There was a website called "Britain's Small Wars" which sadly, is currently not available. It detailed the British arrival in Palestine by the paras who were sympathetic to the Jews. Many of the paras had been at the liberation of some of the German concentration camps at the end of the war. (And yes, they really did exist .) The paras were basically operating as "peacekeepers" although that term may not have been invented yet. So they arranged their tents in neat lines on a park. Until they were machine gunned from nearby roof tops by terrorists/freedom fighters - your choice - and the situation changed with attitudes adjusted accordingly.

I'm fucked if I know. I just got into a highly charged discussion with a friends elderly Jewish mate. What I'm hearing is that any embassy move is a minimum of three years in the making.
Land has to be found, acquired, cleared - all difficult in Jerusalem.
The building site and builders have to be effectively fortified and protected for the period of the build - and it will be under attack....

Fox "News" is working hard at discrediting Comey and Mueller with charges of them being Democrat hacks. Both Comey and Mueller are registered Republicans and both were appointed head of the FBI by Republican presidents.

Alabama election winner Doug Jones may not be in the Senate very long. Three quarters of white male voters voted for Moore as did two thirds of white women. What got Jones elected were the 98% of black women and the 96% of black male voters. If he has any idea of sticking around he needs to be nice to the black people, but he has already said that he may sometimes have to vote with the Republicans.

Nine out of the ten poorest states in the USA are solid Republican. Alabama is rated the poorest and worst educated of the lot. Some of the poor whites give Christianity as the reason for voting against the Democrats but there isn't much Christ in their religion. Fundamentalist religous bigots would be a better description.

Hypothetically speaking, if one were to sell for example a motorcycle, one would be wise to keep a few thousand dollars stashed somewhere on one's property for the inevitable ATM failures, and the unlikely but still possible, bank runs with either restrictions on withdrawals, or a Cyprus / Greek- type 'haircut' (referred to at the linked article) where the government confiscates most of one's balance but still requires one to pay off the mortgage.

Storing a few weeks of palatable food and clean water, and other basic (hygiene and power) essentials i.e. in order of magnitude more than the three days recommended by the council and Civil Defence would seem prudent .

The local TV News reporting on Trump's efforts to start a trade war is less than clear. The list of items countries slap tariffs on in reply at first appears rather random, chocolate and Harleys etc etc. Actually it's far from random. China, and now Canada, have been very specific in the products they have targeted. The items tend to originate from parts of the USA where Trump was elected by a narrow margin, or that are home base to prominent politicians who support Trump.

A prominent Russian chess player says that Putin's first wish was for sacntions to be lifted. Flynn fucked that up. Putin's second choice was for the US to have a trade war with Europe. Trump is following orders.

Only 138 of the 193 members even think they deserve to have observer status at the UN.

They start to diverge when you look at Churchill's career prior to WW1 when he went looking for action so to speak. Yes, I know about the Dardenelles campaign in WW1 - and what he learned from it. A long career in UK politics prior to WW2 gave him the maturity he needed IMO.

The interesting comparison is rather Churchill to his relative Wellington. Wellington had a long history of frontier skirmishes and battles before taking on Napoleon. Again, gaining experience away from Europe.

Newspapers around the world are in trouble. I saw a comment once in respect of the Huffington Post. The writer was saying that he would not consider them fully as a news organisation until they covered local body council meetings. His point was that if traditional newspapers die out, and there are no journos at council meetings, corruption would become the norm.

In that respect New Zealand is no different. If the papers stop attending council meetings all kinds of insider deals would become possible and nobody would be any the wiser.

Lots of people use private email accounts for business emails and vice versa. It is silly but very common. Installing a private email server in your house is a whole different matter. The only obvious conclusion is that it was being done to bypass the official State Dept system which had to be fully recorded.

The FBI agent Strzok who recently appeared before Congress made the mistake of sending anti-Trump messages to his mistress on the official email system.

The dumb shit some of these people do is almost unbelievable. Manafort, currently in jail, was reportedly interfering with witnesses apparently with the assistance of his lawyers. All very secret - except that he had opted to save his emails to the cloud.

but thats it though, if you receive or send a message to anyone in the state department it is still recorded on the state department server. The main issue i see with it is a hacking security risk with a private server, which means all the indiscretions of the trump administration are in essence exactly the same. Or worse because they are also knowingly doing so after all the shitstorm in the media using a private server for official documents,But don't worry the trump administration is investigating their own people so expect a real robust investigation.:laugh:

Following links from a recent post I came across an ad from some wanker repeating Trump's call for security clearances to be withdrawn from a number of people he doesn't like. Notwithstanding that is not how the system is supposed to work, and ignoring that Kushner had access to highly classified material with only a semi-permanent temporary clearance. Several of the people on Trump's list don't have the clearances he claims. When an FBI employee is dismissed their security clearances are withdrawn immediately as you would expect. Well, as we would expect. Apparently though, this is news to the stable genius.

It gives the date of birth as the 4th of August but is signed by the supervisor of obstetrics on the 8th of July.
There is also another similar named hospital with a record of his birth in Mombasa too. So one of them must be fake?
Also, and you should really check this yourself so you will know for sure, there were newspaper birth entries for Obama in Honolulu. Were there many in mombasa? Not yet?

Exactly why it is a fake! No-one outside north america uses that format as far as I know, certainly not Britain or any of it's colonies, or anywhere else in Africa. But, I suppose there will be a seperate conspiracy for that?

Actually I can't be bothered with this. If anything, you will be even further entrenched in your belief, as you will be convinced that someone is still trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

That's barely half of it. From an IT perspective - using a cloud-based Email service for official communication is frowned upon, the reality of those setups are is that as cloud-based services, their internal security is often top notch - the only vector for attack is a weak password. This combined with the fact that a lot of email communication these days is on a mobile device, where often a user might have their corporate and personal email accounts loaded on the same device tends to lead to the occasional email sent from the wrong account - and as such, a blind eye is often turned.

However, setting up a Private Email server is an entirely different scenario - for starters - what is your security policy on that server? Is the Server configured with the latest security patches? Are you following various security standards (such as PCI DSS, IETF recommendations etc.) What is your auditing policy on the server? What about Backups?

The fact that 30,000 emails have been permanently deleted means at the very least the Auditing and Backup policy was not very robust (if a small group of people can erase all the data).

Reading the article you posted - all I can say (as an IT admin) is that the article is Horse Shit. And I'll give you a very simple scenario - if I email you from my private email address, to your private email address but I do so in an official capacity - that will be logged Nowhere.

In effect it's trying to claim that Email headers that will be stored on the recipient end is sufficient for official use - Considering that headers are added sequentially by each email server in the chain - it's piss easy to forge a set of headers - so that article is laughable in it's defence "oh if you email someone official, then it's stored on that end and is a sufficient audit trail"

TL;DR - if Hilary worked at any company I've worked at - She'd have been hauled up in front of the CEO for serious breach of IT policy and summarily dismissed,

In regards to the claim that in the Trump administration, that private email servers are "reportably" alive and well (with no evidence backing that up) - and for the Trump phone claims - He had a personal Twitter account and a personal Mobile phone predating his role as POTUS, this is just an attempt to deflect.
