Was a great day yesterday, enjoyed the whole thing. Stopped off for around an hr to catch up with a friend in Taupo and then hooked up with BigG and Robertydog from taupo to home.

Hey Jase, will give you $500 for the Duc (that should about cover the um "balance owing"?)

RDjase

You prick! You never told me that you'd settle for $50.00...

For $50 I will give you 5psi out of EACH tyre (see I'm a genorous guy) and let you have a quick(very) listen to my clutch !

I am getting fairly well over road riding since starting racing, I get bored riding on the staights on the way to patangta let alone longer rides, I have been thinking about selling the Monster on and off for a while now.

I will get my old RD road bike going (just bought a new crank) and use that if I do want to road ride. The duke dont get the use it needs, it sits in the shed most of the time

The duke dont get the use it needs, it sits in the shed most of the time

It would be right at home in my gargre...you could just leave it here, and, because I am really generous, I will let you retain ownership of it...with all the associated costs of course.
I will ride it for you, and not charge a brass razoo for storage!

RDjase
7th January 2010, 17:24

Manfeild trackday tomorrow Saturday 9th Jan. $50.00. Leaving BP Stortford 6.00am SHARP for 8.30am sign in. Rest stop at Woodville, gas up at Feilding BP. Anyone who wants to go, just turn up. ( You will need a current drivers license, cash, and a bike)
4 groups, race bikes, fast, medium ( 180 kph max) slow ( 120kph max and 2 up)

Just advised by organiser to get there as early as possible as they will do a head count and shut the gates at a certain number. Last Jan about 140 bikes, April over 200 with many turned away, so hence the earlier leave time.

Hey Grant you bugger, same, we had a brilliant day . Did Robs tyre make it all the way home? We got home about 5.30 unloaded the bikes and then attended a geriatrics birthday party, I was expecting muellied food a bit of Hank Williams then home and early to bed...not so, that old Johnny is not as mean as we all think there was steak (he must still have his own teeth) and salads for africa, beers wine and even those wee chocolate mints at the end...so suffice to say it was a fitting end to a fantastic day.
What's this Resthome Racing you cheeky bugger ? We prefer MotoGP ..AKA ..Moto GreyPower but hey, maybe we can pick up some sponsorship from MaryDoyle or Summerset retiirement Home. I could even go Direct to Honda and get a new CBRRR ,anyway I digress thanks for putting up the gr8 pics and the dubious company at the track, maybe we think about combining the next one with an overnighter in Palmy so we can have a few beers

Yeah, got home no worries. Rob checked the pressure at Manfeild before we left and again at Woodville and no change. The sudden loss of pressure on track is probably the reason it dumped him. Borrowed some tools off Glen Williams and managed to straighten the gearchange. Next Manfeild day is end Jan with Pacific Club, and Central Districts run another in March/April. Would be keen to do an overnighter as it makes for a long day getting up at 5.30am, riding down, racing and then ride home. Rob got me at 1.19.5 in the last session. Bit sad when my best time on an RZ350 was 1.17.9 qualifying for the '87 Castrol 6 Hour. Race pace on 600 class bikes then was 18's / 19's. ( but that was 23 years ago aye! )

Did a day trip to Waioru/Ohakune for work yesterday via Napier/Taihape Rd ( in the car). Sealing gang had just laid another 10 to 12 kms of the black stuff past the look out, plus a whole lot more done on the 'other' side as well. Won't be long and and it will another great ride ( Taihape Taupo home) on a road bike that is. Only about 20 kms of gravel left to do.
While on the subject of gravel, beware Ormondville Rd. Came back that way from ACC protest on Tuesday night and encountered 6 areas where resealing has been done in the last week, and as per usual for the wankers that put that stuff down, in that particular part of the country, NO SIGNS saying new seal. Must see if it is Higgins or Tararua Roading, or someone else. When ACC is finally screwed and we have to go back to sueing because we have had an accident due to their neglegence, we will know who to sue.

I can't believe that you'd never been to Paeroa before, G. Certainly not hard to find, though, is it? If you go again, for a change try the 'long' way. Instead of following SH1 after Wairakei, head straight for Rotorua, go to Ngongataha, take Pyes Pa Rd, skirt Tauranga and come out on SH2 at Bethlehem, then up to Waihi and through the Karangahake Gorge. Comes out straight into the centre of Paeroa.
Is a bit longer, but more interesting than all those boring straights you get going up 1 and 27, etc.

Nice ride to Taupo early Saturday morning with Ascott and Stormy1. A bit cold tho, minus 2 degrees at Rangitakei Tavern at 7.30am. The white stuff on the side of the road looked like snow, but we assumed it was a very heavy frost. Went to Patoka today for work ,and talking to a cockie there he said it snowed on the hills behind him on Friday night when the storm went through.
Excellent ride home again, passed a Goldwing then over the next hill was a revenue collector. Saved by Dale's electronics, but he got the 'Wing.

She'll be so pleased to hear that. Was good advice, eh? I tried out what she said about it not being a race. She was right! Because I wasn't going so fast on the straight bits, the bike and I didn't get all stressed under brakes and I could hold a higher corner speed...was faster overall.

Hey guys, I'm just happy to help out.
It has taken me FOREVER to get the hang of this motamacycling thing, (how John ever put up with me being so slow is beyond me?), but I seem to have finally got the hang of it, all of a sudden!
I might be old, but I still have it, eh?

Wish I had some spare cash...I need a faster bike...love the look of Rob's R1.....but those Duc's are mighty fine too....

And Honda's?????

Next Manfeild trackday is 3rd of April ( EASTER SATURDAY) Central Districts Motorcycle Club. 50 bucks for the day. Slow, medium, fast, race. They are taking 50 online registrations for this as a trial.

Allways a great day out with these guys, well run and no mucking around.

You just wouldnt believe it. The boss just said "Take the day off on the 3rd of April. Go thrash that R1. And get all the tips you can get from that Tart chick"

I read somewhere on here that some one had posted that its a day where not much in race rules happen, or protective gear were worn, lots of crashes, 8 abreast at the start, first in first at front at the start.
And some dude was riding a bike with a sword strapped to the forks?

When I stopped racing I was an ACU Steward ( MNZ now) for a couple of years. Nobody else would do their meetings, so I did a few. Laid back day, no real dramas, just had to add at rider's breifing no drugs or alcohol in the pits ( riders and crew/ helpers ) until after the track was closed and bikes on the trailers. Finished with a Barbie and beers. They always did as they were told and really appreciated me giving up time to be there.

Like one time I got the bike all serviced and ready to go, got less than 20kms down the road and...what's this?...oil all over the right side of the bike!! Bloody hamfisted mechanic had damaged the rubber (reusable) gasket on the tappet cover. Had put a split in it just where the thin part met one off the half-round cam-end part of it.
This year, we have guests from afar. So we'll be riding local.
