You say a lot that is proven to be incorrect
Like how you miss the owner of said boat was maximising their returns by overloading it.
Or how the boat people attempt to illegally migrate were to escape from economic hardship because legal means are reserved for the more wealthy....

I don't care about Ted Cruze, he is just grandstanding as you say, as I feel most politicians do. Caster is an outlier, not really representative of the argument at hand in my opinion.

How is this even a debate?

Where would you like to begin?

There's two schools of thought to blame - one is Gender ideology (from Marxism) and the other is Radical Feminism (also...).

From the Rad Fem side the argument goes something like this: If there are biological differences between Men and Women, then that can be used as justification for different treatment. Therefore, if we want our utopian equitable vision, there must be no differences between the sexes. Then you bend reality to fit your ideal.

That's why we have the chant 'Trans Women are Women'.

From Gender ideology, you get the abstraction of Gender from Sex (which you can make an argument for) and then once you've abstracted it, you get to ignore all the biological factors that inform gender.

I'm opposed to Gender ideology being taught to kids - however, when it comes to adults - seeing Women being most affected by the ideology that they championed and helped create is proof that Karma has one hell of a sense of humour.

Seeing those same feminists who told us at length that 'They don't need no Man' - asking for men to help them because of biological men invading their spaces - it is glorious to be on the sidelines.

The reaction of some people surprised me initially. There had recently been a ship with 500 migrants go down in the Mediterranean though, the rescue effort(?) was in marked contrast to the effort in the Atlantic.

I wish you hadn't posted TDL's reply. Ive been managing to avoid them.

The rednecks complaining about there being a Gay Pride Month and only one day for veterans live in the USA - not in NZ. (Although it is evident that NZ has its own idiot element ready to adopt America's latest silliness.) One knuckle dragger came up with a bumper sticker slogan after a couple of Bud Lights and it caught on. Most of those people don't read anything longer than a bumper sticker anyway.

The facts are that in the USA they have Memorial Day to remember the fallen. They also have Veterans Day which acknowledges those who served, and they have Military Appreciation Month.

So to say that gays get a month and veterans only get one day is clearly nonsense..

So what happens to the places when landlords pull out of the market? Some will sell to people who were previously renting, maybe there are a (very) few who can afford to keep them empty, but most will have a mortgage on the place that has to be serviced.

Not well thunk through IMHO. Virtue signalling to the people who like glueing themselves to roads.

Why would a landlord spend money on improving a property, which is the greens aim, if it takes many years to recoup the costs?

Even if little landlords sell up, more properties on the market doesn't necessarily mean more private ownership, it's too hard to get a mortgage.
More likely property companies will step in, increase their portfolios and do the bare minimum to squeak by the requirements.

Agreed, but they still remain as rentals (even if almost unaffordable). Landlords small or large do not remain in business by keeping properties empty.

This was to my mind an interesting little storm in a tea cup. Nigel Farage, a noted bullshit artist, produced this clip when his bank asked him to take his business elsewhere.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0F3OVfrQRA

Fans of Mr Farage were outraged. "If they can do this to him who will be next?" Etc etc. To their shame Tory MPs entered the fray. Farage is a proven liar and they should have known it would be unwise to rush to his defence on the basis of something he said.

Initially there were thoughts, that because the bank would not comment, he may have had some transactions that had triggered anti-money laundering actions by the bank. If suspicious activity is detected the banks are forbidden to disclose any information which could tip off guilty parties.

Thankfully the BBC has provided the answer. The bank in question is Coutts. This is a private bank for the very wealthy. They are open about their requirements, they are listed on the bank's web site. To have an account at Coutts you have to have a million pounds invested or on loan, or have three million pounds in savings with the bank. Farage evidently did not comply.

Farage claims the bank had not bothered about this during the previous ten years, which suggests he has failed to meet the criteria for at least ten years. Farage is also very upset at the BBC revealing his personal information.

There ar a number of entertaining YouTube clips from interested parties. Some from Farage supporters and some from sane people.

