We'd just got it sorted and about to get on our way when the arrogant bastard (cop) pulled up behind, lights on etc. YT went to talk to him, but he was in boots'n all...

Ok! Got to thinking about this guys attitude on the way home..(you can think about all sorts of random shite when you are pillion) and decided to do something about it. He was quite over the top and unnecessarily so IMHO, and not once did he offer any assistance.
So I rang the local police station, asked to be put through to traffic and got the Senior Seargeant. I apologised for not having got the plod's number but he knew exactly who I was talking about. I said that his attitude sucked etc and that he was giving decent cops a bad name (you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar). I was asked to put my complaint in writing and email it forthwith to the S S. He assures me that the cop in question will be "talked to" about his lack of public relations skills.
It is apparently not the first time someone has complained about this jerk.
I felt as though the guy I spoke to on the phone was genuine.
Will let you all know what happens.

Good on you girl...shame that one :tugger:s attitude tends to reflect on the whole force...I'm sure there's enough :Police: who regularly read these posts to know just who your referring to.....so much for the publics co-operation in keeping the roads safe:whistle:. cant wait to see what happens:spanking::corn:

You go Janet!

Meant to say, enjoyed the ride to Tarawera.

The ride home was neat especially, a good brisk pace, not too slow, good fast constant speed.
Bacon was behind us so all was good.

Aye G.... we will be in OZ and will miss the race meeting but.... And it may or may not work out..... but our old van broke a cam belt last weekend and is in the shop. If it was going by the weekend you could put your bike in the van and drive it up with all your gear. Think about it and it depends if the van is going. Will keep you informed

Hey Guys, Was wondering if anyone had a spare jacket for my cousin to wear as he wants to come for a ride on Saturday with us as a pillon. The seat isn;t a problem thanks to Jrandom but I would prefer that he had a decent jacket to wear. He is about Paddys size I suppose. Also maybe a spare helmet? Not too sure whether my one will fit him but I will see him tomorrow night so will find out

Drive a Holden and live forever :bleh:

Q: How is a golf ball different from a Holden?
A: You can drive a golf ball 200 yards

If one or more of these is true, unfortunately, you are driving a Holden...

You look in your rear-view mirror to see two people with their hands on your tailgate.
You constantly receive sympathy cards from the LTSA.
When you are walking across the parking lot, you see a priest performing last rights on your car.
While stopped at traffic lights, other motorists offer to help push to get you started again.
You have preferred customer status at Repco Auto Parts.
You have to stop along side the road at least once a day to pick up parts that have fallen off.
You leave your keys in the ignition and a $20 bill on the dash for gas money in hopes that someone will steal your car.
When you drive though town, people stop what they are doing and just start laughing.
In place of a spare tire, you find a pair of running shoes

When you are walking across the parking lot, you see a priest performing last rights on your car.
While stopped at traffic lights, other motorists offer to help push to get you started again.
You have preferred customer status at Repco Auto Parts.
You have to stop along side the road at least once a day to pick up parts that have fallen off.
You leave your keys in the ignition and a $20 bill on the dash for gas money in hopes that someone will steal your car.
When you drive though town, people stop what they are doing and just start laughing.
In place of a spare tire, you find a pair of running shoes

You were not kidding about the wind. I have not been in wind that strong and we had it both ways from the Rimutakas. It would have been a brilliant ride but for the wind but was still a great ride and what better way to spend a Saturday. We love SH50. It is about time I moved back to the Bay. Missed you in Havelock, looked around Mary Doyle, rode through the Village but could not see a nice black Triple so went for our ride, probably catch you guys next time you's visit.

Rode the bike to work today. Very rarely get the chance to do that.
Riding thru Bridge Pa, and the golf course a woman in a SUV stopped at Stock Rd watching me.
She decided that she would wait till I got close then pull out slowly.
Could'nt believe it!
It was almost deliberate.

