Bugger! I was heading to get this earlier this morning when I came around the bend at the bottom of the Gorge and the bike started spluttering. Dropped the hand down and switched the lever over to reserve.
Got through the interchange but the bike still didn't feel right. 200 meters later, I ran out of fuel.

2 Bikes stopped (didn't get the name of the first guy but if you're on here - thanks) Also :niceone: to DODGER who also stopped to check I was OK. (Her indoors arrived a minute later with the can). Also had a chick in a cage who stopped and offered a sit in her car until my wife arrived.

I don't understand why the reserve never kicked in so will have to lift the tank tonight to see if there is a kink in the reserve pipe. - Not happy :angry2:

Nah! I've started using the CB for commuting. That was the intention anyway when I first bought the Katana. One for commuting and one for play.
Problem is, everytime I opened the garage and had to make a choice, the Katana always won. I have now managed to wean myself off using the Katana for the short trip into Welly.
The CB is also a lot narrower, good for splitting when the traffic is heavy.

i use flickr,just upload the pic as taken and you can resize it to a std size to keep teh mods happy,its also good fot youse fullahs cos you can view a 1620 x whatever to pick out any sneaky details

And No it is not DOC land, I know this as myself and mates have had to ask permission from the owners of that land to build a mountain bike track.... It is council land, and the concrete blocks were put there to stop illegal dumping. It's the same reason behind that grassy area being fenced off. I'd swear it's practically commercial scale dumping.
We hauled out several rubbish skips worth of garbage already from around that area with more to come. :angry2:

Ok. So this one is a bit of a challenge. The location is easily seen in the satellite view. Street view only goes part of the way to the location.

One word of warning.... The road to get there is Tar seal all the way BUT there are a couple of obstacles that need to be negotiated to get this tag. (The first of which can be seen in street view)

The secret to negotiating them is to take them at normal speed (with no lean).
I took the Katana over them so it is not hard. Just be careful.

Hurt it at work 2 weeks ago (tendon and cartilage damage picking up heavy objects), and I took the brace off so I could wear the bike gloves yesterday.... The action of using the clutch was all a bit too much and I'm paying for it today. :doctor:

Just finished fitting a new CV joint on the son's car so have been out of action most of the day. Couldn't believe the number of times it's changed hands.