Awhile ago I posted some Green Party madness in here thinking they didn’t do dumb shit often enough (well not new dumb shit) to warrant their own thread…
However they are going for gold now…. Buckle up this one’s a doozy.

The greens want to undo the historic 2008 treaty claims deadline you know where national paid out billions for a “ final “ settlement so we could move forward as a nation.
They also want private land to be subject to claims with the crown/Maori getting first rights when it comes up for sale… what could possibly go wrong here..,.

I guess with labour and national selling out and going green stealing g their thunder they need to steal votes from the Maori party.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out as it’s likely many green voters could be wealthy pakeha living in remote scenic coastal areas that are prob former Maori lane areas. You’ve just spent mega bucks on your off grid solar hideawsy now it’s up for grabs

I believe that comment is in reference to the current Republican obsession with matters transgender. This has puzzled me, they are treating it as a major problem, but how many trans people can there be? In my entire life I've seen two in this town. OK, I'd guess there are more in Karangahape Road or in downtown Wellington. To listen to the Republicans though you could get the impression that their country is over run with them.

Ah good point, I had missed that reference, I figured that it was regarding attacks on Biden.

I attended a private christian school, solely for its academic rating at the time, nothing to do with religion. Two of the more prominent heads of that school, both of whom would regularly lecture us on moral standards were found to be living in glass houses, one having an affair with an international teacher he had worked hard to bring to New Zealand 'for the betterment of the school', the second found himself in jail for child molestation...

You’re likely 100% correct in that assessment Pritch.

Sadly this is more of an expectation than an outrage.
My personal involvements with catholic priests was limited to one, on one day, in less than 5 minutes. He didn't know me but immediately started feeling me up. I was 7 and had no idea what was going on and it wasn't even until years later that I figured out what had happened. And since then, given the propensity for priests to be paedos and the church to enable them I have ZERO regard for priests, their rotten churches and the whole farcical catholic religion in general.
If you are a member of the catholic club, sorry for offending you but seriously, get a better religion.

Long story short, catholic priests I have met, 100% paedos.

I care not of UK politics but I see now that Coutts have apologised to Farage and that he did have sufficient funds to keep his account open.

I saw the apology and wondered if they were just trying to make the problem go away. If they hoped Farage would quietly disappear they stuffed up. This could drag on, Farage is hardly ever out of the news. He's one of these people who endlessly claims on TV that he is being silenced.

At the end of the day as they are a private institute they can decide who they want to have as a client and who they don't, but it appears the way this was handled they've ended up looking a bit silly. Which if what you say about Farage is true he won't let them forget in a hurry.

He appears to have no sense of irony.

The Government are considering law changes but with typical acumen the proposed changes will make it easier for criminals and money launderers. Chunks of London real estate are owned by Russian oligarchs because of Britain's slack adherence to international requirements.

From the Guardian today,
"It follows the recent furore over Coutts’s rationale for closing Farage’s accounts, the details of which emerged after he obtained and released internal documents last week. Those documents showed Farage had been “below commercial criteria for some time”, since customers are required to hold £3m in savings or borrow or invest £1m, and that the bank believed his alleged “xenophobic, chauvinistic and racist views” did not align with its values."

The word "alleged" seems superfluous in that instance.

They are also required to monitor politically exposed persons for laundering etc this comes at a cost

[As of June 2017, the UK's PEP definition is identical to the 2012 FATF definition, i.e. including reference to domestic PEPs; it is found in the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 Section 35A PEP is considered to be any individual who fits any of the criteria listed below:

A foreign person who has held any time in the preceding year a prominent public function outside the United Kingdom, in a state or international institution
Members of courts of auditors or of the boards of central banks
Ambassadors, chargés d'affaires and high-ranking officers in the armed forces
Members of the administrative, management or supervisory bodies of state-owned enterprises
Heads of state, heads of government, ministers and deputy or assistant ministers
Members of parliaments
Members of supreme courts, constitutional courts or of other high-level judicial bodies
The definition explicitly excludes middle-ranking or more junior officials.

