Opinion? or fact?
Setting the Stage of the Press-President War:
US ruling ideology and Washington power have become unstuck as never before. A war of opposing certitudes and denunciations is waged day to day between the long-ruling US corporate media and the White House. Both continuously proclaim ringing recriminations of the other’s ‘fake news’. Over months they both portray each other as malevolent liars.

Given that the much maligned MSM is simply playing recorded press conferences and quoting what the dickhead is saying, I think I might have a hint which side is indulging in fake news and alternative facts....Check on Reuters position. Nothing's reported unless it's able to be independently verified.
But as I've said before, it's better than Game of Thrones.
Splendid hyperbole, BTW.

Have you looked at voting history over the last say 30 years? How often did any Government in this country gain more than 50% of the total vote?
in 1972 Labour got 48.4% of the total
In 1975 national got 47.6%
In 1978 national got 39.8% Labour got 40.04 - National Governed
In 1981 National got 38.8% Labour got 39% (The Nats Governed - Muldoon)
In 1984 Labour got 42.98%
1987 Labour got 47.9%
In 1990 National got 47.82
1993 National got 35.05%
In 1997 National got 33.87% - Bolger got to run the place - this was the first election under MMP.
Given that there is low turn out - never 100% of voters, you cannot claim in any shape or form, that from 1972 to 1993 ANY Government had majority support of the voters.
So tell me again about how we had a representative democracy under FFP.
You don't need 50% of the votes to be the most popular choice.
And adding some votes from a party none of the primary supporters voted for to make up some arbitrary difference in no way constitutes a representative government.
It's a fucking stupid system.

Opinion me thinks
The great unwashed of America , yes... cannon fodder
The power .. and the power centres
I don't know
Rome , England, and DC the 3 big centres of the world
Though
As Spain ranks higher than the queen , not sure about the temple bar and its status , possible our red shield bank is more in favour with rome, who has the power apart from Rome?
Spain , what's that , the house of Aragon ( Anjou ?) And is higher that the saxe-coburg , what other houses have more clout. And as all, well a lot of them , of the US presidents trace back to the Venetian royals? , George the 1st... I think, not in a position to check right now. Why would the centre of power shift to Israel?
A war yes , but a shift in power?
Would the landed families allow that? , Can they allow that?
Also the move by da jermans to move the financial centre to jermany..... is that jerman money coming back to haunt the criminal gangs we call leaders ,
Israel has a lot answer for but it's where and whom you don't see that one must look to find the real movers and shakers. Trump and pence tis but a side show
Just some thoughts with 20 min to go before being released ,,from work.

It's a percentage of the people who actually voted.
You don't need 50% of the votes to be the most popular choice.
True - but then you have a Government that most people did not vote for - exactly your criticism of MMP.
And adding some votes from a party none of the primary supporters voted for to make up some arbitrary difference in no way constitutes a representative government.
It's a fucking stupid system.
But it does - it gives you a Government that most people can go along with - and it stops the extremism of both ends of the political spectrum. Any laws that get passed must be supported by a majority of the MPs and that majority has a majority support of the voters.

So what? It's still the most popular choice.
And no, that's nothing like my criticism of MMP. MMP dosen't give you a government most people want, in most cases the result isn't anything anyone had any ability to either chose or predict. Yet again: the result of MMP is almost always something nobody voted for, so how can you claim it has any sort of majority support?
All it does is mandate fucking stupid, irrelevant trade offs, like "you support us on X issue, (which we don't have any public support for), and we'll support you on this (completely unrelated piece of bullshit) Y issue that you also don't have enough support for". How the fuck is that "representative" of anything but an institutionalised rip off?

I think you are being too cynical. It became apparent early on that the voters (apart from politicians?) grasped the concept of tactical voting.
As for "representative"? How about Roger Douglas? Voted in by the left and then he subjected the country to an extreme right wing restructuring. Ignoring whether or not the sffects were beneficial, there was no way anybody voted for that.
Later we had Shipley and Richardson who gave us a needless recession while the rest of the world enjoyed a period of prosperity.
FPP is dead and buried and bloody good job. Can we go back to having less MPs now? That gerrymander failed.

