Just got home from Taranaki. Dropped the 2 Triumphs off to Triple Fourensics, the guy who only works on Hinckley Triumphs. Interesting fellow, and very knowledgable. Told me lots of things that go wrong with them......dunno if I wanted to know that!
Sun is shining there:sunny:

Speed Triple is getting a bit of suspension work and a minor Tuneboy ECU setup, while the Daytona is also getting suspension work, plus a major Tuneboy setup with custom performance mapping to eliminate the dead spot under 4000 and more power thru the rev range plus top end. Last one he did like it showed 303kph thru a speed trap he said.......but hey, we all know how accurate our speedos are eh.....<_<, and of course its illegal to go over 100!!

Interesting to check the Tuneboy thingy out, seems far more extensive and better than a Power Commander. Its loaded into your ECU, so theres no need to fit a PC to the bike. Plus you get the disc to load at home on your lappy so you alter fuel/ignition/flow/injector pulses/sensor info, etc, plus reset fault codes, check diagnostics etc etc.
Way more extensive stuff than a PC.
But of course its useless unless you have an idea what you're doing.
Looks ok to me, so no probs in future. (famous last words)

Anyway, enough rambling, think the bill will be extensive too, but who cares, only live once, fuckit, I'm off to the Gold Coast tommorrow at 7.........catch ya round in about 3 weeks for a ride.:done:Nice write up Tony,
we never had to do that with our old Triumphs it was all hands on Polishing and porting, stiffer valve springs and High kick pistons and the rest of it. Tuneings got to complicated now if your compute stuffs ya got to push it.
Get off to the sun ya lucky dude.:sunny:

All this talk of going faster and making the bike lighter has me a bit perplexed. I think I have been going in the wrong direction.
I am officially an old fart now. But I like it like that. This should be good for the South Island in January.

Sorry not me Gary. I will be flat out trying to get the place ready so I can go away for two weeks in Jan. More work to get things sorted to go away than staying home.

I will post details up late next week.
It was going to be another Blokes ride but a lot of the fellas want to take their wifes and Partners so Sheilas are most welcome. Warick tells me it's one of the best in the Southern Hemasphere and he would no:woohoo:

Hay guys, keep an eye out when riding, i had a chat ($$) with A cop on the napier-taupo today, the thing is he did a U-turn just round a blind corner. The real scary thing is he did the turn across the main lane, a passing lane, double yellow line and the lane i was in (was coming down the hill) all this for just 113.

So stay safe out there guys.

Like all who got out today, Taihape and back was primo! Nothing wrong with the road ( tad muddy in parts) seen worse on road works around town. This side is a disgrace compaired with what the road is like on the other side.More tarseal has been laid, from Taihape 52km before first gravel and thats even good for 60/70 k speeds. Great enjoyable day with excellant company.

I can ride the pants off ya anyway ha ha ha ha

I bet you can’t ride my pants off. As I am married and have been for 26 years these pants stay on.

As for riding faster than me…. Yes you would go faster for longer and I would be left well behind. However that is no challenge as most people can out ride me. When you get to my age you too will realise that funerals for friends are far too common. And as we have just had Scotts memorial it brings it to mind that we can all come unstuck. I am pleased to see you put the rides on and run good events. Well done.

While we are having a bitch at each other, I , like George, am not so keen on your Avatar, but it is a free country and you are free to choose. I am not sure it is what you need to do to get recognition. Your riding ability is a class above most so I thought you might have gained that recognition with out the Avatar.

If I offended by the name I apologise. Was meant to be a little banter. However as I don’t know you or One fast TL1000, I will leave the banter out..

Happy riding and thanks for putting good rides on.

Update on the Trip to Southwoods. We will meet at the BP Stortford Lodge at 7.30 am this ride is for all Motorcycles. Depending on the turn out or who turns up it will be organised a little bit like the Classic runs, you ride as a group or at your own pace. There will be designated coffe' stops to re group.
There will be some cages going down with people who cant ride. We should have about 3-4 hours at the Museum, then we leave for the Levin RSA whare we will get some Food, all being prepaired for us, then ride home.
I will post up if there are any changes.

Interesting when they got back to Parc Ferme after the race and Rossi gave pip squeak a celebratory hug, can't get over how tiny Pedrosa is in comparison, he should be able to get that bike to go fast! I will post details up late next week.
It was going to be another Blokes ride but a lot of the fellas want to take their wifes and Partners so Sheilas are most welcome. Warick tells me it's one of the best in the Southern Hemasphere and he would no:woohoo:

As the make up of the group that we ride with has changed, so has the meeting point. The Mobil Service Station in Taradale Road is now the base for most of our rides and it has a good area out the back to pack a few bikes in, something that the BP Station was a bit short on.

Occasionally, and generally for the Classic Club Ride, the BP station in Clive is the meeting point but always check the posts to confirm

I fitted a Radguard to the radiator on the SV a week after I got it for that very reason. It is very exposed on the SV. $240.00 I think. The radiator on my Gixxer was looking very sad by the time I sold it. www.radguard.co.au should find them.

I probably wont make it. Im up in Gisborne at the moment for work.. was a last minute decision. I started fitting hot grips to my bike last night (yes I know I am getting soft :shifty:), and still have all of the wiring etc to complete plus need to catch up on some work at home. Hopefully we will still be having a 1pm ride so will be aiming for that ... hopefully a little more successfully than last Saturday :bash:

They grow up and leave home soon enough, Crazyhorse. Enjoy them when they're there...cos the house can sure seem empty without them.