PEP status also extends to relatives and close associates. Relatives and close associates include a spouse, a partner, children and their spouses or partners and parents. While other family members may not qualify under this definition, it may be appropriate to consider that other family members can also be used as a front for corrupt activities. Therefore, it may be appropriate to apply the definition to other extended family members that may have increased risk factors present and apply the requirements of the regulation (e.g. a PEP with material negative information may use their brother as a front for processing their proceeds of corruption). Close associates include any individual who is known to have joint beneficial ownership of a legal entity or legal arrangement, or any other close business relations. It also includes any individual who has sole beneficial ownership of a legal entity or legal arrangement which is known to have been set up for the benefit of a person referred to in regulation.

The Financial Conduct Authority and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group both publish comprehensive guidance on both PEPs and other know your customer (KYC) related matters to assist firms in complying with their legal obligations.

The 4th EU AML Directive is expected to update the definition to include domestic PEPs, and limit relatives-status to spouse and partner only, and no longer the children and parents of PEPs.

Coutts reiterated that account closures involved a number of factors "including commercial viability, reputational considerations, and legal and regulatory requirements." Coutts said it could not comment on the detail of the case due to client confidentiality.

So Farange politicises his bank account from a private exclusive bank being wound up, Then complains when it is reported its because of his his politics and lack of funds for the accounts, Then gets apologies from the BBC reporting what they were told and brings down the CEO of the bank for releasing the information he was politicising.
Hard to believe with all his good press, links to Russia, racism, xenophobia the potential laundering of bribes and other costs where they are obliged to closely monitor his accounts.
Why they or other banks might want to not be involved with him. Its a real puzzler:scratch:

They are now dismayed to learn that they and their families will no longer get free passes to Disney World. Guess you could say they failed a real world intelligence test.

In response to the Governor's moves against the state's biggest employer Disney cancelled moving their headquarters from California to Florida. Billions gone from Florida's economy. Disney have also launched a legal action against the Governor. His response is to say he has 'moved on' and they should drop the action. One of the moves he made against them was to remove the special tax arrangement Disney had, so dropping their legal action is unlikely.

DeSantis has other things to worry about though. Florida now has Malaria, Dengue fever, and leprosy, in the community. The public health positions in the state remain unfilled.

When Trump was President the hysteria from the left that this normal yearly event was his fault but it’s no different to our parliament closing near Xmas time etc except the process is a bit different money wise.

This is a normal process that intelligent human beings should have marked on their calandra and be prepared for.

The Republicans are in charge of Congress and Congress controls the purse strings. Government shut downs are not supposed to be normal.

I don't know if it's true, but I read recently that the Democrats have never initiated a government shut down. It seems to be entirely a Republican thing. Certainly every one that I recall has been, going back to the Tea Party members who basically got themselves elected to do exactly that. Some are still there, now they and those of like mind, call themselves the Freedom Caucus.

Federal shutdowns only started being a thing in the 80's The AG issued opinions that said it was illegal for the government to spend money without congressional approval. Long shutdowns have been stimulated by republicans. The longest federal shutdown was 34 days, december 2018 - january 2019, occurred when republicans had the congress and the presidency (trump). Even when they had two out of three branches they still couldn't agree on how to get things done.

So not really a "normal process", more like a political point scoring exercise that even Mitch McConnell says "They never have produced a policy change and they've always been a loser for Republicans politically."

When Trump was in charge they had a 35 day shutdown the republicans controlled both the senate and Congress.

