Which is why I have been riding between 5.00am and 8.00am.

Took the back roads today.

A stop on Okupata road.

Very lucky to find a park in the main street.

Returning, we decided a bit more gravel would be fun so turned right onto Kaimango road, then left onto Honikiwi rd. Two pics from the go pro.

Once off the gravel, Honikiwi road was a fantastic run. Phil hadn't been over this road before and he enjoyed flicking the KLR through the corners.
Tar was just starting to melt in a few places so we were pleased to be home by lunch time.

Accuweather has a "pleasant with some sun" forecast and Metservice "Showers developing. Southwesterlies, easing later."

So no real excuses for not having a ride before most of you return to work. Those lucky ones.

May have a new rider coming along with his re-retroed retro Triumph, sounds keen but lets see.

Leaving Kingsgate Hotel car park 10.30 am

head along new express way past Cambridge and turn left at the petrol station and straight through (not the Hobbiton turn off) and on to Okoroire to catch up with the other bike minded people that usually congregate there on a Sunday afternoon.

all the best for 2016 - all of you

Is it worth riding? Its part of a greater loop I was planning to do in the next month or so, there is a few longer weekends coming.
Like the NZ bikers ride day on the 6th Feb - 'Get out and Ride' is the slogan

The loop taking on the Kawhia/harbour/Waitomo roads have great scenery, a million corners, with a couple of diversions to Taharoa and Maracopa. These two involve returning along the same road to get back onto the main loop. About a 150k loop from Te A back to Te A. Many will ride right into Kawhia then back out to Harbour road.

From Marakopa you can take a 80k? run down to Awakino then either return via SH3 or as I would do, pick back roads either side of the highway, running back to Te Awamutu. Just mile after mile of corners, views, little traffic.

The Marokopa falls are a 10min walk downhill and a 15min walk uphill coming back. Worth seeing but be wary of leaving your gear with the bike. Same thing applys with the natural bridge.

Point taken. That's a bugger, NZ becoming a place you can no longer leave stuff/bike and expect it to be there when you come back. So I will be lugging it along the trail:2guns:
it isn't much stuff but when it's gone it's the inconvenience.

...since I have ridden about 1500km since Christmas, all of it at or around the speed limit (well, mostly anyway). All that unused power...sigh.

Mind you, it came in handy this morning. I'd been out for a bit of a ride which included a couple of km on SH1 between Horahora Rd and Karapiro village. As I approached the turnoff to the Karapiro dam, I spotted a copper :Police: on the side of the road. He must have just finished up with his last "customer" coz he moved off before I passed him. He turned off to head over the dam as well. When I got to the dam itself he was in a line just moving onto the dam. I assumed I'd drop in behind him but no, he moved off so he could slot in behind me. Suspicious bastard. Followed me all the way back to Leamington with his bloody radar on the whole way. I started out at around the 100 - 102km/hr mark but slowly dropped it back to low 90's. He just stayed behind. Eventually disappeared. Guess he realised I was just some boring old fart to whom he could not issue a ticket today. Like I said, suspicious bastard. <_<

Awa and I had this on the 1KC last year, he was on the other side of the road, saw us and did a ewee and then promptly stayed behind me for about 5 ks. No worry really we were behind a line of cars all doing the limit
I guessed he might have seen all the others on the ride earlier, whizzing past. :innocent: (Awa was otherwise occupied clearing a path through the bugs)

Also had this down south, similar to you, I expect he thought I would overtake the cars in front, but they were doing 100 at a good pace. Then proceeded to speed up and tailgate me to see if I would move - as well as take photo (hope he got my good side) then after a few ks grew bored and speed off. Don't mind tagging behind others when the views nice.

Eldog, the weekend of the 6th Feb may not be the best time for a quiet cruise over the Kawhia road. There is the Kawhia sea food festival on that Saturday. Great if you want to share a narrow windy road with hundreds of cages, but for a laid back cruise I would go further south. Maybe the Waitomo-Marokopa- Awaikino circuit or maybe the lost highway route.

Hey lads, long time no post, been awhile, must get back on a KB ride some time.

I was out on this loop the very next morning after you Awa, on Sat three of us headed round it anti-clockwise (have never done it clockwise, spose I should some time). As you mention there's a few rough spots but having been round there a few times now I'd have to say the condition was better than average. There was a lot of patchy seal that seemed to have been swept so although it looked dodgy (and of course was always right on the corners) it was actually OK. It's one of those routes where you really have to keep your cool and dial back the right hand a little, expect the unexpected etc..

