That simply can't be right Shaun.
If it is even slightly wanked out, then it'll put out more than that.
The dyno wasn't calibrated correctly.
One thing, if it was their best engine, then why was it 1 second slower than last years times??
I cannot speak for them nor the Dyno mate. I just know what I saw on the Dyno sheet print out, and know of other bikes that have been on same Dyno, and the figures they put out fit in with 2 bikes in Auckland built by the same man, yet on diff Dyno's with very very similar numbers. What I can say about the time diff is, Adam was very hard on himself on Sunday night about his riding effort, maybe that was why the time diff.

Go figure....
I bet the person walking around the pits would have heard alot worse words than 'shit'..... just saying.......
Interesting - not being on facebook I don't hear a lot of this shit. I had no idea you'd been complained about. Maybe it was the "knocking on his back door like a gay Mormon" line i heard...and enjoyed.
I would assume that if a complaint was made the club would have had no option but to mention it to you.
At least you haven't had what happened to your commentary mate Blunder happen to you...I was at a meeting there where he was shut down for being over the circuit noise levels. Farcical. Later that day the local who'd complained took off in his aircraft - so the organising club complained about that noise level too.
Did the complainer write to wanganui organisers ? If so why the fuck do that ? PM me who he was please Spyda.

if they don't lodge a complaint then they have me in their sights and me alone.

yes that's fair, and i would expect to hear it, as i would if there was a compliment paid.
it was one of the workers at the cemetery circuit, who mentioned it to me, i explained that as it was an in house meeting with no streaming or recording, and being a classic meeting where the people who hire me, yes pay me something, want commentary and entertainment so i didn't think the word shit was out of line.

163 is FACT dude, They had it Dyno tuned for the first time ever last Tuesday.
Maybe they should look at who built the motor
Putting bits in a motor doesn't make it a hot rod motor it all has to work together to create the best hp

Or maybe that's about right
Dunno about the Hondas but the stock GSXR1000 K4 is about 143-145 rwhp (3 different stock motors), with Yoshi cams, pistons, thinner head gasket, balance shaft removed and Kibblewhite valve gear it was 163-165 (2 different modified motors)
I know of a modified K6 with 175rwhp and that cost $1000 for each extra Hp over the modified K4
HP figures don't mean shit anyway, it's all about who is riding the bike as proven by Alex with some of his laps with stock motors

I am a bit surprised that. Most people on here and in the racing scene know I am a JW but I never admonish anyone for their language. I may not enjoy the sound of expletives but I judge a person on their heart.
I have great respect for many people who swear like troupers because of the kind of person they are. In fact, in the years I have been involved in the racing scene it's rare to find anyone who doesn't swear. I have always enjoyed Spyda's commentaries and often told him so.
It's not my place to impose my personal standards on others. However it is a free country and if someone complains about public behaviour or language there are processes to go through.
I would be saddened if you gave up commentating Spyda

Unfortunately those 49 don't actually prove anything at all.
At risk of being told off for being off topic I recommend watching the movie "The Privileged Planet " No it's not a JW video but has a very interesting comment afterwards by world renowned evolutionary scientist Robert Jastrow. Children especially love the graphics as they do a pull-back through space from the Earth. Anyone interested in the science of the Universe will like it.

Only 3 entries for the class for nationals so far and even though mine was sent 17 days ago it isn't one of them, it's going to be an awesome series ;)
Might be easier to take turns being national champion, certainly a lot cheaper.

Crown currently sits with an underpowered post classic team. Showing up and finishing every race, and the odds of a top three number board are pretty bloody good.

Below is Tim's press release so we're all on the same page.
Well after a great first 2 weeks here in NZ.. It's unfortunately taken a turn for the worse.. When on Monday evening whilst out on a ride with Mark Wilkes on road bikes, he unfortunately was involved in an accident and has been hospitalised since..
He has multiple fractures to his neck and his left femur. But has no loss of feeling at all..
On Tuesday his femur was pinned and the doctors are very happy with the result.
And has just returned from his neck operation today, he has 6 broken vertebra which two have had to be fused.. But the docs are again very happy with the outcome.
He now has a longer stay here and a long road to recovery.
He has been unbelievably strong and in good spirits all week
I will update u all tomorrow when he's awake from the op..

It's not as stupid as it sounds.
After many years swinging for scrivy, I thought I'd get a classic solo to fill in the day at the track.
On my first ever flying lap of Manfield (I did race solos there in the '80's) I came towards turn one & started panicking about how late we were braking. Suddenly I realised it was my job today.

Always amazes me how people can use soooo many pieces of tubing to make a chassis.....and then put most of them in the wrong places. I was busy looking in the camera and my son in law described it as the sidecar had slid a bit and the swinger then got flicked off. Then I saw the sidecar go up the kerb and hit the pole just so hard I really thought the rider had hit the pole hard too as he was ejected forward. I was pleased to see the rider get up okay and walk to the ambulance. I only carry my little Sony pocket camera these days so don't get the flashest of photos.

Interesting back story to this outfit. I found out yesterday that it once had two CR500 engines in it, but couldn't usually finish a race due to all the parts vibrating off it.
It will probably give someone $1500 worth of fun at the price it went for though.

there are more marshalls by the exit on the other side, it's blindingly fast coming in there and the flag needs to be on the inside, odd thing is that for the first lap every flag marshall point holds out a yellow so the riders know where they are, did anyone think this wasn't the right place and go to the riders rep to get it sorted, nah thought not.

While you do make a valid point, because it's a street circuit there are problems changing anything...
Before the circuit plan is approved, it's scrutinised by every person and group who think they have a say. Anyone who wants to change something on the day is likely to face so much flak - and possible legal action - if something goes wrong as a consequence of a change that to all intents no change is possible.
Minor things like realigning a barrier will get away with no probs but moving a marshalls post won't/can't happen on the day.
The time to work for a move - or any other solution like raising the post height or cutting back greenery - is now. Before next year's approval is asked for.

For us to do it another class would also have to be dropped and we'd have to put reasonable numbers on the grid

NO! The course is still a public road, so if an incident happens involving an injury, the POLICE are Required to investigate just like a std road accident. So the rider with no helmet on stands to get nailed, and the organiser also for promoting and allowing it to happen. It is just dumb now and a time waster for people that want to go racing seriously

its also illegal on a public road to-
not stop at a stop sign,
cross railway lines without looking,
exceed the posted speed limit,
ride on the wrong side of the road,
But as you may have missed, the road had a barrier around it, closing it off from the public.
So for an allocated time the road was not a public road, it was a closed circuit.

There were crashes & the police didn't investigate, but the several times I have witnessed fatal accidents at closed circuits the police investigated, so I don't think there's any difference there.

Every - at a street circuit the surface and surroundings change every time out. That lap is to look at it and see/remember what's different.
When i did CoC at wyndham i actually gave one group 2 laps warmup - method in my madness, there'd been an oil spill and the extra lap helped disperse the cement dust...and brought home to them exactly where the oil was.
Then of course every group wanted the extra lap....

It's even more dangerous when a 'backmarker' goes out first and weaves left and right at a slow speed to try and warm up their tyres.....
Forgetting about the people behind trying for some 'heat'....