Russia annexes Crimea then invades the rest of Ukraine because, ostensibly, vague historical reasons, but really to shore up a faltering political system, so Ukraine fights back - world says "Russia bad, lets all help the poor Ukrainians"
Israel annexes the west bank and attacks Gaza, because, ostensibly, vague religious reasons, but really to shore up a faltering political system, so Hamas fights back - world says "Hamas evil terrorists, more aid to Israel is required"

When the former college football coach arrived in DC to take his Senate seat he was asked by a journalist what the three branches of government were. He didn't know

Senator Tuberville is currently holding up over 300 senior military promotions because he believes the military should not be providing abortions. He started a charity much like ol trumps

Tommy Tuberville Foundation
Through its first five years, the foundation raised $289,599 but spent just $51,658 on charitable causes, tax records showed.n 2020, The New York Times reported that Tuberville campaign and foundation officials "produced internal records for 2018 that showed nearly $20,000 was raised for a temporary project to provide a retreat for veterans. But the records raised bookkeeping questions, since they showed more than $61,000 of 2018 revenue, roughly twice what the charity reported to the I.R.S. that year".

In 2021, the Washington Post reported, the foundation "reported it had $74,101 in revenue and spent just 12 percent of that, or $9,000, while $32,000 went to administrative costs (including nearly $12,400 to pay off a truck the charity purchased in 2018 for $27,369)". By the end of 2021, the foundation's website had gone defunct.

In an Alabama Daily News interview after the election, Tuberville said that the European theater of World War II was fought "to free Europe of socialism" and erroneously that the three branches of the U.S. federal government were "the House, the Senate, and the executive." He also said that he was looking forward to raising money from his Senate office, a violation of federal law.

Our media has a lot to answer for. They seize on a lot of fringe views for east clickbait news articles pouring more gas on the fire.

There is one positive aspect though, hearing such views we disagree with is a sign of a healthy free democratic society. There’s several large nations where no other views are tolerated and it quite clearly doesn’t work out well for those that live there.

https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/133391888/te-pti-mori-plans-protests-across-the-north-island-as-parliament-restarts

You can’t on one hand hold sacred an agreement reached with the crown/colonialists then on the other hand say “no allegiance to the genocidal legacy of the British Empire.

“There is no honour in the Crown. It is tainted with the blood of indigenous nations, and its throne sits at the apex of global white supremacy.”

I suspect they will have no problem
swearing allegiance next time their in a coalition with labour and need to go to the governor general for approval to form a govt.
You’re either a functioning participant in democracy or not. You can’t be half in half out and throwing a tantrum when there’s ideas you don’t like. The original title of the protest says it all really. Stuff must be desperate to restore journalistic credibility by reporting that instead of quietly deleting that bit.
Someone should remind them that even us pakeha are still legal subjects of the British commonwealth and abide by their laws and decrees(governor general has to approve all our laws) even if we disagree with royals behaviour or policies.
And anyone who’s been to Britain will tell you it has to be one the most racially and culturally diverse countries in western world. To say it’s a centre of white supremacy is joke of week.

As far as I can tell they are just upset that National won and the free ride with labour is gone.

I think a lot of Maori will be embarrassed by this commotion about nothing

In an effort to buy votes Jacinda waved the treaty wand and sprinkled fairy dust everywhere without taking time to consult the country about what it all mean. Govt depts and media instructed to take into account the treaty etc. well I’m sure they were already meeting their relevant obligations before that. Anyway it’s created a climate of confusion about just what influence the treaty should have.

All David asking for at the moment is for the country to sit down and study what does the treaty say and what does it mean for all. Because you have an English version and a Maori version and there are discrepancies in the translation/understanding of what it says. This kinda makes sense as if you’ve ever read older literature you’ll find even in English 100 years ago people spoke and write quite differently.

The activists out there are making out like it’s going to be ripped up but that will never happen. It’s about gaining an accurate understanding of what the contract (treaty) intended for both people’s.

Winston won’t let them sell the water.

2/ That assumes Winston will still be there

Some of our more inbred local councils apparently. IIRC Ashburton sell water to China at a very fvourable rate. Favourable for China.
The Canterbury plains used to have some of the highest quality water in the country, but somebody thought it was a good idea to put dairy farms on the plains.

