Plan to race with you guys at Cemetery Circuit Boxing Day - Will chuck my entry in when there are 14 others to join me!
If everyone sits back and waits for the others; it won't happen, get your entry in first would be the go...

mint day today at ruapuna, imdying came and gave it a bloody good effort, onearmedbandit came for a look too :) he'll be temptd for a go sooner or later i recon
swinger n i started working together a bit more and got round the track ok.. still bit slow but getting there, see what our lap times are like on sunday.
meaaan weather, bike is running mint, new gear shifter is sweeeet, and only missed one or two gears, will fine tune the selector n get the slop/play out of it and that might be us sorted.
new handle for swinger seems to be a success he was happy as.
bit quick on the hairpin a couple times and had to bail on the attempts and head for grass.. dunno why those tyres are right there at the exit.. hard to avoid em but i managed.
had another moment when the back let go during a right handr, full opposite lock and then it just snapped back by itself.. better than a spin n crash. dunno what happened swinger said i might have clipped the rumblestrip/curb with the back wheel.
looking forward to race day on sat!!!! yee ha

haha, works with sex. yea shit sunday - you'll admit its normally on a saturday wont ya!
What were you doing and what happened?
entered corner feeling good, got half way around and then front just started understeering/pushing straight.. so would end up pointing toward the tyres at the exit and couldnt get it to tighten up or get the back loose to make the corner so just straightened up went onto grass, around tyres and then back onto track. did it twice. phil recons i was going too quick but thats not possible lol.. i thought he had fallen off or had his weight in the wrong spot which upset the bike (always swingers fault)

yip, thats configuration of a sidecar, 2 wheels out back would be a trike :)

The rules don't allow that configuration
It'd be interesting to run against something like that though as once upon a time trikes raced against sidecars in the same races

international rules for F2 still have handlebars and swingarms, not so far removed from the olden days as the long bikes
He's talking looking more like a bike with sidecar attached though, a F2 doesn't resemble that very much, you'd need to go back to at least the bikes running 16 inch wheels at least

Oh fuckin dear ROTFLAMFAOTIWAB, If I hadnt seen most of the tragic workmanship & "injuneering practices" that poor old Gordy has spent the last two months putting right, I wouldnt have understood what he was getting at there.
As one garage spectator remarked, "Dont they have scrutineering down south?"

The Owen Greenwood Mini in the UK circa mid '60s was the last cyclecar to go well - and it went so well they banned them.
It was actually a 4 wheeler too - the rears were close enough together to be classed as a single wheel.
The UK Vintage club race cyclecars - Morgans - with chairs up to mid 60's style - which I assume is where Kick gets the 16in wheel figure from.
There were chairs here in the 70's which were normal bike frames with chairs attatched - I remember seeing a couple of lowered Featherbed Nortons like that.

When the drive wheel came off the ground however, I honestly didn't think we had a choice in the matter.
Now come on Drew - tell the truth......... What is the only reason why a drive wheel comes off the ground??
Because when going around a right hander, if the passenger is still on the left hand side of the machine.......
What were you doing still hanging out there on the left when you knew there was a right hander coming up??
You must have really wanted to drink some beer!!!
Seriously - it's friggin harder than it looks eh!! Gotta have respect for swingers now!! (Well, not Kick, 'cause he would have come off from acceleration exiting the left hairpin....:love:)
Sidecar Bob every once in a while wakes me up when going around right handers, by deliberately grabbing a hand hold on the right hand side and throwing his weight out to the left. This of course lifts the rear tyre off the ground and sends us out of shape!! He's good like that!! Reckons I'm going too slow, and I need a wake up! I used to think I was getting a flat rear tyre, or we were hit from behind, but now know it's just Bob being a bistard!! Makes ya heart beat a little faster - that's for sure!
Oh, and believe me, I have tried my best to shake the bistard, but he just wont come off!
I rate him, without a doubt, as the best sidecar passenger this country has ever had, bar none. Not cause I'm biased, but because I can chuck any other top NZ passenger on my machine and scare them shitless!
Bobs even done a lap around Wanganui in anger on Chris Lawrances long bike without using his hands to hold on!
Show me someone else that's done that!
How many times do you see Bob waving to the crowd while we're racing? Constantly!
Now, going back to the right hander at Taupo............. why were you on the wrong side again.....??

It's about not having the coin to get there ( just to watch the racing and have a short hoon), got nothing to do with you and your belief that you are scary old man.

naw, shouldnt take u more than an hour and a half welly to HD on your RF
you can sleep with me and my swinger in the van
actually - mrs eddie wants to come up and watch me debut on the north island too, I told her to get herself some air tickets and the boys will take care of her!
(but now with me, my swinger and the mrs coming up I think we may def switch to tenting - what do you guys recon? think the mrs offered to pay that 50 buck camping fee.. is it 50 per person, or just 1 off 50 bucks and 3 ppl could camp up in a tent.. or two.. I dont think I need my swingers help at night time to keep me upright)
is everyone else sleeping in a motel? how far is the motel from the track.. and is it dear per night? mrs has a little cash she has offered up but not much, and swinger is about as broke as me

We have at least three empty vans for sleeping in.
8 to 9 km to the motel.
We will all bus around in the vans together, to eat, to get gas etc, nobody will have to walk.
Basically, we will function as a team for most of the weekend.
