I'm not 100% sure ATM.....but apparently my morning is booked watching my youngest grandson riding in his first Gymkhana. I think I will be free by noon.....still trying to confirm at this stage. Would Sandy be interested in a quiet wee ride up the coast to say Wairoa....spend a hour or 2 laying under the trees by the riverbank.....seeing who can tell the biggest lies:laugh:.....then a quiet stroll home in the afternoon sun. Unfortunately doesn't look like I can make it in time for lunch up there. What about you and Tina coming as well Tony.....who else interested??????

Thanks for the info Chicky.
Aye Outlaw torn, come along mate. It is not a race and we will only be traveling at da 100 k. We will pick a meeting place and re group regularly. We will make sure someone stops at each turn off to guide the rest of the ride to the same destination. That is we will nominate a lead rider and they will stay in the lead. We will nominate a tail end Charlie and they stay at the back. Then the second rider stays at the turn off till the last bike comes past. Then they pass the tail and so it goes. The same bike stays at the back for whole ride. This system works well and no one should get lost.

Wairoa's out for me, bit sore today after yesterday's ride on the new bus with the higher rear sets.
But what about a crazy high, insane speeds blast around HW50, Patangata?:Punk:
Just kidding of course.......a sedate cruisy ride perhaps.

Sounds freakin awesome mate, but I'll have to flag it.
Just not up to that sort of ride yet physically, as much as it pains me to admit it.
The Wairoa one a few weeks back was pretty well my limit for endurance on the hip.
Would definately be keen in January if all goes to plan.
Might even bring the dragon.

By the sound of it we might all be better off having a wee lie down.....seems riding at speed for us more mature types is taking its toll on da bodies....not to mention the tires:no:.....whats dis 'new bus wiff da higher rear sets' of which you speak young man.....have you been partaking of a wee bit of the retail therapy of late:laugh: surely not another rider to succumb to the magnetic charms of Zuki ownership:confused:....... wait till you know :msn-wink: who hears about this:jerry: mind you....we did hear similiar murmurings at breakfast yesterday.....didn't we G.....but alas, my lips are sealed. all this frivolity is making me sleepy....might just go and have a lie down and think of next Sundays "Round the Great Lake Xmas Run" Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Performed well yesterday on its first voyage since back together.
Felt just like a Jappa.
Inline smooth 4cyl power.
I said to Rob at Patangata it felt like a Blackbird I used to ride years back.
Top heavy, but so smooth.
Blackbird, I mean a bike not a dark chick.
Mind you would I be accepted into the Zuki fellowship with my SP370?
Fuckit I'm bored think I'll do a fast thrash to Tiko or somewhere.
Time to put some gas in the Duc!!

Hi Jod, I think that they have been doing renovations of sorts....we had a lovely meal there 2 weeks ago and from memory it did look like they had recently changed things around a bit, especially between the Truckies Diner part and the general public side....its all been opened up into more or less one big diner. They did however go through a bad patch several years ago now.... where the food wasn't consistently good....but since we've been going back there for the last 12 months its been good and very reasonably priced:niceone:....roll on Sunday morning.....:scooter::woohoo:....anybody got a direct link to da weather gods:sunny:....how bout a good word for sunday:msn-wink:

cheers wasp, I've always been one to try and take the easiest route to making money but i think it wont get me far so i'm working from the bottom and hoping being a slave for some people can get me somewhere later on.
plus this will help me learn some good skills in the longrun, which will make my life with bikes that much more enjoyable as it will open up the mechanical side to me.
here's to one day being at the top of the motorcycling industry whether it petrol or electric.

Just been talking to Dave @ Kiwibike insurance.
Quoted me about 900 bucks for full cover on all 3 bikes of mine, and trackday coverage @ 15% excess on what the bike is insured for.
He also said that MottoTT is the TD people that are the preferred users and will cover for that, but **** TDs wont be as 'they dont meet insurance criteria'.....in regards to organisation, safety, scrutineering etc, and MottoTT set the benchmark.
Suzuki/Yamm/Honda/Triumph days are all fine too.
Contacted Classic Cover as a courtesy where I am now and they will only cover rider training days, and no trackdays as they are, in their words........places where everyone goes hard out and races each other.......
So guess I'll be changing to Dave.