Nah, all I ever want is for a single political entity, (a predefined group is fine) to offer a coherent set of policies that constitute a viable plan to grow the economy.
And then FUCKING STICK TO IT.
Much as you may not have like previous FPP results you can't ignore the fact that others did. If Douglas hadn't dumped the last of the socialist dogma in favour of open market policies, for example, most economists had us dead in the water.

Why does any party have to get an arbitrary 50% of the vote to be the most popular? That model goes back to previous generations, with just the two parties.

Remember the synthetic petrol plant, first in the world. Previously the process had only worked in the lab, nobody had ever done it full size. Muldoon had it built at a cost of $17,000,000,000 IIRC. And I did see the gold embossed leather bound documents. Those dollars were a lot bigger than today's.
When it was finished we had a fully functioning plant that converted natural gas to methanol then converted the methanol to gasoline.
Then the oil price dropped. The Govt panicked and almost paid Fletcher's (?) to take it of their hands. After a brief period it was onsold to Methanex, a Canadian company, who export something approaching 2,500,000 tons of methanol a year.
The methanol to gasoline part of the plant was cut up and sold for scrap.

The US right wing lunatic fringe is having some problems. Alex Jones' ex went to the court to get his access to their kids stopped because of his alleged mental instability.
Not a good look for Mr Jones, but his lawyer galloped to the rescue and informed the Judge that Jones' show was all an act. Either way that's a problem.
Bill O'Reilly has been given the arse card from FOX News. It is thought he won't even be allowed back to say goodbye. He'd apparenty signed a new two year contract

However, Jones has apologized for promoting one recent conspiracy theory: Jones said a Washington pizza restaurant was the site of a sex-abuse ring operated by Hillary Clinton and her campaign adviser John Podesta that was dubbed “Pizzagate.”

With Republicans controlling the Presidency and both houses the gun industry is safe. Ironically this may mean hard times for the industry. Every time Obama tried to introduce a gun control measure, however mild, sales went through the roof. In recent years there have been shortages of some types of ammunition, magazines and assault rifles, demand was so high. Whatever was under threat sold like hot cakes.

That's right , 2 cruisers trapped in harbour , given a warning the got a bit of British right up em
They don't like it up em they don't
But it's zem jermans that are making me think
Some of the stuff they were working on ,forget the V2 , these boys had TV guided bombs ,
Look at the ratio of ruskie dead to German, 20 to one possibly more on the Russian front
Rumour has it they da Germans were using fuel air bombs
So the boys had the tech, and Nuremberg was a farcical show
So where is that tech now , who has it or knowledge of it and if they did persue that knowledge, then that would make a nuclear bomb look like a firecracker
And while I am thinking out loud , 9/11 that building was pulverized into dust bombs or planes or thermite don't turn stuff into dust
IMHO
And just how do 322 reindeer go to reindeer heaven , from lightning

I knew about the guided bombs, but they were not used much, couldn't see though cloud or smoke plus the Jerry's never really had any stategic long range heavy bombers.
Its a waste of time concentrating on having the most technological weapons, if this results in a waste of resourses meaning you can't produce them in sufficent numbers or repair them.
The Sherman vs the King Tiger is a great example, the Jerry one might have be 4 times as good, but the Yanks were able to produce them at a 100:1 better ratio.

That's unkind to Nixon.
Interestingly Comey was fired allegedly on the advice of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, the Attorney General, who supposedly recused himself from the investigation into the Russian connection. It appears to have been done at short notice, the letter was delivered to the FBI by Trump's personal bodyguard which is not business as usual. The bodyguard is not a government employee.
Ivanka Trump's in laws are in China selling $500,000 immigration applications and soliciting Chinese investment in real estate. Some or all of the press were excluded, because the family didn't like the story that would be printed. There was a screen shot from the presentation which apparently stated (in Mandarin) that the chief decision maker in the investment programme was Donald Trump. His photo was prominently displayed.
There are a number of laws being broken but the Republicans control both the House and the Senate so the chances of anything happening are remote. As yet.