Fortunately I was only going 100kph and had a gut feeling about her from when I saw her.
Had time to brake, lean the bike over into her lane and take a swing with my fist near her window.
Sure I was never going to hit her window but I was so fucked off.
I just so felt like turning around and stopping her, but why?
I'd just get busted for doing something unlawfull and would cause me a hassle.

I know we all have these incidents, but this was so deliberate, I could'nt believe it. She looked straight at me and was so when she pulled out in front.:2guns:

Like the plane ride home today. She had me Tart. And the boys out numbered da girl five to one. She was free to go. But that would have left Dave and I on our own and that could have been of concern....:niceone:......

You will note the hair is gone chicky. Look at the 100 ton bulldozer picture. Number 3 all over. Done to beat the heat in OZ. yea right. Nine degrees at the track.

So a plan was hatched to go to the GP 6 months ago by TRXTER. He asked if we wanted to come along. Normally I would say thanks but no thanks. But not this time. So they had a house booked on Phillip Island. 3 K from the track. I booked the stand tickets on the Net. Looked at the comments from others that have gone to the track and noted Siberia was the most popular stand. So got seats in the second row from the front in there.
Flew out on the Thursday night and arrived in Melbourne to pick up a rental car. I have never been in a plane till this trip. Trip from Napier to Auckland was hard going for me. Trip from Auckland to Melbourne was not too bad. Drive from Melbourne airport to Phillip Island was a mission cos we didn't know how to get there. The Navman was great but we didn't know how to use it cos it only had OZ maps and we couldn't try it before we left. We headed out of the airport in poring rain and in the dark and all went well till we got pushed off the motorway and ended up in the CBD. Took forty five minutes to get back on track. We all but started back at the airport. Note to others. When you leave the air port, simply, do not turn off anywhere till you get to the turn off for Phillip Island. Some hour and a half in to the trip. Simple. The Navman wanted to take us another way so we turned it off and followed our map. I could go on for ever about that but another day.

Stayed in a house in a place called Sunset strip. Really nice place. You have seen the spider picture? It was in the house with us. As we had a rental I drove down to the track each day with the gear. My mate Dave and my cousin Kath came along and they transported other to the track. We had up to 9 staying in the house with up to 19 for dinner at night. A great time was had by all. Spent all day at the track all 3 days and had a ball.

The weather was very cold on the Friday and Saturday. Very very cold. Woolly hats and thick jackets with Polly prop and layers of cloths. The wind was bitter. I heard 9 deg at times. Real winter stuff. The sun was out between showers and it burnt the skin and the ice cold wind finished it off. Very red and burnt each night. The Sunday, race day, was a bit warmer but still very cold and the stand we were in was facing in to the wind. Again bad for the skin on the face but with jackets and every thing else on we survived.

The racing was out of this world. The first two days are taken up with setup time and qualifying laps etc. Lots of action all day and you really get to see the bikes working out as different setups are used and tyre choices. A feast of action. Some stunt bikes and other track events to fill the gaps. Race day is the same till lunch. Then the real racing starts. Three main events. 125-250-800. All three races were great but the 125s were the hardest fort. The sound of the big bikes makes your blood run hot. They are special and even non petrol heads can't escape the buzz. The track racing is the feature of the event and it really makes your heart sing for three days.

As well as the racing there are stands with other stuff. All brands of bikes and bike stuff are on display and for sale. I have posted some pic's of that. Good food and toilets around the track. Police and wardens everywhere so security is good and all the people are friendly. No agro from anyone at any time. It was truly a great crowd.

