Oh yes, I did have a looky at that one too, but it's almost $3000 more, and seeing as how I can't even afford the yellow peril I had to avert my eyes from a bike so far out of my league. sigh.
Best I not think about it too much. I saw the slippery slope you slid down slofox. :)

Definitely seduced...at present anyway. Still need to own a Ducati before I die.

Actually Boyds didn't put that much on top of what they paid me for mine...AND they stuck a new tyre on it...

They can drain your battery, especially if they aren't put in properly. Trumpy electronics aren't that good to start with either (doesn't matter if they're new or old). You can get good alarms they don't drain it, but they're pretty heavy with the back-up power. You wanna check how much of a discount you'll get from the insurance company to see how long it'll take to pay back.
Personally, just an immobiliser may not cut it and I would only go for for an alarm with tilt and proximately thingie as well. But I really haven't seen the need for it so far. I always park the bike where heaps of people can see it.
Cheers for the feedback bro.
I was thnking of getting a Mongoose jobby with tilt and all that shit. Actually I may have already told the insurance company that I sort of have it (oops).

Yes, but perhaps not quite so black and white if you dont actually own it (yet) :)
When's your test Dazz? Might have to have a celebratory something the next day?

Hey Dazz, thought we might have seen it at the pub last night Josh had his new Blade there, mean machine. Twas a good night and the tavern put on some much appreciated platters of food for us - yum yum.
Calendar event for Sunday put up!! Just did a COPY from previous one so if you registered for it it copied your name across. If you are registered and not going to attend can you please take your name off. Cheers. Sounds like good numbers are intrerested for Sunday so you dry rider types dust of your cobwebs in case (fingers crossed) weather conditions are OK and the rain forecast eases early in the morning.
Saturday 19
A few showers with easterlies, but rain developing overnight with easterlies rising to gale.
Sunday 20
Rain, easing to a few showers. Southeast gales tending southwest and abating.

Well I'm not doing the brekky thing then :( If there ain't enough hashies, it ruins my day. haha.
I was planning on heading down to the naki for a blat but decided that might be unwise when it was pointed out that I've done 850kms and it goes in for the 1st service at 800! Adding another 500kms I don't think would be the best thing for it without the oil changed.
Hashies on this Sunday and hows the service on your bike going - done yet????

yip all done. $180 later. Can't wait for a proper one. Should cost my left nut! We may just have to pop down and clean you out with all your hashies :) Dunno about riding. If it's reasonable weather, I'm building steps, unless I get a shit load done on Saturday.

On a side note
Does anyone know of a new home for these following items ?, Or know of anyone looking for a flatmate.
A nice quite place would be nice in Hamilton or just on the outskirts is fine, Flatmate threw her toys out of the cot yesterday because I had Nicole around on the weekend, despite her friend (and her husband) living with us all for what supposed to only be 3 days, a week for a month, that turned into 5 days and 3 months. So with that aside, flatmate has gone unreasonable.. and its time to move on.
You all know me :) I'm crazy but lovable, I do not dress up too often, and I'm quite, usually :)
1x Leyton
1x Van
1x Dingy motor on tool chest + tools in a nice shiny door-ed cabinet.
1x Motorbike (Must be garaged - selling ASAP)
1x Kings wood Ute (Must be garaged)
1x 10ft Dingy
1x Work car parked on the road ?

Tis largish ask there.
Time to buy a house somehow ..
Get your olds to go part ownership in a place and work on managing the mortgage and repaying your investors..
2 bedroom place next door is going for just under 260K & the front 3 bedroom place for 319K.
Limited for parking etc .. so a unit may not suit and also I know you like mowing lawns !!
Can check with my friend who has some nice rental houses .. He could do you a deal on a rent to own....

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Baby
Technically it was a moral victory. The Italian dude that scored their goal said after that he couldn't believe the ref awarded the goal (or the free-kick for it) - can't remember which. So that's a bit of a chuckle. A bit shit too but I hope the Whities pick it up again. I'm getting pissed off with the NZ public saying they don't expect them to do well...
FUCK IT, win ya bastards (draws are fine too) and astound this rugby nation :)
PS. I've watched only one game of soccer in my life, and don't intend to start but LOVE hearing the results.

