OK, sore back muscles...hmmm.
Seriously it is because you need to relax more...I know what I am saying because I've been there (and for a bloody long time!) Take a deep breath and then let it out Keep breathing! Talk to yourself or sing in your helmet, it helps to relax you and keep your breathing even.
You are doing great kiddo, just keep it up!

Yep. Sunday is good. Work till 11 ish. Wasp27 might come out and we can all do the first Main road ride together. Have you got the L plate John? See you all here on Sunday. Happy shopin Chicky.
You need to use Bees wax or similar on your leathers to make them water proof. You need to have them in the sun and or crank up the hair dryer and make the wax and the leather warm. Then rub it in. Mind you.......you could just wear them and get someone to put the wax on when warm..............................

Thanks for that. I shot over this morning 11.30ish but nothing I wanted. They didn't have the rubber I wanted.

I hope to get Chicky out for a ride on Sunday. Up and down our road a few times and then out on to the main road for the first time. Come on out about 2ish if you want to escort our Chicky back to town for her first main road ride. Top speed will be 70 so Chicky is legal. We must keep Chicky legal.
you could go for a ride and end up here around 2ish. All welcome. Support our Chicky as we did our Tart. Then they will hang around and play for years to come.

I am sure we can work somethin out. Maybe get it to Warrick and we can sort things out from there for the weekend. I can not commit to a ride at the moment. We have a few problems with the old house that are proving very troublesome and My Gixxer is talking to me about the cam chain and the cows need feeding. But it seems I can grab a few hours on Sunday so W and Chicky and I could go for a ride around the local roads. Even town to get you up to speed on that. Or just Chicky and I if you are busy W. Was bloody great to have you out. Looking forward to a great summer of plenty of riding and eating out all around the Bay. Sorry about the drive way.

Oh and to those of you who noted the smell.......... and it was very unpleasant here on Sunday...........I have found it. We cut a few holes in the floor in the old house looking for a plumbing problem cos it has been smelly for a long time. At least 3 weeks cos it was like it when Chicky stayed. Well I found it tonight. A fucking big possum paid me back for all the killing over the years. A very big dead bugger under the floor and I still cant get to it to pull it out. Mary said " no more holes" so it can stay there. Oh yea and the plumbing is fine.......... I will sleep well tonight.

Roll on the summer. Sorry to hear about the VMax. Just when you were getting out with us. What has it done?

Looks like we might have Leanne for a ride on Sunday. More girl power for you Chicky. That would make 3. Hmmm blind mice or musketeers

Hey only two of us have bad eyesight so that would make us the Three gorgeous Musketeers :Punk:

Smell what smell. I think im looking at a motor job smoke pouring out the back, no drama, i'll be back.

Ok guys, My parents are coming up for my uncles 50th and I want you to meet them if you can. They arrive on Friday 3rd August and are staying at the Tamatea Motor Inn. I'm going there after work for a few drinks to catch up with them. Did you guys wanna go down there that night too? Or maybe I could arrange something else. Bikes will probably NOT be the topic of conversation due to them not really approving of them but they are still interesting people and i love them . Let me know what you guys think. All good if you don't want to meet them too, but I rave about you lot when I'm down there so they would love to say Hi, especially Mum as she wants to know who has done a great job of looking after her little girl :innocent:

Nice to see you Zukin. Been a while mate. And Paul at the Pub and all you other lot

Some of us are thinking about a trip away. It might be 18 month to two years away but it will take some planning. Around OZ. No plans yet but we recon we can hire a container and pack it with bikes and gear and do the trip on our own bikes. Tents/ cabin or what ever. Do it on the cheap but leave room to change things from time to time. This is just an idea and it has not been investigated yet. I will start a new thread about it in the future. This is to plant the seed and give you a chance to think about it. I would think we should be away for a month. Lets see if this develops.

Thanks for a great ride. Missed some of you regular riders.

Ah a long day. Napier to Hamilton and back to pick up the young fella. Lucky we were in the cage as there was a massive frost on the Taupo plains. Ice all over the roads. Was behind one of those flash SUV's and and we got into a massive ice patch and around he went (360), and over he went off the road with the other two vechiles. And in my head i was saying get out of my way, as i was coming thru. And i just sailed thru (helps having a 4WD Car with ABS).
So guess you guys took the better road all nice and dry.

I went down to patangata the other day. The only drama is that the farmers have been grazing stock on the sides of the road. therefore there is mud and sh_t everywhere.

Hi Craig.
I went around the corner and picked the oil up from the new black display shelf. You tell me what brand it is.I ask Lee if this was the oil I should use. He went away and checked and changed the oil I had in my hand to a Race oil. I ask Lee the price of it 3 times and it was only when I insisted on knowing the price he told me it was $103.00 for the oil and the filter.