Well at the end of the first week at five star i can say lots of bikes coming in.
they've got a lovely gsx1400 in man they are the bees knees. I want one sooooo bad :crybaby:
cleaned out back up so wayne feels like hes at home. cleaned out front, mopped the floor (took three attempts to get right rrrrgghhhh), started to do stock take of gazzillion parts not in order (got out of doing it by cleaning bikes), cut hand cleaner towels into rags atleast rubbish bag size full of rags, sorted nuts bolts washers atc into right places, hung some coopers mx gear on the wall, made coffee, used company vehicle to pick up parts and taking bikes out in the morning to be displayed outside. :sweatdrop (i suppose they're testing me to see if i can do the hard yards before they let me to more mechanical stuff)
I'm learning the art of cleaning bikes. Today i had my first experience with moving a 1000cc road bike (very nervous as didn't want to drop it, found out it isn't that daunting).
hopefully soon i can do some of the other jobs like putting tires on or the odd easy stuff on the bikes.
I did have to take a quad out the taihape road and drop it off managed to get lost a little too.
knowing i have helped a little is pretty cool.
peace out boys and girls

In that case it'd be a yzf450 wow what power, had arm pump within 5 damn minutes. good point though if I ride both when the expereince allows My thoughts will be different.
on the other hand on the gsx so much torque you can happily tour around and have oodles and oodles of low down grunt to pull you along. i'd imagine it as the opposite to a gsxr750, power at different ends of the spectrum and of course not the same handling characteristics. :Pokey:

Ha! I beat you all home.:apint:
What a fuckin comedy of errors.
Prob best next time we all know the route or we all leave together.
For those that don't know I got lost!
Was saddling up at the gas station in Taupo, half of us had gone, just a few left getting ready to go.
My helmet clip got caught and jammed on my neck warmer, so had to take it off, and try and free it. Meanwhile the helmet ripped a wire out of my ear piece for the radar.
By the time I got the helmet sorted, and realised that the earpiece was rooted, it was 5 mins and all had gone!
Was hoping someone realised I was behind and would wait up the road.
Fuck!!!
I dont know where we're going!
Went thru Taupo, thought, shit, which way?
Went to Wairaki, hmm....thats the way to Tokoroa, cant be around the lake that way.
Turned around, must of gone via Acacia bay, thats all lakey.
Damn, 2 turnoffs to Acacia bay!!!!
Took one, took me out of the town, stopped.
Thats when I txt Rob. Thought, no point phoning he'll be on the bike, won't hear.
Carried on, got to main drag of Acacia bay, followed a main drag along the lake.
Cool, thats the way surely.
10 mins of riding......dead end road.
FUCK!
Check phone, nothing.
So about now 25 mins has passed.
Figured they're all long gone, even if I pick the right road, I cant risk going full out to catch them on roads I dont know and not being able to hear the detector.
Fuckit.
I'm lost, dont know the route, no point but fly the white flag and head for home.
Went back to Taupo, stopped at Dick Smith, got a new earpiece, fuck riding over that road without radar.
Good call.
Bacon car around a bend after a long staright.
Picked the sucka up after passing a long line of cars.
Gave the bike absolute shit all the way back.
Prob got about half a dozen *555 calls in my honour.
Especially in the uphill passing lanes.
Was good.
Oh well, at least I got a good ride out today, did 400 kms.
Bit sore in the hip so maybe just as well I did'nt do the full job, as was really glad to get home!
The feed at stag park was a goody tho.
Hope you had a good one guys.
Oh Steve & Rob, you phone calls did'nt show up on my phone until I got home, as I checked in Taupo and only a txt from Rob saying you were at Whakamoe? Wherever the hell that is.

