniversary weekend so may be out until then.

Yeah good ride this morning but gawd wasn't it getting hot on the way back!

I was thinking as I was digging me bloody massive post holes in the searing sun, that it would have been warm on the bike. Would have been better than on a spade though!

Now that's bloody criminal. We did a family trip to Raglan a few days ago - 3 bikes and one car (number 2 can't ride yet). I thought I should see what riding the Daytona was like after riding the KTM for so long. Couldn't have wifie having all the fun scrubbing in the new tyres. The KTM is fun but not as fun as the trumpy with new rubber :chase:


That was one helluva ride today all - best for a while from my POV. Thanks to all who came for making it so enjoyable.

I have some vid footage that I will sort up soon and post up a link if anything is worth looking at.

No problem with a Caltex Hillcrest meet, but if we are meeting there why not go to Okoroire.

If you wanted to head up 22 meet Dinsdale Caltex.

Saw a funny thing coming back from Hawkes Bay after Christmas - a whole herd of scooter riders on tour, all zoomin along the open road hugging the far left hand side of the road. Good on em but how do they do it on them wee things? Might as well have something decent with some power and own some of that road! Each to their own tho eh!? :rockon:

Temperatures actually been ok for me, just my mind dosnt want to go to sleep, once im asleep its all good just trying to get to sleep is the hard part. Really nice little ride to the Nikau Caves Cafe today thanks guys you were great company and good to meet a couple of new faces. Sorry there was confusion about meeting behind the hotel in the carpark rather than out on Garnett Ave. Thanks Jim for leading the way there, and Glen for the return.

7 bikes. Lovely hot dry day. About 200km from home for me. Did we really get that fast?? I don't believe it :laugh: It was a really lovely cruisy ride, no pressure, and no sore arse after!

I know most people are away but this arvo im thinking of going out the back of karapiro and continuing through till the arapuni te awamuta turn off and carry on to te awamutu( i dont know the road names i just know how to get there :bleh:) if any one wants to join let me know, im easy for time, about to go out for a walk so any time after 2ish.