I have been a loyal customer of Twin city and was pleased to carry on but when it took 5 weeks to get a tyre for my son's bike it seemed a bit too long. Lee told us it was going to take 3-4 weeks so we ordered it and waited. Then I told Patrick to call Cycletreads and they had the tyre on the shelf for $170.00 landed in Napier. Then to top it off Lee told him he could have it Tomorrow for the same price what am I suppose to think? And when staff pick up parts and can not pay for them with our usual payment option cos Five star have not done their paper work I get pissed off. Our staff should not have to pay my bills thank you. Five Star could have put the stuff on my account if they didn't want/couldn't use Farmlands. Yes I have an account other than Farmlands. All they had to do was check the computer to see if I had an account and see if I paid on time.

I only published what happened. I have supported Twin City for years( as you know Craig) and have sent work from other friends your way for a long time. If Five Star improve their service and are as good as other bike shops I would recommend you. But in light of what has happened to me in the last few months do I not have the right to think things have changed?
I don't want a bun fight here so lets see how this works out in the work shop over time. If the service is good I will publish it. if not I will do the same. This is a bike riders club and the interest of bike riders is one of the things we talk about. Welcome to Kiwibiker Craig.

Oh by the way...........nice to have you back Craig..............hope to get out on the track with you again, soon

Cheers Craig

Now about this OZ trip. You going to write a report for us all to read on your trip? Plenty of interest from da local riders here in the Bay. Maybe you could be part of the next trip and lead the way. I recon I might have to get a tank made for the gixxer to get a few more K's out of a tank of Gas.

I would like some info on this stuff. As I said, we are just seeing if we have a few interested. I have had 5 people keen so far and I only put the idea out there today. I recon we should make it 18 months or so to get the $$ together. The trip you did is the one I want to do but carry on around the top and down the west coast. I will be back in to Five Star now you have made a point of letting me know you are back and have a chat sometime. Just out of interest Craig...what does it cost to ship a bike to OZ?

but your mate Steve flew past me up the elbow and disapeared, flipping heck he was flying. :

He lives at the top of the hill. Turn right and go in about half a K. He worked on that road and drove it every day for years. Knows it like the back yard. He is a very good rider. He took me under his wing and showed me how to ride when I got my first bike. A all round nice guy. So at the top of the hill he turned off. We often do a full throttle power blast up the hill. I can assure you we can get massive speeds going up there.

Everyone ok and not affected by this bad weather we are having? Just a little concerned...

I'm right in the thick of it.
Water under our bridge rose 12 feet in 4 hrs yesterday morning. Looked bad when I went to work at 7am. Our road was completely submerged by 8.30, wife was forced to stay home, no way out. The whole road and surrounding areas were flooded, including 2 houses on the flat in our road. Then a person decides to have a heart attack in our road so the choppers flew in to get them.
I came home at 12, could not get into our road, was under 4 feet of water, and had to go thru 4 police CD road blocks.
If there was time to committ a crime, yesterday was it, there were over a dozen cop cars from Valley Rd to my road.

One way with slips past the Chook & Filly and army unimogs ferrying residents, Fortunately my ute has knobbly tyres so I could grip thru all the mud and flooding on the road.

Managed to get home at 4.30 yesterday arvo, nearly a foot of mud up the road and an abandoned Hilux where the farmer had to escape via the window earlier in the day.
Then spent an hour under the bridge in feezing water waist deep by now sawing branches clogged around the poles.

Fortunately we are on a hill so had no damage, except driveway washout a bit down the bottom and a chunk out of the bridge by debris.

The devastation was unreal and seeing something like that first hand was freaky. Was just like on the news last night. The whole of Maraekakaho by the monument was a lake, all the houses surrounded, and the area wont be good for riding for a week or so I'd say.

Pissing down today, looks similar to yesterday, might take a drive down the road and look, but I'm staying put.

Customer of ours was caught in flooding in Flaxmere yesterday, sucked up water thru the air cleaner in his diesel truck, straight into the engine.......bent rods, $8000 thank you very much!

Something along the lines of....

Man suffers agonising arm injuries

A Maraekakaho local is recovering at home after a 3 hour wait in waist deep water yesterday
The man known to many locals as Dooly, suffered severe cramps to his arms whilst battling freezing cold water in yesterdays floods.
As the water levels increased, Dooly made a survival swim to his garage where he took one of his most prized possessions under his arms to give it a chance at surviving the flood waters.

Dooly lifted his Ducati 1000SS/DS using sheer strength; he rested the bike on his shoulders, and waited until the water receded enough for emergency services to persuade Dooly to lower the bike. At times he was battling to stay afloat, and was in freezing water.

Unfortunately all of Doolys other valuable possessions were lost in the flood, when reporters asked about the 3 sheep, 1 cow, a chicken, 42inch big screen TV and his car, Dooly replied that they were replaceable.
When Dooly was asked what would be the first thing he would do when we made a full recovery, he said to clear the slips on the road, so I can take my bike to town to celebrate.

Doolys bike was unavailable for comment last night, but we can confirm that it is in Doolys bedroom recovering from its ordeal
