Like you have all said….. Have a great Christmas …. Lots of family time and some sleep followed by more food………..
Have a great ride to Wangas and enjoy the street racing. I will think of you all often as this is the first year I have opted not to go for a long time.
Then have a great new year. I think we will go in to Napier for that and enjoy the music and fireworks after………..
Hope to plan a ride for the new year.
See you all and have a ball.
Well done Chicky. Our day went well ...... see you on the return trip. Proud of our Chicky :niceone:

Have you drunk Belgium dry, already?
None left?Yeh pretty much. 2 euros for a pint of Maes is the cheapest pub in Brussels. And when your host brother takes you there with his friends and tells you to leave your money at home 'cause it's his welcoming to the home, you gunna drink a lot right? Between about 10 of us, we had at least 5 crates of 24 beers.

i was heading from coroglen back down to thames. came to the turn off for hot water beach and some P O S in his ute decided not to give way. i ended up broadsiding him, getting flung about 10m down the road over the cab of his ute. I cant remember the crash at all, only seeing the intersection and slowing down a bit just in case... then waking up in the ambulance about an hour later...
now just working out what bike i should get next lol:niceone:

Bugger mate. But as SP said it is good you are ok. Good that you slowed down. That’s bad news. Are you back in the Bay?
Had a great day at the Taupo track yesterday. Thanks to Rob and the team for making the day so much fun. We had a second in the first race. Pat has a vid to post up when he gets home. He left the track at speed at the start of the pit straight on the last lap. He was sick of following the lead bike and had a go at passing under brakes. The following maneuver was spectacular. Off in to the gravel followed by a side swipe of the tyre wall then a dirt bike sprint back out on to the track and a second placing. Scary stuff.
The second race gave us a second place as well. Stopped due to a nasty accident in lap 7. So SP took 2nd place for the day in the Street stock class. This was our anniversary of one years racing. What a great day. The racing was neck and neck all day and the Sp took the lead and lost the lead sometimes twice in a lap. Well done that man. SP is riding in the endurance race in Taupo today with Dan good luck people.
Time to get to work. Take care all. Lost my glasses. Blood hard to read the screen. I hate being old………..:2guns:

Hey Tony, been waiting to hear about the new purchases?????????
Just a couple of dirt bikes mate.
She's got a late XLR125 Honda which is nice and low and pretty stress free.
Get her back to riding again. She had a TS125 & XL185S at our last place which was all flat but we sold them when we moved here 2 yrs ago.
I had a TT350 Yammy.
I brought a DR350, love them. Mine has a big bore kit to 385, bigger carb, airbox, and a race exhaust system. It hauls.
Getting them all sorted today as we're heading up the Wairoa rd, just past Steve's place for new years eve where she's riding horses with her mates and the farm owner, and I'm gonna blast around on the beach and there.

If this was the one in the second to last race dont worry she is going to be ok, looks like there may have been some contact and she went down. I was one of the marshalls and went to help. We put her in the ambo just incase because she had a bit of a sore neck.
Glad the meet went well for you :)

Would need a step ladder to get on mate!
Modern dirt bikes are so freakin high now for us short asses.
I've lowered the rear shock on the DR and only can stand tip toe on one foot.
Can't get on it without a block of wood due to the hip thingy, but theres always banks etc around when you're on the dirt.
Did'nt know you had that George, could of been interested.

Today’s little stay at the track was the best. Dan and Pat rode the 1400, not 600 G, too the max. It was really wet and to keep it outa the kitty litter was a mission. You did well you two.
Congratulations to everyone that rode today. It was some of the best riding I have seen for a while in the worst conditions for a while. Top marks and we have some really talented riders her in NZ. :woohoo:
Yep you do look the part with the pit board Chicky. Remember how to get Patrick and Dan’s attention next time. It might take more than flapping a bit of white plastic in their faces, but I know you can do it. :pinch:
Great ride up and back. Been up that road a few times in the last week. How will I live without it tomorrow.
I think I will drop back a grade at the track day on the 17th. I have a feeling I will get depressed when Dan and Pat passing me for the third time in the same session. :bash:
Hell life is good. Bikes are great and the people that hang around with them are even better. Just had to share that after such a great few days. :done:

Hey Guys BIG Thanks to everyone who helped out this weekend and supported us out there at the track, it was an awesome weekend alright :done:
The rider who finished 1st on the day of the spectacular was a south island fella from christchurch riding a NSR150, sorry his name has slipped my mind at the moment, but i do remember he was a 14 yr old who's about 30kg's lighter than me! It was quite frustrating riding with him as he'd hold me up in the corners and then just ride right around me on the straight bits
When i approached him after the second race to congratulate him on his win the first thing he said was "What happened to you?" it would appear that he flew straight through Two Red Flags before realising that the race had been stopped due to another fallen rider<_<
I Finished Second overall though which is still a good result :)
The endurance race started out a little shakey for me, after dan had been out for the scrub in it started to pour down, i went out for the second qualifying and damn it was flooding, with no wet tires available for betty and rivers across the track everywhere it was Nana-styles everywhere, had an awesome lockup/slide/hairy moment into turn one on the first lap, realising that nope there's bugger all grip out here, and then again gently lost the rear exiting the L/H hairpin (turn 6) running wide out onto the grass at a pretty low speed but it was so wet there wasn't much else to do, better to run off the track at 45 deg to the white line than try stay on the track riding along it, re-joined and carried on as cautious as ever:done:
Thanks to all you guys involved with Doohan Racing, you all know who you are, be it helping in the pits, spectating or just being around to give us the push in the right direction, it was great to look back at the last year and now see that exactly 12 months later i have 3 trophies to show for our efforts, it was you guys who did the hard work to get me the tools i needed to get the job done.
Big ups to Dan for the opportunity to Give Betty a blast, she's an interesting bike to ride alright, (some might even say we'd have to be Munters to enter on her hehe) BUT FINISH WE DID! got the finishers trophy to prove it :), Cheers to the Guys at MotoTT who sorted us out with the pit shed and all other things for the endurance race, you guys kept us dry, warm and fuelled :)
I'll upload a video once i get back to my place in town, i'm at dads on the Dial up at the mo.
Cheers Guys
Paddy