And if you are wanting a real bargain, there are some some "make an offer" bins which have 'seconds' in them :)

Yeah, I took the old man over to get some kit and told a few mates about it. The old man brought helmet, gloves and jacket for under $400 (mum wasn't too impressed since it was her credit card) and may mate brought a helmet for $300 and a tire for his Ag for $20! You save heaps. Really worth it. The old mans gloves are awesome for $40.

Bugger forgot about that Foozball. And there are so many mixed bag forecasts about tomorrow I think the official stand is "we don't bloody know what's gonna happen". The arvo is looking not too bad. In saying that, I saw somewhere the this afternoon was meant to be alright. Bollucks to that.

Sounds like me. But I was having to juggle finishing off building steps, sorting out a screaming (I mean ear-ringing level), washing and 3 bloody dogs bloody not shutting up because they were barking at all the other bloody barking dogs of all the bloody neighbours.

DRY ROAD! WOOHOOOOOO...
For the first time in about a month I found some dry road and clear air...eventually anyway.:sunny:
Grabbed the "no rain" window this morning and took off down 39 To Otorohanga. A bit of light fog this side of Pirongia - which turned to pea-soup as I got closer to the mountain...(just as an aside - who'd live in Pirongia? I mean it's lovely an' all, but it sure as hell rains and gets fogged in down there). Anyhoo, I debated cutting it short but deprivation got the upper hand and I carried on to Otorohanga. Which was also fogged in. Stopped for a coffee and a thaw out (was 2.3C when I left) at Troubador cafe - they make gooooood coffee!.
Decided I couldn't handle Oruwhero - Pokuru Rd in the fog so came back up SH3. Couple of clicks north of Oto I came over the hill and into a patch of clear air and dry, wide road - about ten km of it...at last! A chance to let The Vixen do her stuff...which, of course, she did with aplomb.
I'd have to say, these 'ere GSX-R thingummies do like the odd nudge, don't they? Not that I was a fool of course! All strictly almost legal - mostly...Y'know what they say, if nobody saw it, it didn't happen. Did it? No...it didn't. So there.
Sure as hell felt better than farting along on wet roads though.
Oh and Thursday might be fine too by the looks of the metservice charts...:soon:

Niiice, say congrats to Trina for us. Still working on Brooke booking hers. The skill of the rider obviously is reflected on the fine tuition you've given her Murray ;)
On another note, I took the old man for an hour ride yesterday. First time he's ridden in about 30 years! He's been wanting to jump back on a bike ever since I got one. I thought it would be best to get him out with a cruise with me instead of letting him lose by himself.
Interesting to see the different styles (old vs new). Good to get out for a ride though. Well worth taking time off work :)

Glenview to Whatawhata, up to Ngaruawahia and thence to Huntly (via west bank). West on Rotowaro Rd to grab the tag and return. 112km return. Raglan Roast (in Raglan down the alleyway by the video store) also do a mean brew. Any other good coffee spots around Waikato worth a ride? I hear you, I just haven't had the chance to get out on the LOR rides lately. Not to mention I ride for fun on the weekends and when it is bitterly cold, foggy and raining, that doesn't tick my fun boxes. Now it is school holidays so I have busy kid related tasks to do for the next weekend or two.
When I stopped attending the LOR rides regularly it was because the took up pretty much all of sunday. And that was unfair on my wife and the looking after kid duties. So now I am looking to do adventure riding, maybe shorter rides and that.

The ride is looking like a great day out.
I am registered and keen to be there, however slight hiccup - friggin bike is running like a bag of assholes! I'm pretty sure it's just the spark plugs so I need to find a spark plug spanner that will fit the very tight spot on the bonnie.
Other thing I need to keep mind of is that this bike apparently will only do 100 miles to the tank so will need to keep an eye out for gas stations along the way (cheers Murray).
Hopefully I'll get the thing running properly tomorrow, if not I won't be cracking out the racing Scorpio - after getting used to blasting on the trumpy the wee yamaha is just not enjoyable on the open road!

