Hey all

I have just had my navigator bail on me for this weekends car race in Rotorua (Targa Rally)
So I thought I would ask here to see if anyone is interested

No experience or race licence necessary
We need to leave HB on Friday afternoon and will be returning on Sunday night

You will need to be able to read maps :niceone:
Accommodation will be provided, you will just need some money for food etc

So if you have always wanted to see what the Targa is all about and to travel on closed roads then drop me a line

Cheers

Well guys i will soon be back on two wheels for commuting but nothing above about 70kph (dew to financial reasons i will be using jeans and old helmet for a few weeks, i am 100% confidant it didn't hit the ground and has not sustained meaningful damage) as i save up for decent riding gear and a new helmet.

I have the new indicator and leavers for the 250 as well as a fork seal kit, now all i need is somebody to repair the side cover by welding (any recommendations people?) then it will simply be a case of putting it back together.

Any recommendations feel free

(am hoping to have new helmet and decent riding gear for 19 of july, VMCC meet 3 for the year so i can take the 400 over)

There is a plastic welder in Napier that a lot of the Pannel beaters use, got to be in Onekawa, Depends on the plastic it should be ABS.

I have just got off the phone to the "bustagut" gathering in Turangi. They have decided that they want to head over here tomorrow and ride some of our famed HB roads.
The plan is to meet up at BP Bayview..the quicker guys should probably arrive there about 11.30, refill bikes and head thru to Puketapu for lunch at the pub (they have been forewarned).
Apparently there is 30 or so riders heading our way. We could do with a hand to keep them in line (some of them are Aucklanders...we know how they can't cope out of the concrete jungle...!)
Hope to see some of you at BP Bayview tomorrow...please? We expect that they will all be there by 12.

Have a good ride fellow H/Bay people. Sorry I can’t join you but got Family here.

Went for a ride to Wairoa this morning. Well that’s not totally true. Nearly to Wairoa. I got the Police com this morning to say the road was closed cos a logging truck had rolled over but figured it would be cleared by 8. Wrong. Anyway left here and fueled up in Bay View about 7.30 ish. Headed off with the sun coming up. Lots of wet bits on that road in the early morning. Lots of sun strike on that road in the early morning. Turkeys, Peacocks, goats and rocks. What a challenge when you throw in one massive frost. The coldest part was Sandy creek. All in all a challenge but never the less with plenty of gear on, a great ride. We were stopped 10km south of Wairoa for the accident. I realised it was not going to open for while so headed for home.

Now I had the sun behind me and no traffic. Most of the wet corners had dried out and I reckoned I had enough fuel to zoom along. Even the air temp had lifted and it was a 10/10 ride home. Still lots of live stock on the road and rocks and things but with no traffic and no ice it was premo. Take plenty of cloths. It is cold out there.

Have a great days riding. Say hi to the visitors………………….. Cheers people.

No tickee - no washee. I was being good (having a nice man in a Hilux flash me helped) and waiting to clear the grease spill...he was busy making a sale to some unwary sod. It was the gold commode that I didn't see but Alvin picked up on his FuckOffMeter...
At 1pm to be told that they had a long way to go on their planned loop, they decided that they'd be better enjoying some choiuce HB roads and weather, before going back the way they came.

Oh bugger G, when I first got to da servo the guy asked where we were heading to, and I said probably up the Wairoa road cause down south looked a bit breezy. So you can blame Mark....he was the one that suggested we go out to Crownthorpe. It was a bloody nice ride too....the wind eventually came up there as well, but then died down....was very enjoyable. Well i went to a local bike shop today to purchase. I was looking all over it and asked the salesman a few things about it. As you do. He said do you want to take it for a spin? I said i got no gear. He said we will lend you some. Cool i thought. Then he asked me to leave my wallet and keys as security. I didnt think i looked that bad. Then i had to fill out one of those forms that they require when you take a bike out. Filled it all out and got down to rego number and i said you better put a D Plate on so i can fill out the rest of the form. So off he goes to get the plate and comes back a few minutes later and says "we dont have one at the moment but you will be ok" I said to him "i might get pulled up" He said "na you wont get pulled up" I said "and whos gonna pay the $250.00 ticket"
So the pit bike is still in the shed looking very lonely and petrol still keeps going up and i guess there is always another day.

Round two is this Saterday or Sunday? What the heck is CNC code, not a CNC machine for jigging up motorcycle parts is it;)

Could be motorbike parts... one day...

CNC code for a turning centre (CNC Lathe) looks something like this:
(translation in brackets :) )

% (Program start)
:1001 (Program Name)
N010 G21 G96 G99 (N010-Step1 etc, G21-Metric input, G96-Constant surface speed, G99-Feed per revolution)
N020 T0202 M08 (T0202-Tool No2 offset No2, M08-Coolant pump start)
N030 S800 M03 (S800-Spindle 800Rpm, M03-spindle clockwise rotation)
N040 G00 X63 Z5.00 (G00-Tool Rapid, X63/Z5.00-tool rapid moves to these reference points)
N050 G01 Z0.000 F0.20 (G01-traverse/set feed, Z0.000-feed into this point, F0.20- Feed into previous point at 0.20m/min)

Etc...

So yea it looks somethings like that, all that little bit will do is start the spindle and run the tool across the face of a workpiece. the programs are usually hundreds of lines long and not uncommonly thousands.