True, but for the number of vehicles I see on the road it is lucky we don’t have more accidents. We went out yesterday and the traffic was thick on the ground.
Big ups to the traffic officer that pointed the finger at me when I was day dreaming and doing 115ish. I eyeballed him first and braked but let the brakes off when the detector didn’t go off and he pinged me then. Had not shed enough. All to casual. I am awake again.
Go that man. Good PR to start the year.

... a headon accident between a car and a light truck ....
The cause of the accident is not known and this is being investigated by the Serious Crash Unit.
Do ya reckon it just might have been because someone didn't stay on their side??
We're just home from Te Kaha...saw countless gratuitous crossings of the centre line, mainly by SUV drivers. Simply lazy driving. I really feel for the poor buggers that get taken out by these prats.
We passed the accident site - lots of stuff still on the road, oil etc, from the look of it. When heading to Napier, come up from the bridge, reach the flat and there's a gravel road off to the left...scene was just past there.

Hi. My oldest son (19) is not a member on here. So I promised to find out what rides are happening in HB that he could join in on.
He has a 400cc bike and is a relatively safe rider, nothing over the top. Sadly none of his mates ride, so the bike ends up sitting there often. He is not looking for anything fancy, probably whatever is going on. Anything from an hour to a day. And any day of the week.
As he does bar work he has different shifts most weeks.
I tried to find out here, but gave up as most entries in this thread is just comments.
Anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Please PM me with any info or post here.
Thanks in advance!

I am a relative newbie on here but being the first to read your post will reply.
Anyone who feels like a ride meets at the BP in Taradale Rd, napier at 1.30pm on a Saturday. Cater for all riders from advanced through to learners. A tail end charlie will keep an eye on the less experienced riders. We are ususally out till around 4ish or so. Can be 2 of us through to half a dpzen or more.
There is a group who leaves from the Taradale Rd Mobil Station at 5.30p on Wednesdays. They tend to be more experienced faster riders so probably not the best to aim for.
Sometimes we will do a longer trips and they will be organised and posted before hand. last Sunday we left at 11 and went to wairoa for lunch on the riverbank. Just before Xmas it was a Sunday ride leaving at 7am and we went through to taupo for breakfast and then around the lake/. Approx 500k all up (one of us only did about half of that, but thats another story eh Tony :innocent:). Had a guy on a 150 come along and Donna on her Honda 250.
There is also some talk about maybe also doing a Sunday ride for those who cant make Saturday arvos ... watch this space!
Cheers

We're staying the weekend in Taupo from Friday night.
On Sunday its the Triumph day at the track, but all makes are welcome, just their entry is more than Trumpy owners.
So check it out George.

Looked like what we got hammered by came from down there. Just a little to wet the track for the race group but we went out and dried it up for them, cloudy all day but just the one shower. Poured down on the way back on the Takapau plains. Bleeding good day though.

Well i had a blast today. Yea the first session was wet and i was in the fast class. Hell. But as it turned out the track was in excellent condition. Apart from the white paint on the front straight. By the time we got to the next sesion the whole track was dry and it stayed that way for the rest of the day.
Thanks to sugilite for letting me follow him around and get some idea of what i should be doing.
Thanks BigG for the company. You rode well today and you could see the improvement thru out the day. And to Cindy and Salea for the awesome lunch. And i did a good job of the cake aye.:Punk:

Yeah its a good ride, and we've done it all many times, but still is enjoyable and can be as cruisy or as hard as you wish.
My leather jacket is still damp from the rain.
But on the plus, looks like new now, all the bugs etc have gone!

Twas a great day at the track.
Session one and two were just disasters for me. No I didn’t drop it but I was so slow and out of practice I nearly dropped down a group. It just didn’t happen. Mary Mooo talked me in to going out and giving it another go. She was right and the ride got better and better. By the end of the last session I was feeling really good and pleased I had done the day. As SP said, I left it too long to pick up and run with the track, after my last bin, on the track.
Not everyone had such a good day and some bikes got dropped and some have go faster stripes on them but as I know that happens from time to time and the track is the best place to get them. I did see some really great riding today. Makes me appreciate how good so many people are on these bikes. Well done you lot.
Sounds like we have some interest in the South Island trip so I will post info in the next few weeks. In short we are looking at 11 days down south in 2010. Starting on or around the 7th Jan. Will keep you posted.
Thanks every one for a great day. I love the track. Time for sleep…………………..

Triumph day today a disaster, pissing down, and the guys on the track were real brave, but looked to be only going at about 30%, and a few motards were running rings around them.
Left at 11 this morn, and it hosed down half way home too, torrential rain.
First time at a trackday yesterday, good turnout by HB KB, and even tho I did'nt ride, enjoyed it immensely, learnt a lot by watching, can't wait till I get out there very soon.