Was bloody hot work so treated ourselves to a beer at The Redoubt in TA on the way home :)

I would have been really frustrated if I went to Kawhia on 6th.

May go further south and do that later, in the planning stage but got a few parties to attend as well.

Today's ride...Side roads to Otorohanga, thence SH3 and SH4 to Taumarunui and return. Map from Motowhere doesn't seem to work any more...

Just fancied riding the section of SH4 between the junction with SH3 and Taumarunui. Was tempted to come back via the west side of Lake Taupo but wasn't sure that the bones would stand up to that. As it turned out, it would have been no problem. Still, this way I got to ride the chosen section of highway twice. Better coming back too; seemed easier travelling north than south.

Today's ride: Otorohanga (via 39), Te Kuiti, to Whakamaru through Benneydale, over the dam and up to Old Taupo Rd, back to Arapuni, Kihikihi and return to Te Tron via Paterangi Rd.

I had forgotten just how interesting the Benneydale route is (SH30). Stopped for gas in Benneydale because the GPS said there is a Mobil Station there and I figured I could use my Mobilcard and get 10c/l off the pump price. Well, not quite. There is a Mobil outlet there. But he doesn't do Mobilcard nor does he sell 95 octane, only 91. For $1.83 per litre (currently 1.46 at Mobil Lake Road). But needs must. Since I didn't fancy pushing the bike all the way home I ponied up the dollars and went on my merry way.

Stopped for pie and coffee at Whakamaru, blasted up Whakamaru Road and came home via above route. Nice cool overcast day, dry roads, almost no traffic and not one traffic cop :Police:. Woohoo. Great day for a ride. Had a ball!

Incidentally, the Mobilcard, if you have a supergold card, is well worth having. It gives 10c/litre off whatever you pay at the pump. So yesterday, Mobil Lake Rd had 10c/l off anyway. The pump price of 95 octane was 1.54.9c/l. I will pay 1.44.9c/l when the bill comes next month. About the only benefit of being old that I have found so far...now for my afternoon nap.

After many highs & lows with the Hotel being sold and taken over it has all seemed to work out in a positive way.

I will be moving to Whangarei to take up a Hotel role there.

Leaving Friday so if anyone feels like having a beer with me and Trina this Wednesday will be our last night at the clubrooms.

We have invited some of our workmates so could be a good night!!

For some reason I keep going back to ride this one again and again. Why? Dunno. Could be the lack of much traffic over most of it. Could be the lack of coppers as well. Might be that it is sweepy with a few twisty bits thrown in from time to time. Could be Old Taupo Road section which is a great ride. Who knows? I just keep going back. A tick under 300km all up. Try it and see for yourself...

Your link works. That's a good ride. So many variations there, you could come back up past Waipapa dam and cut through the Ngaroma road for one.

I'm going out tonight just after sunset to try for some moonlight night photos over the Arapuni, Horahora lakes. Should be a good ride around Mt Maungatautari.

I have ridden that variation often. Whakamaru Rd beats Waipapa Rd though in my book. Specially since it leads to Old Taupo Rd...

It was a brilliant night for a ride. Balmy, Big moon just above the horizon, untill it got higher and disappeared behind the cloud cover. The 250 could use the lighting upgraded, but I may move it on after May.

The photography was a disaster. The point & shoot is totally useless at night. Okay for stuff up to about 6 metres away but the programme mode and the night scenes modes are hopeless. Horahora lake looked beautiful with the moon above the far side and the moonlight reflecting off the surface. None of the photos are worth posting. When I finish work end of May, I will be buying a DSLR or Mirrorless camera and a decent tripod.

There is a dedicated photography shop in Hamilton that hires out dslr cameras. I'm tempted to get a camera out for a weekend and see what a difference a decent camera can make. Trouble is, a hire camera and lens runs to around $200 a day and it's not the sort of equipment I would ever ask to borrow.

I'm taking a demo Kawasaki Vulcan 650 for a ride tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to that.

Bloody comfy seat!!!!!!!!!