Yes, as has been described elsewhere, the Republicans are trying to slow-walk it through the house investigation to gain time. But given the internet and every news organisation in the world is looking at it too, they may well be last to the party. This firing is another delaying tactic.
I like what one commentator said this morning - Nixon is defined by the statement "I am not a crook" - Trump may well be defined with "I am a crook - deal with it" At least Nixon appears to have simply wanted power - this prick is lining his and his families nests as hard as he can.

You must be using the wrong news sources, there have been many US news items have acknowledged the inherent irony in all of this. Some have included detailed lists of countries where the USA used covert, or even overt military force, to ensure a friendly (to them) political outcome.
Still, if Trump was using Russian funds or influence that does need to be dealt with unless he can shut it down...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-revealed-highly-classified-information-to-russian-foreign-minister-and-ambassador/2017/05/15/530c172a-3960-11e7-9e48-c4f199710b69_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-banner-main_trumpintel-0504pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.8a5ef0845aee

I've bottled it up long enough and now I have to have my PETTY rant to get it off my chest.
I hate the fact that Trump returns salutes of the military. Not only is he not in uniform and has never served, but his daddy's doctor gave him a medical deferment to avoid the draft in the Vietnam War.
There are more important things to worry about with this man but this small thing really annoys me.

They salute the office not the man...Pretty sure I read during the Bush era that most of the White House detatchment were known to mutter, shall we say, rude things under their breath while saluting. Doubt if it's got any better...

Know what you mean, seeing someone salute while not wearing a hat grates with me. But hey, it's the USA.
When Obama was in the hot seat there was uproar because on one occasion he did not salute the guard when boarding Marine 1. So I guess the Prez, whoever it is, is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
The story about Obama not saluting may have been "fake news" anyway, but it kept the biggots busy for a while.

The plan to set Israel against the Muslims is going to plan, ( August 2017?)
Someone somewhere has the means to influence. The neocons tend towards Zion, the military or at least the weapons research industry are Nazis.and many in trumps and surrounding trump are Jesuits. They ALL are kabbalahistic satanists.
I dont think they are brainwashed at the higher levels , I do think they follow a plan. which is bordering on military precision. While we aint in the club so will never know , ( I suspect they are 50 years possibly 100 years advanced in technology. Than what they tell us.) They DO leave markers , flags that cannot be hidden. ( hows that magic bullet for example)
i have some questions , wheres the money.? The Nazis and the Japanese hid a ton of gold and assets , after the war . The marshal plan was just money laundering , so where is that money now? its either in a bank or spent , what bank and /or what was ,is it being spent on?
Russia , was broke in 1991. now they are putting naval bases in Venezuela and America says nothing , bombing Isis and America says nothing?
Germany ? sitting in the middle of Europe with very high tech ( nuclear ) industry trying to move the financial base from London to Frankfurt . setting themselves up for the death of the dollar, ( the petro dollar is dead , and countries such as Mexico and Greece are heading into a " crackup boom" ( Google Austrian school crack up boom). How will America payback debt in a non dollar economy ,? a gold rush ?
WTF are these arsehats up to ? ATM , 1984 is looking like a very good playbook. !
Either way, Someone needs money ( for research weapons tech) , someone has a big weapon ( some sort of non nuclear frequency weapon) , and All of them are satanic psychopaths
Trump and Israel are just pawns in the game .
( stands back and takes off tinfoil hat due to overheating )