Just let me know anyway, it will be just round the corner from Kingsgate, at my work (f*@k it all!). SO gutted I'm going to miss out on this ride! Also - finished with ya sockets and read the 'zine cover to cover and back again, so will have to return them sometime soon.
Your a good mate Rusty Ringbolts - a very kind offer.
However, got the man machine back in order, for now anyway.
I think it runs a bit too rich - can be a fucker to start when cold and the plugs are getting fuel fouled easily.
I've whipped them out and given them a bit of a rub so we'll hope for the best.
Quite excited about the growing group of riders for tomorrow - awesome!
And silly Mrs JMK got her days muddled up LOL so we may come down in the morning and go some of the way with you but please dont wait around for us, cheers

A small number of us ended up doing 22 (until a couple of riders turned off too early down Harrington road) the rest of us ended up at Raglan for coffee

Didn't realise you cant get from Kaiaua to Bombay without going along SH2.
So when we appeared on SH2 at Mangatawhiri we opted to turn towards Mercer, where we gassed up and headed onto SH22.
Great outing :)

Awesome day here in Cairns. Hired a trumpy speedmaster & did a 250 km loop - Cairns - Kurunda- Mareeba- Mossman Gorge- Port Douglas- Capt Cook Highway (down the coast to cairns).
As we got into the first set of lovelies - 1st corner 40km LH'er , I figured that she'd get around that, at about 80 k's - WRONG - side stand, pegs & feet all scraped & a slap from the pillion & some mutterings about it being a cruiser & not the VTR, had me easin up a lil bit. :nono: :shit: What a wicked piece of twisties non the less. Kangaroo warning signs & unfenced stock signs makes one scan the landscape a lil more than normal too. A hop-bang, woudn't be a lotta fun. Lovely trip down the Capt Cook highway , but honestly it has nothing on the the coast road up from Thames. All n all a great day out on a not so nimble cruiser. Home 5.30 AM Wed Morn so may be at the pub Wed Night. Sounds like a good turnout today for the LOR's & some fine weather at last !!

Our group was wondering what happened to that bigger one. We took a few random roads and they turned out to be bloody good.

We were trying to figure out where you had gone. It took a while for us to work out you more than likely went down SH1, it took me even longer to work out you had pointed that you were going down SH1 before we headed off. Obviously I can't count using my mirrors because I could have sworn you started riding with us. We got there in the end.

Pity I had to bail early - would have loved to do the full thing. Still, had an enjoyable trip back up the west side of the river with only one minor scare from a mufti that I passed just before the yellow lines went solid...he checked me with his little speed detecting device but fortunately I did slow down for the 50k zone at Te Kowhai...specially once the detector went off..

All good!! Last count was 23 bikes before we left. Apologies for leaving someone at the Thomas Rd BP but glad you made it to Kaiuia anyway. Really enjoyable ride and nice to see some new faces and some of the older LOR members turn up. Even though it was cold I really enjoyed the run and had sort of planned the route to try and avoid to much slippery and twisty areas as the frost/ice is a bit of a bastard this time of year. Even though we split in all different directions coming back hope you all enjoyed finding your way back and had company whichever way you went. I was one of the ones who got lost coming back, thought we were heading to the Bombays and ended up at Mercer?? Surprising that I came round one down hill corner on the mercer road and it still had an ice strip from where the overhang had been dripping all day and no sun to be seen. Just shows what it can be like this time of year.
Heres hoping we get another good sunny sunday sometime soon!!

Smaller group today, started with 6, including a good looking HD Softtail, good to meet you Hortz, and the number increased to 7 with Nigel at Huntly and down to 6 again with Slofox peeling off at Rangariri. Bloody cold and foggy north of Huntly until Tuakau but the sun was out at Pukekohe.
Good range of bikes and some that you don't see every day, especially the Indian in the 2nd pic, yes it was running and would not meet the 95db requirement, it was loud.
Pics, 1st is us parking up, the wee bike is a spare, 2nd & 3rd are bikes on display, 198 is Paul's race number.
Unfortinately I had to leave early for a meeting in Ellerslie and the last pic is of 2 of the more desirable bikes at the NZMCRR AGM. It was a lot warmer coming home.

Roads like:
Pekanui Rd - nice sealed road, tight and technical but doesn't connect to another fully sealed road
Pirongia West Rd - a one laned goat trail that hugs the southern side of Mt Pirongia
Okupata Rd - an ok road 50% sealed 50% gravel
Te Rauamoa Rd - A Gravel Rd with easily enough gravel to make a whole other road
I went through Kawhia Rd and am still puzzled at why it's closed aside from the padlocked gate close to one end and the stolen gate 500mtrs on, the only other obstacle is a little dip in the road that the daytona would've got across