Not a fan of the cheaper Kawasaki motors though, let me know if you find the throttle on/off at low revs

Had a run on the Kawasaki Vulcan 650 this afternoon. It was spot on for me. The riding position was perfect, and it felt so light throwing it through the corners. The motor only had 200k on it so I took it easy. Plenty of mid range torque, vibes were minimal until one brief burst up to 5,000 rpm when the vibrations became more noticable. In 6th gear it pulled away from about 70kph without any hesitation, much slower and you would be changing down. It does not have the stump pulling torque of a big V twin but it never felt like a long heavy cruiser either. I loved cornering on this bike.

I could be very happy with this bike. Unfortunately, the dealer apparently expects me to pay for it. <_< Damned inconvenient that :doh: The demo bike is at Wilkspenny Motorcycles. I had told Mark I could not look at getting serious about a new bike untill end of May but he was happy for me to take it out anyway.
At $11,000 for a LAM's bike it is not cheap, the unrestricted version (without ABS) is a grand cheaper. As an older rider who just wants a good all round road bike, it would suit me.

We had a house lot of screaming babies, toddlers, mothers, grandmothers etc today, so it was off for a ride somewhere. I found myself on Buckland road and stopped for this pic. Quite a bit of fog around the hills.

http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/1_11.jpg

Over the top of the Kaimais and decided to have a look along Hanga road. It goes nowhere but if shit should ever happen, this is where you need to assemble. The sign says so :nono: .

http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/2_12.jpg

Note the NZ MoD designed 'Fall out ' shelter in the back ground. Snooping around I spied a secret red briefcase behind the sign.

http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/3_9.jpg

I didn't dare open the thing in case a red bat phone went off in a reinforced bunker somewhere in Wellington and the armed forces descended from nowhere.
Maybe someone can explain WTF it is doing there.

Had a look around some bikes at Bayride, caught up with an elderly cousin. Twelve months ago, she was one of the sharpest tacks around. Alziemers has moved in and I was so saddened to see her now.

Back on the road and I did a loop around the Oripi Gorge road and back over the Kaimai range. 266k today and my planned ride is tomorrow. The rain may make the day interesting. If it is showers, I'll go, if it is heavy rain, I will stay home and sulk. :argh:

Nice views out there when the tide is in.

Three of us went on a ride this morning. Phil and I covered nearly 400k. Lance (Eldog) who came down from Papakura would probably break the 650k mark. Infact, as I type this, Lance is still on the way home.

Good for you Lance, for coming all that way to join in. The weather was good all the way, not a drop of rain. We covered roads between Lake Taupo and Lake Whakamaru, then crossed the Waikato river at Tutukau, wound our way through some back roads within the Waikiti Valley, Rotorua, Mamaku's and back home.

Some fantastic roads, will load a ride report later on under the Waikato Rides thread. Right now I'm downloading 19GB (4hr 37min) of video footage plus the camera stills. Fairly drained at the moment, coffee tastes great.

Found the same thing about Huntly and Drury every bloody Sunday afternoon, it's a weekend for God's sake where are all the bloody heathens going. River road gets rid of Huntly and getting off at Drury and going out back of Ardmore gets past Drury, shouldn't bloody have to but hey we live in this great big city, comes with the territory.
Started off splitting the traffic, but the Waikato highway patrol boys don't like that so took to the back roads.

Lance, if you are interested in coming down, I'll cut out the Ngapaenga loop (see plan B) and stay on the hard stuff. If the promised rain arrives, the gravel wont be much fun (I'm thinking cleaning the cruiser afterwards:pinch: ).

Plan B would be stay on Mairoa rd, Piopio, Aria, SH4, Ongarue, Waimiha, Whakamaru, 2nd coffee & pie, then Wharepapa Sth, home.

This AKL member of WLOR is currently keen, weather permitting.
some of these destinations are close to a currently planned trip involving a few waterfalls. So it would be good to survey the land a bit before I try that one.
as long as the gravel isn't too loose or deep then that might be ok too.

Wet roads throughout the day's ride but the rain kept ahead of us. The usual route through Waitomo, Mairoa to Piopio, Roads were wet so we kept the speed to a steady clip. From Piopio we rode through Aria (nobody home there) then went straight ahead instead of turning left. This had us on the Ohura road, then the Aria-Maitiere road. 20k of gravel lay ahead.