Just a post to say that this Saturday I wont be on the Sat ride, we're having a BBQ, drinks etc at home to supposedly celebrate the old girl's birthday.
Taking her down the road for lunch at a winery but should be back by 4pm, so you're all welcome to come. Could make it our Xmas BBQ if you wish. Maybe call in on your ride or after etc etc.
Prob not too many folk here, just some of her weirdo horsey mates (don't tell her I said that) and others, so your all welcome.

Had a thought....these longer rides seem to be real popular...
I've always been tempted by the Tiniroto road. Here to Wairoa, inland to Frasertown, onto Tiniroto road that goes through to near Gissy. AFAIK it's sealed all the way.
Or south on route 56? - whatever it's called. Staying east off HW2 as much as possible. Needs someone with a good map, or has done it before.

Was just leaving work to pop home for lunch today, down the vehicle crossing out onto Dalton street when the motor died just as I was about to let the clutch out and open up the throttle. Upshot is that I was unbalanced and had to rather ungracefully step of the bike as she fell over onto the road. It is so nice to have an Audience for that type of thing. Grazed so wont cut out, only minor fortunately as the bike was only doing a couple of km/hr. Yeah the engine was cold. They have a habit of just dying until the motor is well warmed up. Not his year. Got the grandson down and got to get the bike ready for the Taupo spectacular on the Saturday, ( qualifying and practice ) and Sunday ( Racing ).
We are only on the standby list for Taupo at this stage. 3rd reserve if you like. Then Patrick is staying in Taupo for the endurance on Monday. Then back to work by the look of it for me. Bugger.
I will miss it this year but might go to Paeroa again. Maybe make that an overnight ride like last year. Will plan that later.

Just either a salad, or something for desert.
Plenty of vino here.
Some beer if you want, but got heaps here.
I think John & you have'nt been here before, one of the few from our ride group that have'nt.
Go down Tait Rd, its only 1.7 long. Last driveway on L before end of road. Our letter box is on the opposite of our driveway.
Go over the small wooden bridge, and keep to RH driveway, and up the hill.
But you'll see my utes and bike trailer and floats parked in our bottom paddock.
We only have room for about 12 vehicles on our house platform, so park in the paddock if you wish, or just come on up, drop your stuff off, and park below and I'll bring you up on the quad!

Hey guys
I'm sitting my ma's lounge with our new wireless internet, courtesy of Vodafone.
I had an amazing ride down to Welly, much nicer than coming down to Napier (I didn't get wet hehehe) Even though there were alot of straights I got to look around the countryside which is something I have never done, even in a car as I'm normally asleep.
I'm rather proud of myself for doing this and enjoying the whole experience. Who needs a car license?
Thank you Steve and Mary Moo, the muffins went down a treat right about Shannon. Hope you had a good ride yesterday too.
Hope to see you on the way back.

Racing starts at 11:00 am, us lot down here are looking at getting over there by 10:00 am (ish) so as to have a look around before it gets too noisey.
The plan:
Assembling at Feilding BP at around 8:30 am to fuel and discuss with a view to departing at 9:00.
Route:
Halcome
Marton
Marton reservoir
Turakina valley
Wanganui.
If this interests you let me know, perhaps we can meet up at BP Dannevirke and head over to Feilding from there.

It was really nice to meet you, young fella.
So good to have a young one along with us again...it keeps us oldies real! Some need a reminder that we have to behave and set a good example, role models , you know:lol:
Well im looking forward to the next cruise, whenever that may be. Im up north at the moment with the parents, so i wont be around until next saturday (day after boxing day)

Yep, sure am. Bit of an annual trip for me, especially since I don't get much time to ride these days. Was going to see how many were heading over from this neck of the woods.

I should say again i'll only be heading to Wanga's if it's a decent day.
I think if you guy's just head straight to the BP in Feilding coz i'm unsure now if i'll be in Dannevirke or Palmy on Boxing day morning. If i'm going i'll catch you there (Feilding).

Another option for anyone wanting some company to Wanganui, there will be a few of us leaving from BP Stortford Lodge at 7am and heading straight through to Feilding.
Have a good xmas everyone and all the best for the new year from the Grumpy clan.