Trump was talking about his beautiful solar powered wall and saying it had to be transparent otherwise people on the USA side might be hit by sacks of drugs flying over the wall. Which rates up there with his best unhinged comments, but there had been an item on CNN about a catapult that had been used to throw drugs across the wall.
Which in itself is interesting, because he says CNN is fake news and he doesn't watch it.
Trump though is not the only leader a few sheep short in the top paddock. The JFK speech is about communism and of how free speech of the press needs to be balanced with the need of maintaining national security due to the cold war ffs.
he was reminding the press that a lot of the information important for National security has been released by the press and this is being read by the USSR, At the time, this was potentionally harmfull to the USA's national security.
He was asking them very nicely to please be be responsable.
It was a very lighthearted speach. One of his funniest.

here is the first part of it, cretin.
The fact that your video attempts to manipulate this fact, speaks volumes for its integrity and your own, lack their of.
President John F. Kennedy
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York City
April 27, 1961
Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen:
I appreciate very much your generous invitation to be here tonight.
You bear heavy responsibilities these days and an article I read some time ago reminded me of how particularly heavily the burdens of present day events bear upon your profession.
You may remember that in 1851 the New York Herald Tribune under the sponsorship and publishing of Horace Greeley, employed as its London correspondent an obscure journalist by the name of Karl Marx.
We are told that foreign correspondent Marx, stone broke, and with a family ill and undernourished, constantly appealed to Greeley and managing editor Charles Dana for an increase in his munificent salary of $5 per installment, a salary which he and Engels ungratefully labeled as the "lousiest petty bourgeois cheating."
But when all his financial appeals were refused, Marx looked around for other means of livelihood and fame, eventually terminating his relationship with the Tribune and devoting his talents full time to the cause that would bequeath the world the seeds of Leninism, Stalinism, revolution and the cold war.
If only this capitalistic New York newspaper had treated him more kindly; if only Marx had remained a foreign correspondent, history might have been different. And I hope all publishers will bear this lesson in mind the next time they receive a poverty-stricken appeal for a small increase in the expense account from an obscure newspaper man.
I have selected as the title of my remarks tonight "The President and the Press." Some may suggest that this would be more naturally worded "The President Versus the Press." But those are not my sentiments tonight.
It is true, however, that when a well-known diplomat from another country demanded recently that our State Department repudiate certain newspaper attacks on his colleague it was unnecessary for us to reply that this Administration was not responsible for the press, for the press had already made it clear that it was not responsible for this Administration

In New Jersey a politician who joked of the "Women's March" protest, "But will they be home in time to cook dinner?" has been defeated by one of the women who marched.
There have been a number of firsts, including the first ever black mayor in Montana. Elected in the state capital no less, he arrived in the US as a refugee from Liberia, Africa.
The election results should be a slap in the face for Trump but while he is probably too dim to realise exactly what happened and will be busy blaming everybody else, nobody is as interested in politics as politicians. Republican Senators and Congressmen will be acutely aware of the swing against them.
In this country people, Mike Hosking for one, waffle on about us needing electronic voting. Because of hacking fears in the US, all votes in Virginia were cast on paper. It might be a bit premature to introduce computers to the process? At least until security can be guaranteed.

Bloody Hell John. Where do you think these idiots get this stuff?
The Republicans are trying to blow smoke about Uranium One. A Russian company bought an interest in an American company, they did not buy any uranium. Why would they? Most of the worlds uranium comes from one of the former soviet satellites, Turkmenistan, Tajikastan, or one of the other stans. The Republicans are suggesting that Clinton was up to no good although she may not have even been Secretary of State at that time.
The USA, like NZ, has a foreign inverstment watchdog and the members of that committee were unanimous in approving the purchase. One of the nine members said if the same request was made today it would be passed just the same.
So what is going on? Mueller, the special investigator into Trump's Russian connections started making arrests and frightened the shit out of Trump and his handlers. They can't sack Mueller without creating an uproar. Mueller's boss, Jefferson Beuregard Sessions III, can't sack Mueller because Sessions recused himself from everything to do with Trump's Russian connection. The end game is to get Mueller to recuse himself because he was head of the FBI at the time of the Uranium One deal thereby creating a conflict of interest. That's drawing a long bow because the FBI normally has nothing to do with overseas investments. It's all fairly desperate far fetched stuff.
Did that website carry the story about HRC's child sex slave ring underneath the pizza place? Or the one about NASA kidnapping cjildren and sending them to Mars where their organs were harvested? It's about the same level.