It actually all makes sense and is pretty basic, just like plotting points on graph paper, but you've just got to tell the CNC what tools to use to get there and how :)

Usually you'd draw up the part to be made in a CAD programme then it would generate the code for you, but the operator/designer still has to be able to read and proof the program before it goes to the machine or else big boo-boo's can happen :sweatdrop

What a day we had at Manfield. The alarm went off at 4.30 and I had to kick myself outa bed and get in to the groove. Get the bacon and eggs on and wake da boys. Looked outside and it was cold. In the van and gone by 5.30am Tooted at Wasp27 who was putting the last of his bike gear on and away we went. Fog and cold were the things we had to contend with. Wasp27 had to stop on the trip down to de Ice himself and the bike. He will post a report on that I am sure.

Arrived at the track and setup for the day. Fueled the bike and sent Speights_Bud out for a few scrub in laps. I was nervous about the bike as it was running lean. Nice power and running well but lean. Speights_Bud came in and was happy. Out again for the qualifying laps. Two slower laps followed by a flier. He looked to be on song, so to speak. Nice lines and a nice riding position. The clock confirmed what I had seen. Pole by 2 seconds.

Time to measure and mix fuel. Check the bike and confer with the Team, Wasp27 and Gary, and see what changes we needed to make. The call went up for the first race so it was a pat on the back for Speights_Bud and away he went. The bike sounded great as he went down pit lane. Around to the grid. The 125s took off and the start was set for the 150s. Lights out and S/B was off. A great start and he maintained the lead. Well done that man. He had problems with the starts in Taupo. The practice he has put in has made all the difference. S/B raced well and had really nice lap times. His riding was even and smooth. What does that relate to Rob? He won the first race by 7 seconds. Very tidy and smooth racing.

We had the bike back in our clutches and had time to look at things. The skill of Wasp27 allowed us to assess the bike and we both agreed it was running really well. Probably too well so we changed a few things and got more fuel in to it. This robbed some power but we heard the second race had been extended to 10 laps. We only had minutes of notice of this change. We had set the bike for 5 laps. More fuel and lift tyre pressures. That was the plan. We got more fuel in that’s all the time we had. S/B was off to the grid. A good start but not as good as the first race. S/B held the lead for half a lap and was over taken by bike number 205. ( Zane Brooks ) S/B chased hard and out braked Zane but just couldn’t take the lead back. He worked on passing for 4 laps and finally Zane put his hand up and pulled off the track. His race was over. S/B continued to race hard for the next 5 laps. He won the race by 14 seconds. He worked hard to get that result. Well done S/B. Well done Zane. That was a great ride you put in. You had us on the edge of pit wall.

So two wins on the day. That gives him first place over all at the moment. It is a long season so we need to continue to work on the bike and support S/B for the rest of the season. The extra 5 laps overheated the rear tyre but well done to Patrick for riding to the conditions. If we had not changed the set-up with the fuel I believe the bike would have cooked it’s self in the 10 laps. Well spotted Wasp27 and for the changes you helped to make. Thanks Warrick and Gary. You guys rock man. Nice to see you at the track BigG. Many thanks to Tart for your support and looking after us in Mooo’s absence. Big up’s to MSTRS and Sweed for working as Marshals. Whoooo whoooo what a great day!

Hi guys, as you all know we have a funeral coming up, we are still not sure when but will post details as they come to hand. We all know that Scott was a great guy, loved and respected by many.
We can expect an influx of people from all over the country for his send off and a goodly number of those will be needing/wanting a place to stay.
Can you PM me if you have beds available, and how many?
Thanks

Too me he has fallen out, as in, the scene of ours, he never comes on anything now or anyone sees him. Simple. not implying anything, nor taking sides, nor interested.
Gave him the txt out of courtesy.
I never said anything about him being pushed away, nor do I know the circumstances of his reasons.

He asked if I could store his bikes for him when he moved into that motel down Kennedy Rd, prob about 3-4 months ago, dunno, maybe longer...as he had no shed.
Its the motel on the left heading to Napier, they let out the units as flats now.
He had started a job at Goodtime pies I think, doing normal day hours.
He turned up those months ago to get his bikes with a couple of guys who he was riding with, dont know them. But they had all been to Mike Cudbys on the piss, before coming to get the bikes, so they could be known to him.
Have'nt seen or heard from Lee since.

I am speechless. Hard for me to come to this state but I think there was a misunderstanding here today. I am sure if we all read Tony’s first post 4457 you will realise he was only saying that Lee has moved on in life and K/B is not part of what he is doing at the moment. I am sure no intent to offend or other wise was intended.

Maybe some of us are under a bit of stress with things that have happened. Lets think about what is said before replying and I am sure we will realise no harm is meant. We need to stick together to maintain a strong community.

Ummmm bike is still in bits. :bash: You sure it is this weekend….:gob: Ow shit better get it back together.

Just kidding. Mind you it is still in bits :shit: but no big deal. Gave it a test ride on the private track today and it is looking good to go. :Punk: Might be our first wet meeting. I noted the rain clouds around Fielding on the map tonight. Lucky we have new rubber.

Hope to see you at the track one day soon Chicky. You should come and stay and come down with da Mooo one weekend. No speeding tickets mind.....