Lance had not ridden his 800 Boulevard on gravel before, but I assured him it was just like in this photo.
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/Capture%2001.jpg

I forgot the 'scenic' reserve part way along.
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/Capture%208.jpg

Lance just took it easy and nothing went bellyup. Got back on the seal and rolled along to Maitiere. After the previous road the Ohura road out to SH4 seemed like a motorway, almost,
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w420/awa355/Capture%2012.jpg

From SH4 we turned onto Kopaki rd then left into Tekuiti. A side road to Oto, then an easy run back to Te Awamutu.About 280 k for me but Lance still had to get back to Auckland, so still had a ride ahead of him.

Another excellent ride and great company.
We didn't get wet, unlike some others

just don't believe the travel brochure.....:shit:
the salesman is awesome. You 'forgot' LOL

I always wanted to do adventure riding just not on a cruiser.:woohoo:
well it went OK. Just got to read the gravel map and make sure keep throttle open
Still Phil amazed me with the tallest bike whizzing thru the gravel like it wasn't there.
Did it remind you of the roads around between Port Waikato, (Landsdowne) and north of Raglan?
So much higher CoG than us, must have stood on the pegs?

Awa great work on the post above.
the actual gravel was a lot worse than you show.
and the top dressing plane coming over the top of us at such a low level was a good effect too.

would go again at a moments notice, thanks guys.

True and somewhat infamous story of a female KBer that urgently needed to relieve the pressure from within, central Hawkes Bay, night time trousers down...happily doing what was needed when.. without warning a pheasant headed northbound between said downed trousers and lower groin area. Splitting the whisker perfectly you could say.

Hey Guys & Gals

The FBMC (a group of good people who we have ridden with regularly) are organising a weekend away up to Whangarei - their website is now up and running again so you may want to look at details on there if interested. Weekend 24/25 this month or those approx date. You may need to go through the registering process as some one has previously maliciuosly hacked the site.

If having trouble and your interested I can put some details on here - let me know.

Hope all are well

I think the ride info is available to guests.... you will need to confirm if going being an over night trip and if having issues registering a note here and someone will try to sort it, the forum is going well once registered but there are some glitches in that part still

I have my bike listed for sale so am making the most of the weather this weekend.

Leaving Te A tomorrow (that's Sunday for those without a calender) about 10am. Plan A is ride through Ohura, turn left at River road back to Taumarunui, back road to Ongarue, Waimiha TeKuiti.

Plan B is 'somewhere else'. Maybe straight to Taumarunui, National park, Turangi, western bay rd.

A King Country frost will likely mean ice on the shaded corners most, if not all of the day. Will also mean some lovely views around N Park.

from the latest update

"Tauranga trundle

Righty ho I better get some times together for this ride, Things have been nuts at work but I guess better late than never :P
Northern meet point Caltex Bombay 9:30am and roll out at 10am and off to Matamata to the Southern meet point around 11:20am at the Car Park between the info centre (looks like the hobbits home) and Public toilets, if the carpark is full I figure the bikes can ride out under the trees as it seems hobbitville gets busy at times
A quick chin wag and time to set sail for Tauranga at 11:40ish well least near Tauranga for a refuel and head towards the Karangahake Gorge stopping for a bite to eat and a refreshment stop then on our way again

Total K’s for the day (Bombay to Bombay) 330K’s

feel free to ask or add info, like a suggested Lunch spot as its still TBC (somewhere between Bethlehem and Wahi recommended for a lunch stop)"

Buzzed over to Rags and back this afternoon.

Returning around the corner into Dinsdale and there at the intersection with Newcastle Rd was a fleet of Politzenkoppen cars plus a herd of coppers all over the place. Thought to myself, "Hell, I may have been a little bit fast at times out there but I didn't think I warranted this kind of response!"

Howsumever, they just waved me through. They seemed to be more interested in those heading out of the city than in those entering it.

Now what pie to try this time, I might try something other than the Oxtail pie….but damn its good so not so sure.

Caltex Bombay meet point 9:45 and roll out at 10am, For those that are from the southern end Whatawhata would make a good meet point outside the old Tavern/GAS station and we should roll in at 11am so aim to be there at 10:45am

Then off to get some pies :D

The loop is around 300K’s so for those that need it we will stop for gas at Te Kawa (Should be open 150K) or going back past Whatawhata (180K)"

We then went to Waikeria Prison. A first time for me in any prison an luckily on the right side of the fence. Again we had a fantastic greating by the prisoners, who had put a lot of work into their presentation. It was a pleasure to meet them. Next year I'll try to join for a couple of days.

