I was getting worried for the mental gixxa's safety there for a second :stupid: then realised twas just a bit of backyard maintenance. Gotta luv that axle stand - a.k.a. tree stump!

I am in, but it is dependent on Saturdays unpacking, also the amount of sleep I will get on Sat night, and if I have adjusted my chain by then.

Another 1000km and I have not adjusted my chain!!! and its a bit more lose then I want it to be. I think a longer chain is the resualt of last Sundays short fangings.

Oh it also needs a clean, heaven forbid I take it out on a Sunday ride without a wash first.

Yeah I found it in a paddock so according to my theory it counts as a paddock stand. :done: We've been having some mint days down here, hardly ever icy in the mornings anymore. Cant wait to get the gixxer all back together and go for some nice gently putts through the spring countryside :jerry:

From Q & A section in the States :

Can I use Dyna Beads for motorcycle road racing?

No. The inner liner compound of motorcycle road racing tires is too soft to allow Dyna Beads to perform properly. (this does not apply to off-road motorcycle racing)

I reckon our roads would be safer if we took all the road signs down (including road names)
No one would get distracted reading them
Everyone would feel a bit lost and be paying far more attention to the road ahead
You would have to approach every intersection with caution to see if you had the right of way
there may be less accidents - and I bet there'd be more fights to watch

Definately we can claim gas, tires (YAY!), parking and usage of our houses as a ligament expense of doing work. (while parking on the footpath)

We could go on long trips for days on end to "make sure everyone's doing their part to look after the roads"

I like the sound of that!

As the Minister of Transport for KB I would kick all those huge road buggering trucks off the road - any load over 5 tons would have to have a permit to be on the road - to get the permit they would have to prove that the load couldn't go by rail or ship first, or be broken down to seperate 5 ton loads.
they stuff up our road surfaces, corrugate up hill corners, create congestion of stupid plonkers who are too scared to over take, then they pull out and try to over take each other and use up all the double lanes.

then we could tell the Police to stop pulling people over for stupid infringements and target people who drive too slowly and don't pull over to the left, fine people who buy really cool cars and then drive like Grandad Walton, and we could get rid of the noise restriction on exhausts (just for Ian blat blat)

A bit different now days, and I would think walking over there would be a piece of piss.
But to ride your bike over it? You may be good enough to do it, but I can foresee a couple of outcomes
If you make it, it will still get general attention by the public, Police will be there by the time you get to the other end, if not they'll track you down, and the stunt has been so talked about that every one knows it will be you - it wont take them long to find you. Some people will take pleasure in dropping you in it.

or you come off (lest likely outcome), you stand a very high chance of you or your bike landing on someone and injuring them - then what
It's not like you'll be able to stop the traffic while you do your stunt

But hey - what do I know, terminal did it on BMX (I find that hard to believe actually) so it must be cool!!!

Once again the laxed out group are looking at this weekend in a laxed out manner. Trina and I may go for a pootle Sunday but as I have a brand new front tyre if any rain looks possible I will take the learned advice from the guys at Boyds and not ride. Possible that we will leave the Hotel about 11.00ish and head over to Te Aroha for coffee and some lunch and back via Matamata (it probably will rain then!!)

I may be wrong Mr Flux but the Honda rides are usually a bit of a speedfest with some very very good riders so it may or may not be the thing you are looking for???? Correct me if I am wrong Smoky or Warr!!

Where was everyone yesterday - 4 riders plus 2 x mormons went for a ride. 250 kms in total including Te Aroha, Matamata, Okoroire (some other Ham riders there along with about 30 other bikes) and then back up left hand side of Karapiro. Pretty OK conditions apart from a bit wet Te Aroha - Matamata
(via the road with the waterfall on it)

Lost the Mormons near Tahuna somewhere???

my bad...was waiting for a mate to join me but his bike turned out to be a pit bike and I decided it wasn't worth trying to catch up...will try get more organised next sunday...well done to carver for the stunt...thats insane!!

be careful around Hunua/Kawakawa bay areas as the roads where hit fairly hard earlier this year from the weather, they were closed off & isolated for sometime & if they are open the surface may need to be treated with some respect particularly from Clevedon through to Hunua, unless someone has recently gone through there

Mr Fox, completely off topic, but what mods did you do to your front forks to improve them? Koz mentioned you had done something not too pricey.

I have been toying with sending them down to CKT to get worked over.. but that is 900ish.

I did Race Tech emulators and springs. I got them installed by Boyds under the direction of RT himself. Overall it did cost about $900.....

The emulators are cheap enough - the springs are expensive and the labour is too...hence the price. Took me months to clear the dreadit card...

Boyds did my Ohlins on the RR of the BB ( looking at doing Fr over summer :niceone:), they have done many CKT jobs so should be relatively simple, even charged everything through Boyds so only had to pay them ( they where charged directly by CKT alot less hassle ) Maybe Talk to Dave at Boyds in the workshop he'll sort it for you