And TIME magazine's person of the year is... Taylor Swift. The MAGA crowd are not pleased. Normally a pop star wouldn't upset them but she said publicly that people should register to vote and tens of thousands of people did. Although she had long kept her political views private, more recent comments indicate she leans left.

Ms Swift's music has never graced my turntable. I know she managed to piss Kanye West off some years ago and probably Trump more recently. Kanye West is another artist I've never heard. It's OK I'm mostly stuck in the 70s and I like it there.

A social media commentator recently received a communication questioning whether any heed should be paid to the political opinions of Taylor Swift and Pink. The communication referred to both as teeny boppers. Ms Swift is mid thirties. Ms Pink is mid/late forties. Presumably they are old enough to have opinions.

Happening all over the place. As National decided no-one "owns" water, no one can sell it. Councils are charging fees for resource consent and so on but the takers are getting the water free of charge eg "In this case, consent to bottle and export 580m litres of water would cost the company around $2000 a year, the price of a resource consent monitoring fee."

The Chinese Communist Party just wants to save the Earth, right?
Even though China is the largest single user of fossil fuels on Earth, for some reason The Energy Foundation China — an NGO dedicated to worrying about carbon emissions — spent nearly $4 million working on reducing US emissions instead of Sino ones. They also spent some undisclosed amount helping the Grantham Research Institute in London last year. So we have donors in a developing country giving generously to the US and UK because the rich first world is too poor to fund their own environmental philanthropy groups, right?

More profits and power for China
China controls the rare metals market, builds the wind turbines and solar panels, and now also the EV’s. Obviously, on a pure self-serving business level, the CCP would be crazy if they weren’t amplifying Green fantasia in the West in order to sabotage the competition. And the idea of undermining energy security and the general industrial power base of the West might also appeal to CCP leaders. And hypothetically, if it did, what would stop it happening — investigative reporting from The ABC or the BBC? As if.

It is commonly observed that people opposed to making any adjustments to mitigate the effects of climate change tend not to understand the difference between the words 'weather' and 'climate.' Thus when its snowing, in a place where it normally snows at that time of year, they will often point at the snow and ask what happened to global warming. Or they might point to a hot day in Canterbury.

Weather can be misleading, people in New York may have had cause to wonder as they can now suffer full blown blizzards. This could lead the 'weathermen' to think the weather is getting colder. What has actually happened is that climate change has caused the weather patterns that previously remained over the Arctic to break up and become mobile. Places that previously didn't normally suffer blizzards now can. That change is life threatening in places where large numbers of people are sleeping rough.

If one cares to research outside the narrow window of history that the mainstream media and “science” selectively use we find New York is no stranger to snow blizzards in fact in 1888 they suffered Americas greatest snow disaster ever to this day!!!

https://www.wunderground.com/cat6/the-blizzard-of-1888-americas-greatest-snow-disaster

New York’s Central Park has seen only 4.8 inches of snow during winter 2019-20 as of March 12. With no snow in the forecast, it is possible this winter will end up with the fourth lowest snow total at Central Park in its 152 years of recordkeeping. It’s hard to believe that this week marks the 132nd anniversary of New York’s—and America’s—worst blizzard on record.

Few storms are as iconic as the “Blizzard of ‘88”. It was the deadliest, snowiest, and most unusual winter storm in American annals. No storm of similar magnitude has occurred anywhere in the contiguous United States since. Over 400 perished, including 200 in New York City alone, many literally buried in drifts in downtown Manhattan. On March 13, 1888, the temperature in New York fell to 6°F during the storm—still the coldest temperature ever measured there so late in the season.

There is an amazing story taking place in Britain. For some thirty years this has been going on with no discernible action by the politicians responsible, and all major political parties have been involved. A recent docu drama on TV has boosted interest to the point something may actually be done, although it will be too late for many.