This is about 300km long depending on which set of roads you take around Te Tron. Today's went like this.

Gas up at Mobil Lake Road. Head out to SH39 via Tuhikaramea. Head south through Pirongia to Otorohanga. South on SH3 to Te Kuiti. (Or you can take Old Te Kuiti Road if you want.) And this is where it gets interesting. Head East on SH30 through Benneydale. A mix of sweeps, a few twists and some long straightish bits. But deserted (between 7.30 and 8.30 am anyway) and today cool, overcast and very quiet. Stop at Whakamaru for coffee and pies. Cross river on Dam, proceed towards Tokoroa on Whakamaru Road :devil2:. Which is really sweepy and very prone to inviting one to gain some velocity.... Turn North on Old Taupo Road and follow twists through to Arapuni. Go west on Arapuni Road to Kihikihi. Return to Te Tron via Patarangi Road, Kakaramea Road, SH23, Whatawhata and home.

About four hours including stops, refuelling, eating and allowing the neck, knees and arse to stop hurting...

Great ride. Best done early in the day when there is almost no traffic.

The coast road offers some awesome views down the coast to include Mt Egmont on a good day.
B)
head over to Kaiaua via Bombay, there is a nice road on the southern end of the Hunua Ranges that drops you down rite into Kaiaua

Decided to duck through Ohautira Road today (runs between the Hamilton Raglan highway and the road through Waingaro. It's actually the southern end of SH22). I've ridden it more times than I can remember so am aware of the fact that there are a few things to watch for. F'rinstance...

There used to be a patch of gravel at the top of the small rise over the hills. This is all sealed now. But there are "seal repairs" in that stretch at present. And in keeping with all "seal repairs" that I have come across this summer, the loose blue chip has been left to its own devices. And for the entertainment of motor cyclists, it presents a ball bearing surface to navigate. Very thoughtful of the road fixers I reckon...thanks guys.

There are a couple of signs along this stretch of road warning about "roaming stock". Not to be taken lightly. Today it was two groups of braindead sheep. Long tailed sheep that have probably been feral for several decades by now. And as usual, there is a suicidal maniac in each group - the sheep that spins around and runs in the opposite direction to the rest of the mob. Usually straight into the path of any handy motorbikes... If I thought I could have got it home, it might have filled the larder for several weeks. Chance missed right there.

In keeping with brain dead sheep, there are also many braindead pukeko around as well. Same as the sheep, one of them turns away from the flock then tries to commit suicide by motorbike. I nearly got him but missed. Bugger.

There is a tendency out that way for locals to use the whole road. At all times. Both lanes where possible and the wrong lane most often. For some unknown reason, I didn't see a single example of this today. Could it be that the locals are losing their touch? How sad. I miss the burst of adrenaline. Road gets boring without meeting an SUV head on on your side of the road.

Other than that, it was a very pleasant ride.

Have fun all.

Moise
12th February 2017, 14:29
It's certainly an interesting ride. I haven't seen any wandering stock, but the locals use it as an extension of their farms!

I don't know what the problem is with the patches that they've just repaired, but they seemed to be breaking up when I was down there a couple of months ago.

Waikato: The perpetual potholes still exist between Waharoa and Matamata mostly North to South on the LHS of the lane for those wanting some extra adventure riding.

Meanwhile the surrounding countryside is great.

Piopio: Don't know if the Concrete Shot Spraying and cliff retention works are still being carried out south of Piopio. These road workers are great, they are considerate and don't need 500 auxiliary flashy light vehicles before and after their workplace. Had to laugh at the green signs when starting off through the road works, the sign was SLOW to pass through. At the end of the works the sign was GO.

There were quite a few places where very small slips had occurred, but a lot of places which looked like they will slide in the near future once the winter sets in and ice heave takes place.

Waikato - still a great place for Laxed Out rides :scooter:

I found a new road hazard this morning. As I left Te Tron heading west, there was a cardboard banana box sitting in the middle of my lane. No big deal huh? Except that it was in deep shadow and I only just spotted it in time. Moved over but still toed it with the boot. Felt quite heavy on the boot - maybe it was full of bananas? Or something else...anyhoo, was glad I hadn't ridden right into it. Never met one of those on the road before.