It's not something I'd put past them. After all, some people go to great lengths to feather their own nest. Some even create pathways for vehicles to enter and exit warzones full of "acquired" oil whilst working for people who get Nobel Peace Prizes for increasing the number of bombs dropped securing peace. Kind of makes uranium selling to whoever, not Russia, but a human being that may happen to be Russian, look like petty crime. That and her rhetoric concerning Iran/Iraq/Libya/Syria etc... and the funding of ISIS that is no longer conspiracy. The odds are stacked against her being squeaky clean simply because she was in a position of responsibility. After all, covering positions of authority would be something that sexual predators would do in order to control their victims. I do not see these sorts of things as outwith the realms of reality.

It was a long day at the coalface. We sat and mulled a few things over as we marveled at what we had built. Phil was pleased that the arch was holding way more than anyone suspected. Although he had known all along that the likelihood of the arch doing its job, and more, was a given. Primarily because that's how Ken had instructed Phil to build the bridge. Dave said, "Phil. What can you do for this?" as he slid the budget across the desk. Phil's eyes lit up as it was way more than he needed, but opened up all sorts of other possibilities when it came to putting in the arch or all arches. All of a sudden any thoughts of there being a long day at the coalface was gone. The marvel was before them. Dave took a deep breath, turned, looked Phil in the eye and said, "I knew if I gave you enough money and authority you'd be able to do it.". Phil said, "I could have done this 10 years ago if we had have been living in a Resource Based Economy. The financial system slowed this whole thing down. But hey, Fuckwits.". Dave spun on his heels and muttered something about capitalism being responsible for both of their achievements. But Phil had already drifted off painting in a backdrop of buildings of function and of the beginnings of a city that he would never see built, nor even that a single sod would be turned whilst capitalism continued to exist. He had heard what Dave had said, but figured that the picture he was painting didn't need to be interrupted by such a fuckwit. After that, Phil realised that Dave actually accomplished nothing. Not because he wasn't a smart, intelligent and lovely guy... but he was indeed just a fuckwit. But what a fuckin arch.

Meanwhile, in an RBE, in a parrellel universe, 10 Million Ukranians were starving to death because some Fuckwit called Phil had used all the resources to build a bunch of pointless arches, in the middle of nowhere with no regard to whether or not the majority of people needed them or wanted to them.
And at that moment, the Ukranians realised that the RBE was just another unrealistic pipe dream, from social constructionist, closet communists that would see them all dead.

Interesting, I certainly do not recall ever stating that, are you saying that you know what I mean despite it not being what I've stated? That sounds a lot like more misinformation. .

Misinformation is one of the core issues surrounding the 2016 presidential elections, how is that not on topic?

True!
Unfortunately misinformation has been the norm long long before any recent elections - the advent of the internet has exposed just to what extent!
The weapon of defence for those being exposed is to to flood the internet etc with so much misinformation that it will become less effective until ignorance reigns again!

See, I would have removed, "That sounds a lot like more misinformation.", that bit from your quote but knew you'd get all precious again. As such, you read what you chose to read for whatever reason you chose to read it. Mirror m... Fuckwit.

Have you heard about the world's roundest object? scaled up to the size of the earth it's highest peak would only be 7m above ground level, yet your posts somehow have even less of a point.

So many men, so many opinions - read that as meaning, to me it's mind over matter - "I don't mind because yours don't matter".

Try raising your repost criteria to more than just whether it fits your opinion then, check if it is misinformation before posting it. Think back to a year ago, were you pro-trump or against?