On Monday morning I dropped two lots of people up to the town ( cows ) so they could catch the bus back to Melbourne to fly home. We all got up early each day. Must have been the Jet lag thing. Most morning people were up around 5 ish and breaky was over by 7. A great thing cos that let us go to the track early. Anyway on the Monday Mary and I went to Cows with Kath and Dave and got more GP branded gear. Sold cheaper as the event was over. Then back to Melbourne and spent time looking at Dave's toys. One of them is the Bulldozer in the picture. I didn't get a drive as they were doing repair work on it. Then off to the city for a beer. Very nice city it is to. Went up a tower like the Sky Tower in Auckland. Really neat at night as you look out over the city and see all the lights. We worked out what happened the first night and where we went wrong. Bloody lucky we got out of the city and back on track when we saw what we did and where we went. Then Kath and Dave headed for home and Mary and I went on the tram restaurant. Now that is great. You eat they drive all around da city. From there to the F1 motel. Now that's somethin else. For $89.00 you get a bed a dunny and a shower. All in one of the smallest rooms you can imagine. But we only had 4 hours and we needed to be up for the plane. So what the hell. Time to sleep.

Up at 4 am to pack and get ready for the trip. Walk over to the airport. 5 minutes at the most. Check in and in to Duty free. Shop and spend the last of the OZ money. Great stuff. On the plane and outa here. I was over flying by now. Very fast and smooth trip to Wellington. But I noted the sea was very ruff and when we made an approach to the airport the plane hit some very heavy turbulence and the pilot hit the gas and pulled the plane up. That was a ruff ride I tell ya. Then we went around to try again. This time it was even worse and he hit the gas again. Two failed attempt and we were off to Auckland. Good landing and in to customs. All good and down to see what to do about getting home. Qantas had made a booking for us on air NZ and we headed for Napier. A great flight but a bit ruff as we came in to land. Gathered up the bags and headed for home.

What a trip. What an experience. Would I do it again? You bet. But not for a while. If you are thinking about a trip like this plan every bit of it and make sure you have time to get from one flight to the next. Have road maps and be rested before you start. Thanks to all the people who made this trip so bloody good. Big thanks to Nat for starting the ball rolling. And Kath and Dave for doing so much to make things happen. With out your help it could have had some shitty patches but with local help it was great. And so it was. The 07 GP was the the one we went to.

Only saw 3 bikes on the road plus a few bacon too.

One is glad that one has learned that some things just should not be moderated!

Can you take a BBQ so the HB team can have bangers and patties and a bit of salad. We could get sticky to look after it.

How much tread on the gixxer? How much tread do you need?

Thats not a bad idea... but I don't have a BBQ and Chicky is in Wellington picking up all the prizes from the darts thingy. And A bike and BBQ might not fit in the van. But if G could take one and everyone put a bit of food in we could get Moooo to cook at lunch time. What you all recon?

Are you taking Frostys bike up G?

OK Guys and girls, who is all going to the track day, I no that some of us are going up so are we going to park up together or are we going to be all over the show. I.m leaving about 6am and should be there about 8 I dont reckon there will be a lot of people there then so should be a lot of parking space, last time I got up there early I got to park on Pit lane, are there any sugestions from you Guys.:argue:

Ok here is the thing. Speights_Bud is going up on Friday. TT track day and he is a marshal. There is a Kiwitrackday on Saturday as I understand it. Kiwibiker are on the track on Sunday. We are taking the van and a trailer. We Mooo, Martin and I are bike recovery and Speights_bud is riding my Gixxer. He is putting the track plastics on first.

So we can take gear and drop it back here on Sunday night. We will be parked in the pits or the middle of the track but we will be on call all day. I hope to pick a spot near the dummy grid and set up some gear there for the day. but the van has to be free to move to the track at anytime. We could set a spot to look after the H/Bay gear, bikes etc. We hope to leave here at 7 ish and arrive at 8.30ish. I am scrutineering and remember to make sure your tyres

Edit. As posted by Frosty.....TYRES MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 2.0MM OF TREAD ROUND THE CENTERLINE
.-- (slicks to have visible wear dots/dimples)

Bar ends solid or plugged and levers with balls on them. please make sure they are good cos they are the main reason for not passing bikes. Please clean fork seals if they are leaking. What we can't see we can't fail you on. Chains and loose foot pegs are the other.

So see you all at the track.

Not sure if I'll be up on Saturday evening or Sunday. If I went up Saturday evening, I'd have to find a place to crash, but it'd save getting up so early on Sunday.