I went to work on Friday night , Heading out from home I go past the Laughing Peacock Cafe, I was taking a left corner , so bike leaning over and I get a glimpse of something as 4 big ass peahens raced out onto the road too my right at a rapid rate of knots with nowhere to go but into me, they hit my boots pretty hard, knocked my foot off peg, went to put foot back on peg and it's been smashed off, turn back around and three of them dead scattered on road

Poor 'bike. Peahen for dinner? I encountered a pheasant on that road last year, but thankfully, no strike.

Well thats about 2 weeks before they drop off thier necks and are ready to eat, then it's 3 nights of glorious pheasant meals.
Glad you did it all the right way and ended up still on 2 wheels. Had a Turkey go between my front wheel and the rear wheel on the Nike rd once, close as I want to come to being cassina'd by a fucking dog.

Newbie keen for low-key rides. Based just south of Hamilton on weekends. Up in the big smoke during the work week, but have left the bike at home until I feel like braving Auckland traffic.

Bike is currently on hold so I'm counting down the next four weeks until it's live again...

Any one in the Waikato still looking at this thread?

It seems the old guard self destructed, ran off, or chucked it in

Is there any interest in meeting up - maybe once a month?
Going for ride some time?

Keen - as per a few posts up, I'm limited to Friday, Saturday and Sunday for rides as I work in the big smoke. I'm busy at least 2 Saturdays out of every 4 weekends.

I'm keen.
Preference is day time, week day but will do weekends if possible.
I'm scared of the darkness, rain & rides longer than 300km per day.

I'm heading to Waitomo on Saturday for lunch with a friend (from Tamahere) - if anyone wants to join me for the ride there and/or back, send me a PM. Departing about 11.30 to allow plenty of time to get lost on my way and make 1pm lunch at Huhu. Likely heading back around 3 or 330.

Planned power cut at home this Monday (I do computer work at home), so options are :

1. get my generator out and carry on working

2. replace the leaking radiator in my tractor

3. go for a six hour bike ride (Whangarei & back, perhaps Coromandel Loop)

Suggestions from the audience ?

3+ On the way home, stop off at the shops for some radiator leak-stopper gunk and set aside some Photoshop time to prepare one of these for Tuesday morning:

Save generator fuel for a real emergency.
Tractor radiator can be filled up for next time you want to use it.
You can never catch up on missed opportunities where riding is involved.
Go for the ride and fill your pleasure tank. Tell us about the ride when you get back.

Down Otorohanga way in the boondocks ice/grit signs, random small and large patches of what should be called pea gravel. Keep a sharp eye out esp for small patches on corners.

Tar bleed south of Ngaruawhia. You can see it peeling off tyres in front of you.

Bike did a random slalom on a very straight bit of heavy tar bleed, was unexpected as I was just cruising. Entertaining to say the least. Grabbing the gas lead to more excitement. Brought smiles to the car driver behind.

Ended up at The World Famous Viands bakery.
Sitting outside eating. There was a accident on the road I had just travelled. 3 cars WTF that's a nice bit of road.
One of the other punters was a volunteer fire fighter. Talked about a Harley being taken out in Hamilton on Saturday by a car.

It was a beaut day for a ride and a feed awesome :headbang::headbang:

Heading out to Kawhia a few weeks ago it was a super hot day, tar was bleeding and melting like crazy. Found out rather quickly how dangerous that is, front tyre lost grip/slipped on the melted tar mid-corner.

Took it easier after that, trying to dodge all the shiny bits of tar.

Have a look at post #7973 on the previous page.

I have done some rides with LOR a while ago, and been along to some of the mcrides events, usually Wednesday after work. Nothing happening ATM due to the weather/lack of daylight.

My bike in the garage on hold over the winter while I sort some new paint for it.

still lurking around the Waikato haven't paid much attention to this forum of late been doing my own thing, I tend to organise my rides based on weather even over winter but normally summer on I get out more so I may post something up from time to time if you can handle 400km+ rides & only stopping for fuel & a quick drink not into stopping for hour long feeds I would rather be riding ;);) if your interested in long days in the saddle check out Distance riders on FB 1KC kicks of from Wgtn & Hamilton in November for 1000km day ride :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