In the 1990s the Post Office purchased a new accounting system, Horizon, from Fujitsu. Almost immediately the system indicated financial discrepancies. The Brit Post Office has it's own prosecution service dating back to the days of the Royal Mail. The prosecutors attacked their work with a will. Seven hundred Post Office staff were prosecuted for theft, many were jailed, others went bankrupt from legal expenses, four committed suicide. This was all the result of a glitch in the software. Independent people were telling the politicians there must be a problem but they didn't understand software and weren't interested. Most politicians are known to be disinterested in computers or software. To make it worse Fujitsu became aware of the problem but said nothing.

This is now thought to be the biggest miscarriage of justice in British judicial history but nobody is accountable. With a few notable exceptions, such as Private Eye, media organisations have shown little interest - until now when it has appeared on TV.

One woman, responsible for the Post Office for part of the time this has been going on, was given a CBE. There is a petition with over a million signatures demanding the honour be withdrawn.

There is currently a shit ton of comment in the Brit press and on YouTube and elsewhere, fill your boots.

Afterthought: When watching the various political figures discussing this be aware that most are blaming people from a different party. Labour, Conservative, and the Lib Dems, all have politicians who are culpable. Some speakers though will attribute blame to people who were not actually involved. This story is never the less a lesson to all politicians wherever they are.

That may be the case but the problem in the US is basically unbridled profiteering. There was the case of the notorious Martin Shkreli and his 5000% price increase. The maunfcturerers of insulin introduced massive price increases which lead to people rationing their insulin - fatally. The manufacturer of Epi Pens is another example, big price increases and the pens apparently only come packaged in pairs so you have to buy two.

In any society about 10% have the qualities at various levels of thugs/bullues/narcissistic traits etc. About 1% may be or have sociopathic traits that is they are capable or nasty stuff or even being serial killers etc. The border problem has progressed to 4.8million unchecked people arriving illegally every year now, that’s nearly the population of NZ. And even here we prob have several thousand people that we’d say yeah nah to if they were t actually born and raised here.
So America is being invaded by at least 48,000 people capable of causing serious harm. It is known that Hamas has a presence in Mexico and after the Middle East incident the picture of cheap labour via slack borders has changed with the prospect of terrorist sleeper cells walking into the country.

BTW you won’t see any mantraps in this video looks like a well practised art

It is? By whom? And how much electric puha had been consumed prior to this knowledge occurring.

Governor Abbott is, to use the words of one of his cronies, a sick son of a bitch.

Recently the Mexican border people notified the US Border Patrol that there was a woman with two children in trouble in the river. The Border Patrol attended the location but Abbotts National Guard would not let them access the river and the three people died.

It would pay Abbott to remember that he has control of the Texas National Guard only as long as Biden permits it. Biden can take control at any time and presidents have used this power previously.

Interestingly, there's a bill being worked on in the Senate which would take some of the President's power to use the Guard away. It's being done as a potential stopper to Trump sending the Guard to democrat controlled cities as he has threatened previously. It's actually either the second or third attempt to get something similar through.
What has gone through is a bill requiring a majority in the Senate and Congress before the US can withdraw from NATO.
There are some guardrails being put in place.

At a meeting of Colorado Republican Congressional candidates they were asked if they'd been arrested. Six held up their hands. A seventh was not at the meeting because he has current problems with law enforcement. So that's seven out of ten have arrest records - and they call themselves the party of law and order.

I can see their argument, after all no one is ever supposed to profit from an insurance payout. But it ignores being kicked off/bought out from your own bit of land(no matter what culture) and the trauma from the floods and drawn out compensation process.
Can anyone say if they did this after quakes???
Its even worse when some of the flooding is due to years of neglect in planning and maintenance of flood control works and ignorance of history.

Post Chch earthquakes, the insurance payouts were for full rebuild cost, so therefore in many cases far exceeded the value of the existing house.

The amount paid when red zoned and land sold to the govt was less the demo cost, as ownership of the structure passed to the insurance company and it was their responsibility to get rid of it.

Have the insurance people now found a way to get out of it being their problem by paying the full amount to the owners and leaving responsibility with them, in which case it's their cost not the councils?

Many people have objections to spending their insurance money on what it was intended for.

It's not the deed itself that is the problem. It's the subsequent lying about what happened and what was done to the property.

I struck an example where a relative of my wife died and in the course of sorting the estate it became apparent that another family member had ripped her off when doing quake repairs. The paperwork had vanished in the short time following the death but looking at the payout and what she'd paid for out of it, something didn't add up.

Buying a house here where the owner has taken a payout and sorted it themselves is Russian roulette played with properties.

Yeah, I have family members that moved to Chch from Wanaka into rental accom. It was all freshly painted, all white, and looked good but black mould started growing everywhere within weeks. They had signed a longish term lease and so had to break it when it turned out that the liquifaction was still hard up underneath the floorboards. The house had been through an insurance claim, but it was sold without having the full remedial works done. I know that there were and prob still are a lot of stories…

The Green Party has announced today what they will announce tommorow. Priceless.

“Chlöe Swarbrick to announce co-leadership bid

At 11am tomorrow Chlöe Swarbrick will announce her intention to run for the Green Party co-leadership.

Nominations opened yesterday to fill the role of outgoing co-leader James Shaw who resigned on Tuesday.

Any Green Party member can put themselves forward to lead the party but even if others do, Swarbrick is the obvious choice and clear front-runner.

The candidates can be any gender thanks to a change in 2022 which shifted the co-leadership model from ‘one man, one woman’ to one woman plus one leader of any gender - and one of the leaders must be Māori. ”

If a person can decide their gender by how they "feel" at the time then so can racial blend. Both Winston and Seymour can claim to be maori to some degree, and how can it be proved or disproved? Will DNA testing be required?

That doesn’t concern me at all and I doubt either plans to join the Green Party. I think it was during the Helen Clark era that the whole how much thing became taboo to even mention so you either were or were not.

We are now entering a new era of personal choice. I used to dislike Ziggy smoke a bit but I hate the sickly sweet odour of these lolly flavour vape fumes. The previous govt allowed vape to become a thing when it had chance to stop it starting, its health effects are going to be just as bad as smoking long term.

Given that we completely banned ciggie advertising along time ago it’s completely irrelevant then.

It could make entertaining reading if we compile a complete list of all politicians in-laws and who they work for. But despite six years of the Stalinda regime I don’t think even her lot managed to collect that type of data on the citizens.

A lot of the greens would have family perhaps working g for DOC, would it be corrupt for them to increase DOC wages or conditions.

Well latest article other day said it’s $10k worth so quite serious. The damning video evidence along with her and her employers public confession will seal it. By playing the mental health card as a reason they confessed the crime as they had to qualify WHY the offending occurred. You do not offer a reason why something happened if you’re claiming innocence.

Her only chance is if a procedural error occurs in the collecting or presentation of evidence in court which happens surprisingly often.

I still think the bigger scandal is a green who claims to represent conservation of resources and equality for the poor is even setting foot in a high end fashion store selling items that are likely worn once or twice then forgotten about. It could be argued that women’s fashion industry is perhaps one of the biggest and most wasteful users of resources.

One for the history books. The Republicans held a vote to impeach Secretary Mayorkas(?), Secretary of Homeland Security. They said he hasn't been doing his job as too many illegals were crossing the border. Some irony is apparent as this current congress has done very little work themselves. I did read that in the history of the US only one congress has done less. Whatever, they haven't done much.

They didn't do much in this instance either. Four Republicans voted with the Democrats and the motion was lost.

How embarrassing.

There’s another new one too where cop empties mag through windscreen after woman runs him over. Also a spray and pray job as after she escapes and gets in a traffic collision up road she does not appear to be bleeding.
Donut Operator (ex cop) did a good breakdown too about the now common practice of shooting from inside the car at crims through one windscreen. Apparently it’s quite unhealthy due to micro glass shards getting in lungs and eyes but I guess that’s a little bit better than being dead.
I’m gonna have to watch the acorn job though at first I skipped as just thought it was another overkill job
